Dear Bayswell hotel. You may be aware of my fluctuation scores awarded during my 2 night stay. Overall everything was good. 1st night was peaceful,Although-,Sadly the 2nd night was a nightmare ,Water coming in from above me, After mentioning this incident to members of staff(including) the night staff whom came to me to look at the above leakage,I got the impression that it probably wasn’t taken seriously..Hence the low score regarding staff,Sorry Bayswell hotel ,Such a shame regarding this point,As I couldn’t fault the actual room, food, hotel situation views , Maybe missing that communication of warmth . :-(

I could not have picked a better location. The hotel was directly facing the bay and North sea. It was wild and calm, a great combination for me. Although the building was an old property, the facilities were upgraded giving a modern feeling. The bed was super king size and comfortable. I travelled by train on a couple of occasions and it was a nice easy twenty minutes walk to the station. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice for all tastes. All guests were well looked after by the waiting staff. In fact all the staff at the hotel were very attentive. A very good hotel in a lovely town, close enough to all the amenities.

I cannot think of anything.

our original room was at the back of the property without a sea view. the room contained little except a bed. but was kept nice and warm. the shower was excellent, the highland soap co. products delightful. Our room after we upgraded was a suite with Seaview and was absolutely amazing, incredible view, lots of windows, large bathroom, 4 poster. in both cases the breakfast was superb and came quickly and the staff were really sweet and most helpful. location for walks along an interesting promenade to the harbour or into town etc. was great.

the thing which made the room at the back untenable to light sleepers on a Saturday night was the lack of double glazing above a gravel carpark. the suite was double glazed. I’d encourage anyone to pay for a sea view if they can afford it as it was a different experience

Situation excellent very handy to town. The view from my single room, breathtaking. Breakfast selection good but was disappointed I could not get a boiled egg. The vegetarian evening meal was delicious but as it was the only option I did not have another evening meal. Staff very pleasant. Generally the hotel was clean. Comfortable mattress and superb shower.

The bedroom was adequate though somewhat tired with decorative improvement required especially the window surrounds. The window was also dirty. The window rattled badly when it was windy which meant I had a very disturbed night one night. I had to jam it shut with card at the sash to quieten it. I was above one of the ground floor rooms with a hot tub. The noise from that and the people outside went on till late. Some areas of the hotel needed redecorating. The fire escape opposite my room, 20, looked unsafe. The room could have done with a tray for the drinks equipment.

The Hotel is located directly at the shore. The view from the dining room is beautiful. Having breakfast with a sea view was the best part of our stay. For those who don’t face the sea with their rooms, there is a nice little room with two sofas next to the dining room. I had a tea there in the afternoon - so lovely! The breakfast was delicious and rich. Very fresh fruit and fluffy croissants on the buffet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We liked the spacious shower and the nice smelling soap. We got a travel bed for our child with no extra charge and they have a high chair in the dining room. From the Hotel it’s a short car ride to Tyningham Beach and North Berwick, which we both really enjoyed, and the John Muir Costal Walks passes just by the Hotel. City Centre of Dunbar is a short walk away. Perfectly located to enjoy the closer area.

The front door as well as room doors slam quite loudly. Our room was just above the main entrance and with people going in and out at night it was a bit loud. Also when you have a room facing the parking lot, the driving cars on the gravel are quite noisy. But that is just a given and sleeping is possible with the Window shut.

The location is superb, overlooking the sea and within an easy walk to the town centre. The staff were friendly and the room comfortable with a compact, but good quality bathroom. Both dinner and Breakfast were excellent and the service was prompt and efficient and helpful.

The curtains we’re rather short( finishing about 2ft from the floor), allowing light into the room in the morning. There was a crack in the mirrored glass on one of the wardrobe doors. The sliding door into the bathroom was rather roughly finished, which was a shame as the bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished and was excellent, with a very large shower cubicle.

The location and the jacuzzi are absolutely fantastic. Second to none set up. Bed was pretty comfortable and a nice spacious bathroom

The jacuzzi policy! After paying £250 odd for a room the only thing you want to do once you get home from dinner and drinks is enjoy it and to be told at 11pm by the staff to turn it off and get inside was quite annoying. I’d understand if we were loud and playing music but we were sitting quietly in it just enjoying. Really took the edge off the experience. Breakfast- a bit of a mess- just think they were understaffed and ended up waiting 30 mins to eat and we’re not offered toast. Also think coffee offering could be better with latte’s etc rather than just black coffee. Not quite at the standard I’d expect to be charging such a premium. I think the hotel as much as I enjoyed it- gets away with this stuff because of its location and the novelty of a jacuzzi.

An older building, we had a very spacious room with absolutely.wonderful sea views . Large room and well appointed . Loads of ample parking on site, and only a few minutes walk into Dunbar centre. Also the hotel is on the coastal path that takes you to the "Bridge to Nowhere" if you want an amble .

Unfortunately the online dinner menu was out of date, and the venison we wanted was no longer available. Likewise at Breakfast, the salmon and scrambled eggs option wasn't available. So two disappointments with catering. Also on arrival, no toilet paper in the bathroom. A simple mistake but this hotel wasn't that cheap.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is stunning, loads of parking on the street if the car park is full and the walk along the cliffs to Belhaven bay was a great way to work off the delicious breakfast! My room on the first floor had a sea view which was beautiful. Wish I'd had some binoculars to do some bird sporting, so many seabirds out in the morning.

The decor and some of the fixtures and fitting were a bit tired looking, but everything was clean and worked fine so I'm being picky.

We had a private hot tub room with the most beautiful view. We were very lucky as we got dry weather and we’re able to make full use of the hot tub. The room was massive and the bed was super comfy. Bathroom was clearly renovated relatively recently and the bathtub was enormous. The staff were very friendly. We had breakfast the next morning which was lovely - full works - and the staff were super pleasant there too. We didn’t make use of the bar in the hotel as we were a bit busy with our hot tub and view! The location is fab as it’s walking distance to Belhaven brewery and even closer to the restaurants (although the hotel does offer food too) and bars in Dunbar. We don’t normally go to the same place twice but I think we will be back!!! We walked around the shoreline in the morning and it was absolutely stunning.

Everything was great.
