We did not have breakfast there, so I cannot comment on that. The location was fantastic. A short walk to the train station and so close to cafes, shops, restaurants, historical sites. I just loved this place! I would stay there again for sure. A beautiful, well-managed hotel that looks like it used to be a row house. The price for the value was excellent. The bathroom was small but so well designed that everything made sense and it had everything we needed for our stay.

I could hear footsteps above my room. The room we had was directly below the breakfast area so starting around 6:30 a.m., we heard walking back and forth. There was also a loud dripping sound when the air conditioning was running. However, I had ear plugs with me, so I just used those. Everything else was absolutely amazing!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming boutique hotel and I cannot speak highly enough of my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel and the attentive and friendly staff. One of the highlights of my stay was the amazing breakfast prepared by the hotel's talented chef and the super lovely/attentive Turkish waitress The selection was impressive and the quality of the food was outstanding. My kids especially enjoyed the cooked breakfast. The reception staff - Jessie was also very warm and welcoming. The rooms were also a standout feature of the hotel. They were tastefully decorated and furnished with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was particularly comfortable, and the linens were of the highest quality. I also appreciated the attention to detail in the room's design, such as the well-placed lighting and the stylish furnishings. The hotel's location was also a major plus point. It was conveniently situated in the heart of the city Richmond and near the Tube/Station. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in the city. The amazing breakfast, good and well-styled rooms, and excellent location make it a top choice for anyone visiting the area.

Housekeeping in on a request basis, which is fine and I was not bothered. The rooms are very clean. However, I do feel that housekeeping can empty the bins daily, rather than as a request.

Lovely clean hotel in a quiet spot. Slept well and appreciated the variety of pillow types (I am very fussy!). Staff were really pleasant and very helpful. We were shown to our rooms and offered assistance. A kind staff member also offered to help when my mother became ill in our second day which was a nice personal touch. Very convenient location for Richmond town centre and the train station. Will definitely book this hotel again next time we visit London.

Breakfast service on our first morning was a bit clunky. Table was missing cutlery / salt / pepper. Would have preferred small jugs of milk to be provided with the coffee and tea at the table. In my room my tea / coffee caddy hadn’t been filled since the previous occupant so I took some tea bags from my relatives room. They are the only minor critiques we have!

The room was ample and clean. The bedding was quality and bed very comfortable. The location was near the heart of Richmond, yet away from the bustle and noise.

My only complaint is the hair dryer in the room did not work. I didn’t have time to request a working one that morning, so stopped by reception on my way out to drop off the broken dryer. I was told a new one would be delivered to my room later that day. I returned late that night and forgot to check for the replacement dryer. The next morning I went looking for it after my shower and learned it had never been delivered.

Started with good curb appeal! Walking inside was a pleasant experience; the lobby is beautifully decorated and smells devine! Staff at the desk were very welcoming, Jessie was particularly helpful and very warm. André was another staff member who made a big impression on us; truly nothing was hard for him and he made us feel so welcome! The room was smallish but so comfortable. Loved the selection of tea and coffee bags. Also appreciated the very nice bathroom products. For us, the location was ideal, away from the bustle of London but there is still a lot of life and plenty going on. The Tube is right around the corner. LOVED this hotel; could not have been happier.

Nothing; everything was really quite lovely!

The hotel is convenient from the railway station and only a short walk from the town centre, river and start of Richmond Hill which leads to Richmond Park. It was my first visit to the area so chose as it made it possible to walk and explore all within 2 days and also get a boat to Hampton Court on the third. The room was described as cabin and actually a little larger than I was expecting, so a nice surprise. Wardrobe space was ample and the bathroom was sizeable and modern, with both bath and shower. The bed was extremely comfortable and windows could be opened, which is not always the case these days. My room had a beautiful tree and gardens outside and there was birdsong, which was lovely. In room drink making facilities were good and the chocolate as well as biscuits on arrival a treat!

As this survey asks for comment about breakfast- well, breakfast is slightly expensive at £15 for continental selection. There was no orange juice available on either of the 2 days I stayed, but this is a comment not a complaint. The location, pleasant/airy dining room with relaxing background music and friendly staff justified paying that for me personally, it was a nice way to begin the day before exploring.

Really nice room and very comfy bed. A very comfy stay.

Quite a bit of noise through the wall when their shower was on and the toilet made quite a lot of noise after being flushed (constant trickling water) but this was fine if you shut the bathroom door. For the price, I would expect a smart tv. This only had basic terrestrial and no iplayer etc, which was a surprise. Breakfast was advertised at 7am. I asked if I could order straight away as I had a race to get to and was told everything would be ready and it would be fine, but this wasn’t the case and they forgot my order (even though there were only two people eating breakfast when I ordered) and this meant I had a bit of a stressful start.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was compact, but it felt luxurious as it had plenty of complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, fluffy towels, use of a hotel I pad, I had a lovely night's sleep too. The mattress was comfortable. The staff kindly put our luggage in the room, after check in time, as we had to dash off to a West end show. The breakfast was delicious and offered either a cooked breakfast, or a buffet, continental style breakfast. The staff offered plenty of tea and coffee too. Great service.

I liked everything about our stay.I would choose to spend another night at the Selwyn Hotel and recommend it to friends , or family, visiting Richmond.

We had a cabin room, small but clean and comfortable with high quality decor and extras - teapigs tea, divine chocolate, nice toiletries. The only complaint is our room, 106, was below the bar/breakfast area, so there was some noise from above. We would definitely stay here again as it is a beautiful place. Richmond is a lovely area and close to Twickenham (for the rugby)! Parking is expensive at the hotel so we parked at Richmond Athletic through Just park for just under £10 for 24 hours. Kew Gardens is very close and public transport links are good. We found a nice a cafe, the Albert Deli, very nearby for breakfast. The hotel do a continental style breakfast but my hubby likes a full English and I am vegan so it didn't suit our needs. We, would also recommend the the Dragon Inn restaurant for amazing Chinese food - we went early on a Saturday evening and it filled up quickly so maybe book in advance.

Just a bit of noise from the floor above which was the bar/breakfast area.

The Egyptian cotton bed linen was a dream. The mattresses were also very comfortable. We had a small, very cosy and quiet room with a bathtub. Everything is beautifully furnished. The breakfast was very good. There was a buffet with warm croissants, pastries, various yoghurts, fresh fruit, cheese, all kinds of coffee like latte, cappuccino, tea and juices. Then for £15 you could order eggs benedict, sourdough bread with avocado and poached eggs. There were several delicious options with ham, cheese, scrambled eggs, French toast. Sehr zu empfehlen! The staff and especially André made us feel very welcome. This hotel is run with a lot of heart and attention to detail. No wish remains unfulfilled. Kind regards from us. ♥️

The only thing that took some getting used to was that coffee was served in paper cups. This does not fit the standard of this beautiful hotel, I would have preferred porcelain cups. Otherwise, highly recommended. The free jazz music in the bar was not to my taste, but André turned that too into 1 minute with Sade Adu.♥️
