Had nearly everything required. Well kitted out kitchen including tea and coffee supplied. Great shower pressure and an abundance of towels. Very comfy beds. Outdoor table and chairs, which was great. Caretaker was really helpful and the pub staff were nice and friendly. Although they had just closed their kitchen they were fantastic in rustling up fish and chips for 4 very hungry guests!

No hanging rail in master bedroom and very little drawer space in all bedrooms. Not an issue as we were only staying 2 nights but it would be helpful for longer stays.

The room was very spacious with an enormous bath, which was perfect after spending a day outside. The breakfast was really good, with a very generous portion. They get very busy in the evenings so book a table as it's quite a small pub. All staff were really friendly and helpful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay here.

As the bed was 2 singles joined together, there was an uncomfortable ridge in the middle. There were a few things that needed touching up paint wise, but given if is an old building, it was in very good condition, clean and tidy. Mind the ceilings, though, on your way up to the Clocktower.

Excellent location and the total experience was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make your stay memorable. Billy was especially helpful in securing me taxi rides to the various golf courses I was playing. Will definitely recommend it to anybody who is looking to explore this special area.

The only complaint I have is the tv is too small. We Americans do like our monster tv’s. However, not exactly a Deal breaker!

Comfortable bed and good shower, good room with view over interesting picturesque village, welcoming buzzy bar with food - in evening, and also for pleasant, welcoming, relaxed breakfast.

Lock for room (The Clocktower) absolutely definitely needs to be replaced as a matter of high priority - unacceptable to expect 10 minutes of fiddling each time to get the key in (just in case - you have to slightly turn anticlockwise, and wiggle vigorously with a slight upward pressure - but not too much pressure - and the key will go in, stickily)

The house was immaculate, the beds were so comfortable and all the bedding and towels were if a very high quality. There were lots of nice touches like minarures of toiletries, the house had everything you could need and was in a great location. If we were back in thw area we would absolutley stay again. It was good value for money.

The WiFi kept cutting out and there was no TV remote which didn't really bother us as we were only there for a night but if we had been there for longer it would have been annoying.

I had to have a rushed breakfast, and the staff were happy to make me a bacon butty . Thats the difference. when staff look out for you.! Lovely place

Restaurant was not open the day we were there. so make sure you check.. Apart from that. nothing to complain about.. which is good for everyone

We stayed in a lovely cottage. The location was at the end of a drive, which we were unable to drive our motohome down to, which meant the access for our disabled parents was less than ideal. We expected to be close to the pub so that our parents wouldn't have to go far for their evening meal and this wasn't the case, so we had to go shopping for food to cook. For an able-bodied person this is a fantastic place to stay, but for our parents it was a bit of a struggle.

The Crown & Kitchen is an old established pub with a busy restaurant in the centre of East Linton. We had a large double room, well furnished with a very comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom. Staying for only one night, we decided to eat in. It was their 'Burger' night which we had and were not disappointed. Their 'dirty' chips were lovely as was the burger itself. There is a really busy, friendly atmosphere and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

the room was modern & clean however lacked any reasonable power points. one for the tv & one for the kettle and/or coffee machine. even the night lights were plugged behind the tall headboard. charging iPhone was a challenge. only one other negative comment. I hadn’t quite realised that ‘private bathroom’ meant across the hall & down a small corridor. all very modern & lovely but as a lady of a certain age, I need the bathroom through the night. having said that, it’s the best breakfast we’ve had whilst travelling around Scotland. the haggis was amazing. the staff were a delight and the host/owner was lovely. our evening meal the night before was also very good.

lack of power plugs, and separate bathroom.

Clean, nice rooms, comfy bed, great staff. We had a separate (still private) WC up a couple of stairs across the corridor but wasn’t a significant problem for us. Nice breakfast. Had robes and coffee facilities in room.

Fire doors slam, walls are paper thin and so loud snorers or noisy neighbours and loud TVs can be heard at all hours. Rooms could benefit from a blackout blind that stops the streetlight/dawn sunshine pouring in.
