Great place to break up a long journey. Buffet style for cereal, toast etc, very good breakfast cooked to order and served on red hot plates (yippee!). Coffee from the thermos jugs was a bit wishy washy and not overly warm. Very good dinner and I appreciated the Covid measures in place (masks worn by staff and a few sensible guests, decent space between tables). Comfortable, warm room, ideal for an overnight stop, situated in a separate building 1 minute walk away from the restaurant/bar.

More hanging space in the bathroom. At checkout I reported a loose grabrail in the bathroom for which I was thanked and informed this would be rectified by maintenance.

We booked Pine Martin as a family of 4 adults. The location was easy to find, with plenty of free parking spaces when we arrived. We went into the pub first as we were a little early for check in, but the staff were so happy and friendly that it was a lovely place to sit and relax. The bedrooms are separate to the pub area, but you still need to check in at the pub. We took the short walk into nearby Dunbar, so the location was great! However, we were tempted back to the Pine Martin for our evening meal as the menu looked great, and we weren't disappointed! Again, great staff & service, with great food!

No complaints from anyone in my family about the stay!

Although in a prime location, it was quiet. Very convenient for local amenities and for those with onward travel in mind

Went for dinner in the attached bar/restaurant which wasn’t as good as it could have been, ordered a medium steak with extra portion of onion rings, it’s came very rare without the onion rings. Brought this to the attention of the waitress, and had a wait for the onion rings, which when they came were inedible due to being burnt and literally solid. Avoidable mistakes. Having said all that I couldn’t fault the staff, they were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Hannah W, shone in the face of adversity, nothing flustered her and she made the experience a worthwhile one.

Room was clean and warm Breakfast was good - more choice on cereals would be great though Dinner couldn't fault, staff polite, friendly and food was of a good quality

Towels could be a little softer and a choice of softer pillow would be good - the room I stayed in all 4 pillows were hard No room refresh unless asked - I stayed for 3 nights and would expect at least one visit - same price is being charged but cleaning the room has to be requested and to be honest I forgot to put sign on the door as I am sure others will

Very comfortable room however the slot where the key was inserted ro keep the electricity on was taped up because it wasn’t functioning properly, the tape maintaining the contact. On the second night it failed and had to be pressed manually every few minutes to keep the lights on. Didn’t distract from our stay but it was a pain. Did report it though hopefully in time for next guest.

The location is excellent and has plenty of parking. Breakfast was very good value and fresh.

On arrival we enquired at the bar if they had a spare room for the night. I was told immediately that they were completely full. It was suggested that I try Dunbar town where there were more hotels. Back in the car, I looked at Booking.com and there at the top of the page was The Pine Marten!! I booked and paid and with my confirmation I went back in, saw a different staff member and was taken to reception where I found out they actually had plenty of vacancies!!! I suggest in future that before people are turned away, the room vacancy situation is properly checked.

The bed was very comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food in the attached pub was delicious and reasonably priced, the breakfast excellent. Good selection of drinks both soft and alcoholic.

It wasn't immediately obvious where to check in to the hotel. There is a sign outside but one in the lobby area as well as on the wall outside would be helpful. Better shower curtains as it kept floating off the side of the bath. Wall mounted shower controls and another grab handle would also be helpful for people with slight mobility issues

The Room was perfect and bed was really comfy and no noises from outside either so perfect nights sleep and parking was easy and bar/restaurant was fantastic and food was spot on and great atmosphere and local amenities were close by which was fantastic

One of the guests had been smoking in their room and could smell it on the landing area but once we were in our room we couldn't smell anything. People should be more respectful for the property and others and go outside to smoke.

The staff were very welcoming, the evening meal was good service was very quick and efficient. The hotel's location was ideal, although, on the A1, it was very quiet.

Breakfast was ok but not the best compared to other hotels I have stopped at. Unfortunately, it tasted like it had been precooked and reheated in the microwave. The give away was the temperature

This is an ideal place to explore the area. It is half a minute from the A1. The view from the room was of the car park and Asda, this was not a problem, the room was very modern and clean, it had the usual niceties; biscuits tea and milk. A hairdryer and en-suite. I have never had such good value for money. ( please keep it this way) The pub / restaurant was adjacent to the Inn. There’s a good selection on the menu, the only problem you will have with the food will be managing to eat it all. The seaside is minutes away. There’s a golf club close by and the countryside is abundant with deer etc. overall this is an excellent place to explore north Of England and south east of Scotland.

Some people will be put off by the closeness to the main Road and where it is situated near the shopping centre. I was a bit daunted at first, but I wasn’t looking to sunbath outside the Inn. There’s Plean Ty of places close by for this. I have nothing to moan about at all.
