Palm Court Hotel

Breakfast was great you could have more or less anything you wanted 😀 The cooked breakfast was all nice and hot nothing was too much trouble for the staff they went out of there to help .

The only was the room was very small and it had a big bed ,but it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves ,we were lucky and had lovely weather ,the hotel is in a good position to get to places especially if you are not on your feet .

Perfect location, lovely staff and great quality breakfast, lots of choice. Hotel was immaculately clean.

Asked for a particular room we have stayed in previously but it wasnt available. The room we were allocated was very poor,extremely small and cramped, trouser press not working, furniture chipped, tiny wardrobe, but worst of all, the heating was full on and the radiator broken so couldnt be turned off. There was no way we could sleep in such heat, the receptionist arranged to move us to another room, which a actually turned out to be the one we had requested! This room was much bigger, the radiator could be adjusted and the windows opened. Both the same price room but so different!

On this occasion our room was spacious and comfortable, the bed was reasonably firm, which makes for a goods night's sleep and the bathroom was spacious. The receptionist who checked us in and out was delightful.

The dining room staff were, with only one exception, uniformly miserable looking. The duty Manageress's greeting was what one might expect at a prison reception. We had the impression that staff morale was really low. The absence of a safe was surprising and the laundry service has been outsourced such that the price of even laundering a T-shirt was 50% of the purchase price of a new one. However, in fairness, this seems to be the norm, assuming that there is even a laundry service at all.

It was near every thing central

I booked this hotel fir a birthday present for my husband, The room was so hot window only opened a bit so no air got in only cooking smells we was on top floor.the seagulls kept us awake from the day we got there all night long, i booked and paid for 4 nights which was a lot of money,but we ended up going home a day early as we were both so tied and had a 5 hour journey back home think this hotel needs to upgrade and install air-conditioning in the rooms not just a fan thats has not any power to it. Then you could shut the windows and have a good nights sleep.

Great location with free parking and delicious big breakfast. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and very nice to talk to. Sitting and having drinksinks in the lounge area were at a great price for beer, cider, wine and G&Ts. There was a few hot days during our stay so the fan in the room immensely helped cool us and cool off the room. What really helped is when we opened the room door and windows to get a nice draft wind blow through the room.

It’s was our second time staying at the Palm Court hotel in over a year. For some reason both times the shower drain was really slow draining while taking a shower. Everything else was superb.

The location of the hotel was really good, just around the corner from the cliff top walks and the cliff railway down to the sea front. in addition the main shopping streets are just a two minute walk away. One of the reasons we stayed here was the provision of guaranteed secure parking, not always easy to find in busy seaside towns. Although the room was rather small, due to the historic nature of the hotel, it was nicely appointed, clean, warm and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless with a bath and shower. We had breakfast in the hotel and this was superb, with an excellent choice on offer. The staff were also friendly and very efficient in getting everything organised. The public areas within the hotel had a very elegant feel and we very much enjoyed our stay here

Brilliant location, close to shops and the sea front. Very good, secure, free car parking. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. The hot food was just that and extremely tasty and was served with a smile. Couldn't be faulted. The best I've had for a while. Great walk in shower with a choice of large or small shower heads. Comfortable, king sized bed.

Our room was very warm and even with the window open to the maximum and a coolish fan on, I still had to sleep on top of the covers! We did mention this to reception after our first night.

Breakfast was the best we have had in a long time. Staff were good as well. Great location with almost everything in walking distance. Free complementary car park around the corner was ok but I expected better. Great lounge area.

The hotel was a bit dilapidated. Bed was made up clean but it had seen better days & nights. We could not control heating temperature in the room. It was uncomfortably boiling hot during the night. Window would not stay open without a prop. A fan was available but noisy to sleep while fan on. Evening meal choice and restaurant timing was very limited so we ended up eating out every night. We pre booked thro Booking.com at £120 inc vat per night. We stayed for 3 nights. Hotel were offering same night rate but buy 2 nights & get one free. So going direct to the hotel we could have saved £120.

Everything was exceptional, the hotel itself, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious. The location was excellent very close to all the amenities such as shopping centre,the beach and train station which is essential when you have a teenager it's a family holiday and you have Parkinsons,I didn't want to leave. The bed was like sleeping on marshmallows.... Perfect.

I liked everything. There was nothing I didn't like.

Very nice staff. Good location. Nice comfortable bar area.

Noisy sea gulls. My room was a little tired looking. Squeaky floorboards.
