The Waves

The breakfast was very good. The location was as expected just off the Esplanade with easy access to the sea front via the cliff lift or paths through landscaped gardens. Our stay was not as long as planned because of an error by the booking agency, which they acknowledged. The reaction from the management when we pointed this out was exceptional. They promptly found us alternative accommodation, arranged for us to view it and then insisted on transferring our luggage to it. beyond our expectations as they were not responsible for the problem.

I could not fault anything that was in the control of the property owners. The business appears to be very well run.

Very comfy bed with quality egyptian cotton bedding. Large room. Sofa. Good breakfast On-road parking outside - we were provided with a permit Nice lounge area to sit in if you wanted to - including a juke box

We were on the top floor and found our water in the shower ran hot and cold. Only a half hour window for breakfast. You fill in your breakfast choice the night before (no problem with that). There are 3 times : 830, 845 or 9.00. We selected 845 but had to wait between 20-30 mins for our hot food. Also each day there was a little mistake despite us choosing via the form provided the day before. I think it would be better to have a longer slot for breakfast. I got the impression it was quite a stressful time for the owners as the B&B was full when we stayed.

Beautiful Victorian property . Decorated in neutral colours . Exceptionally clean . Beautiful bed linen and pillows, and towels and even shower gel and shampoo in bathroom , all the little touches make such a difference, lovely touches in room tea coffee biscuits . Hosts very friendly . Perfect location for walking to sea front Parking permit was provided and we were lucky enough to get parked just over road from the property Lovely fresh cooked breakfast next morning and it tasted as good as it was presented . Book you won’t be disappointed

Nothing to dislike , we had room 7 2 twin beds so avoid that room if that’s a problem and 2 flights stairs to climb but absolutely fine for us personally

We absolutely loved our stay at The Waves - The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need. The inside decor is lovely with added personal touches. We really liked little book with notes about the house & local recommendations. Emma and Chris were super responsive, concerned to make our stay comfortable and available to answer any questions. They were very welcoming and generous. Amazing selection of options for breakfast with every diet preference catered for. Food was delicious and we loved the homemade marmalade. I would not hesitate to recommend The Waves to anyone.

Victorian house in quiet location, just a stone's throw from cliff lift and spa, Emma and Chris were great hosts, breakfast was super and plentiful, lovely homemade jam. Our room was spotlessly clean, bed comfortable and roll top bath a nice treat, powerful shower. The welcome pack was of interest and helpful. This b&b was far better than some of the first class hotels we have stayed in, we will be visiting again. Parking available nearby. Thanks for a great break.

Nothing not to like.

Our room was lovely with a very comfy bed and great shower. Loved the fact there were tea making facilities in the room with a variety of drinks choices and some lovely biscuits. Our hosts Emma and Chris were lovely and very helpful if we needed any info. The breakfast was very good. Would definitely recommend this B & B

Scarborough is quite a hilly area so if you find it difficult climbing steps and hills maybe this place is not for you.

Spotlessly clean, well equipped with a real feeling of luxury from bedding, to toiletries to hot drinks etc. Easy parking using a permit from the owners. The owners have really thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. Thankyou.

We thought the idea of pre-booking breakfast for a time slot was excellent, however, other guests must have known to arrive in advance of the time slot as you a served on a first come first served basis. We will know next time.

Emma and Chris were very friendly, welcoming and polite. Anywhere that gives me homemade cake when I arrive gets my vote!! Clean and comfortable rooms. Our room and bathroom wasn't large abut the space is very well used and we were very comfortable. he lounge was also very comfortable and I loved the Juke box. Great breakfast choices. Parking permit worked well. Good location close to the front.

We had a very enjoyable stay at The Waves. Location was perfect for our needs. Room was very clean and comfortable . Breakfast was excellent . Very good quality and very plentiful. You ordered what you wanted the evening before and it was served to your table. Hosts were very friendly as were the other guests. Guest house was very close to the Spa cliff lift which took you down to the beach and promenade.

Great experience staying at The Waves in Scarborough recently. On arrival (two hours ahead of planned check-in time) we were told we had been upgraded to a bigger room - result! Breakfast was excellent and being able to use the lounge with games and a free jukebox was fantastic too. We'd definitely return to stay again.

The bathroom door in our room didn't close easily - it needed to be shut with a bang. That was the only issue, though.
