What a lovely couple Sam and Diane are, so friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless, and so spacious, the bed was comfy and clean. There is loads of storage ,two chairs ,kettle and biscuits. There is a double shower in a quite spacious bathroom. The breakfast was lovely ,there was the usual selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt and toast there was also a cooked breakfast. The hosts will advise you of the best places to go but will also advise if you need to book.

There wasn't anything we didn't like

Clean, friendly B and B. Breakfast was beautiful. The couple Sam and Julie were welcoming. It was in walking distance to Filey but also quiet. We had the smallest room but still enough space for a short weekend. Nice and quiet

On arrival, we rode around for one hour trying to get some parking. Inconvenience up the road at council parking, but we came away unscathed, and Sam tried his best to accommodate us. We got parking sorted after 90 minutes of upheaval

Excellent location, just a short walk from the sea-front. Very nicely furnished and very clean and new-looking. Our room was very nice, very comfortable bed and very nice facilities, lovely bathroom. All the little touches were fantastic - a little flask of fresh milk, a mat to put onto the bed to put your suitcase on to protect the duvet. The breakfast was ordered the evening before so it was freshly cooked and the breakfast was served in two sittings. Very tasty breakfast. It was also nice to have quiet music on in the breakfast room so that it wasn't uncomfortably silent like in many other places.

We managed to park opposite but I imagine that it could possibly be a little difficult to park really close when busy.

Victoria room was lovely. Spacious, clean and comfortable. We had originally booked the family room as it was the only room left and there was only 2 of us. Upon arrival we were offered the Victoria as it was less stairs to climb and was told it was a nicer room.

The only thing i didnt like was the insistence of hand gel every time we went to breakfast. I myself cannot use it due to a skin problem and I'm sure there are others too and I know some people are allergic to it.

Very welcoming. Easy to find, close to the centre. Very clean and spacious room. We stayed in the Victoria room which is at the front of the property. Very nice room with everything you need.

Very very small point but dining room a bit small but only there for breakfast so not too bad. It's the only thing I would say needs attention. Very clean etc just small when everyone is in there.

The property was spotlessly clean throughout and the decor was traditional and tasteful. There was free Wi-Fi that worked really well and the owners were just amazing. So accommodating.. nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was cooked perfectly and was fabulous quality ingredients. The bed was lovely and comfortable.

There was nothing to not like.

very is to get to from the station and easy access to the beach and local restaurants. Sam and Diane are very pleasant and make a great breakfast that fills you up till mid day. I will definitely stay agin on are next visit. love the royal vibe with all different rooms named after queens of England we stayed in Margaret of Anjou very spacious,clean and comfortable beds.

Breakfast was excellent well cooked and very good choices. Location couldn’t have been better so close to town with its variety of shops,pubs and also Angela’s tea shop in the gardens ,it was all lovely, also the beach was fantastic and near

A mini fridge would have been good in the room but that’s only a small thing other than that no complaints

Athol House is a beautifully decorated and looked after property in a great location in Filey with easy walks to the Town centre and the beach. The standard of facilities and decor is superb and probably the best bed and breakfast experience we have ever had. The owners are lovely and well experienced at running their guest house and the full English breakfast is superb indeed. Ten out of ten without doubt 😊

Nothing to not like

The rooms were beautifully decorated to a very high standard. Everything was immaculate throughout the whole property! Owners were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice to order night before. Excellent location with 5 mins walk to the beach or shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend to anyone without hesitation. Easy to see how they rated 9.8
