Love location and pool most staff were v nice.

Arrival younger blonde girl on desk not nice took forever didn't do the very basic things like tell me how to get to room, where everything is time of breakfast or even bother to wish me a present stay? No one else at my time of check in so no excuse she keeps asking the other blonde girl what to do, really not welcoming just asked for my card to charge anything to room! This said ALL the other staff were so lovely esp the restaurant young gents and pool staff all really lovely. It's a shame you have someone on reception the main point of contact for guest who is not capable or suited to role, really let's down all the lovely hard working super lovely helpful staff that you do have.

The hotel offered a possibility of early check-in, which was very handy. The front desk also offered us personalised recommendations for our stay. The room was comfortable and cosy. It was quite small, so handy that we didn't plan to spend a lot of time there. There were robes and tea/coffee facilities in the room as well as a minibar. There was also an iron and an umbrella, so handy we didn't need to specifically ask for these things. We particularly enjoyed hotel swimming pool facilities - great pool opening hours and quite good options for sauna/ steam room in a limited space! Breakfast was great too! Buffet and warm food options available and staff is very nice and attentive. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will hopefully we back again :)

The room was very warm, and the tiny window was not very helpful. We realised that the heat was due to bathroom fan no working and although we reported it, we didn't hear about it (we only stayed one night, so not much time).

have stayed at this hotel a number of times but it has changed hands since the last time I had stayed it is still a lovely hotel but a bit more expensive but that is probably because it has been decorated throughout in an eclectic mix of wall papers some we’re very nice but in the room I was given it was a bit dark for my taste. I will always enjoy going to this hotel as it has everything in it that I like. A good breakfast and we had a bar meal the first night which was very nice and a meal in the main restaurant which was also very nice.

the small room we were given but as I was on a budget it was what I could afford. although the room was small it had everything in it we needed but it was a very warm room and a bit dark. it had a good shower but this was over the bath and as you get older not so easy to get in and out. the bed was very good and we slept well

Excellent breakfast with great portions. Exceptional service from staff who all seem to be wonderfully trained from top to bottom. Especially loved how dog friendly it was and how well my little cavalier was treated. Very, very clean facilities and the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever encountered. Will be returning again soon, no question.

There wasn't anything that I would change about the experience, short of better transportation to and from the train station. I could not reach anyone at the hotel and unable to find a taxi, so made the walk with all my luggage and the dog. Which was, blessedly, very short and a nice day for it.

The restaurant staff were charming, well trained and efficient. Our porter, James, was especially helpful and acknowledged that our stay was to celebrate a special anniversary. The room was spacious and very comfortable. It was useful to have a lift. The public areas are very attractive and the service is attentive. The food was first class in the Lawn Restaurant and the Bistro.

Our room was not serviced with no explanation when we reported this to reception. When we mentioned this again to the receptionist who checked us out he apologised and was astonished at this but could not explain why this happened. It's a pity the housekeeping staff are not up to the high standard expected in a hotel of this quality.

Deluxe king room with sea view was perfect. Room decor was lovely, eclectic, quirky, very comfortable with every last little thing to make our stay perfect. Thank you to James the concierge for the Prosecco and chocolate, lovely touch. All the staff were very helpful and really focussed on making our stay one to remember. The hotel is looking fabulous since the renovation and the food is delicious. Thank you so much, we had such a lovely weekend.

Just a tiny thing but please bring back actual Bacardi and maybe offer an alternative cocktail list.

The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and is very comfortable. The staff are very attentive and customer service is excellent. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the hotel left a lovely gift for us in our room which was much appreciated.

The hotel has a spa and one evening when we were eating an early dinner in the bar, some guests came in from the spa wearing dressing gowns. I didn’t think this was appropriate. Dress like that in the spa but not in the bar. The hotel should stipulate being properly dressed in the public areas otherwise where does it end? Down for breakfast in one’s PJs?

This is a beautiful hotel, tastefully decorated and great facilities. We ate in the bar not the main restaurant and it was great, and staff excellent.

Unfortunately we had an issue with payment. The hotel said they would reserve £25 per night for incidentals. Instead of that, they reserved the entire cost of our trip (£400+) and then also took it from my card on check out. It took a week to get it sorted, and the correspondence with reception and the operations manager left a bad taste in my mouth. Our bank were horrified. When I returned home, I discovered the same thing had happened to a colleague and it took them nearly 2 months to get the funds unreserved.

Room and the facilities in it were excellent. Good parking. Good views. Concierge at check-in was excellent. Most of the staff were very friendly. Super comfortable bed. Nice toiletries.

Reception - on check-in the receptionist was not good and had to check everything with a colleague. Gave us no information about breakfast wi-fi etc. Only gave us one key card. Concierge sorted out the second one. On check-out there was a queue and the second receptionist was doing admin, had to ask her if she could check us out. Water in reception would have been good if there were any glasses. Breakfast - menu had grease stains on it; one napkin had a black mark on it; no one travelling around to offer coffee refills; some of the bowls and plates on the buffet had residue in them (dishwasher issue?) few glasses for the juice which were hard to reach as on lowest shelf.

location is excellent. wonderful views. beautiful renovated building.

majority of staff were excellent. it does seem though that they give all their attention to their golf groups whether from overseas or not. as a couple we were often sidelined in favour of the groups especially when attempting to get a seat/meal in the bar area. dinner in the restaurant on our first night was excellent. breakfast though, we thought was underwhelming. some areas also needed a bit more TLC (my husband went to sit on a chair in the lounge/bar area and the armrest was broken).
