The room was spacious and very clean, the staff were brilliant, very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The checking in and out process was very easy and a member of staff (Claire, I think) was very helpful and greeted us at the door on our arrival. Very, very nice touch. Lovely location, literally one street and 2 minute walk away from being able to see the sea and a further 10 minute walk to the promenade and main centre. Thanks to our dealings with the staff, the lovely location, the beautiful smell coming from the cafe and the overall cleanliness of the room, we will 100% be looking to rebook.

Breakfast was amazing - a lot of choice and all cooked well. The bed was lovely and comfy. It was a muggy few days and having a fan in the room made a massive difference - thank you.

There was noise from the room next door which was annoying. We'd also expected a different room type based on the booking we made. We had a seating area but no settee (as expected). This wouldn't usually be an issue but due to an injury I had to stay on the bed in the day as the chairs weren't suitable for me. If you could clarify the layouts better on descriptions it would be appreciated.

I loved that the key was in a lock box outside of the hotel so I could let myself in - an easy way to check in and no machines or queues to wait in. The room was beautifully decorated and really surpassed my expectations. It is in a great location a short walk from station, a close walk to the sea and a quiet area with a Sainsbury's local just round the corner. We will definitely stay again. Also the bed and pillows were really comfortable. We felt like we were left alone to just enjoy our stay! They also let me leave my bags with them on check out day so I could enjoy the beach without them. We didn't eat there but the food smelt delicious and next time I am having the pancakes.

We were in room 1 which is on the ground floor opposite the breakfast area. At 8.00 it was really noisy as we could hear staff voices having conversations very loudly in room. It might be something to be mindful of - but it wouldn't stop us from staying and the staff are lovely.

Rowntree Lodge is about 15 - 20 min walk from the centre of Scarborough, 5 mins in a taxi from the station which we did so convenient as non drivers. We had a third floor double room ( so make sure your fit! ) ....very comfy bed and was very grateful for blinds and curtains as I'm a light sleeper. Also plenty of hot water and clean towels. Lovely choice of breakfast , hot and cold. It's a two minute walk to the view above South bay , I've attached the first photo I took to show the amazing view.😀

Only tiny problems: little bits of mould on shower seal and I know it's a bit trivial but their hand soap system is a bit bizarre and for someone with arthritic hands was a real challenge to use ( had to use my shower gel instead)!!!

We stayed at Rowntree Lodge 'in between' a Monday-Friday stay at Reighton Sands and a week's Airbnb in Whitby from Saturday afternoon - so we had some odd timings to be factored in! Staff were fantastic in letting us check in early and provided a 2-day scratch card parking pass for just £10 (we didn't need into our room yet, just a base and a place to park). The room was impeccably clean, big and comfy, with a sofa and bathroom. Location was ideal - less than 5 min walk to the funicular to the beach, 10 mins into town. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable price. There was a varied menu and the food was great. Staff were really friendly and accommodating and invited us to stay again - which we would not hesitate to do! Many thanks.

The room was extremely comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. There was an excellent breakfast, beautifully prepared. But no matter how good facilities are, all can be ruined by poor service - and I cannot praise the staff at Rowntree Lodge highly enough. We had a slight glitch over breakfast the first morning which was sorted out immediately and generously. They dealt with any requests and were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Staff make the stay, and that's why we like to stay here on our visits to Scarborough!

Honestly it's the partking issues which are not anything to do with the Lodge - they are most helpful in getting permits and so on - but I wish it was a bit easier!

Good location, not far to the beach and multiple attractions, easy to park, helpful staff and a lovely information book in your room. The room itself was nice and clean and had everything you would need, was a good size with lots of storage. Shops in walking distance for any supplies you might need. My partner loved that the room came with a fan and we both said the bed was very comfy.

The only issue we had with the room was although the shower was clean and a good pressure it only ran very hot or cold, hard to get a nice temperature.

We were delighted with our room - huge and very comfortable. Fantastic for the price we paid. Very friendly and well run. Breakfast was delicious - great range of choices. We were just using Rowntree Lodge as a one night stop on Cleveland Way so arrived lateish and left early. (So couldn't take advantage of closeness to the funicular because out of hours - but another plus point for most people) But will definitely be back for a more relaxed stay at some point. Noticed some delicious looking cakes on display too so worth a visit to the café during the day even if not staying. Highly recommended.

Situated on the South side of Scarborough near to the Spa. We found the street very quiet and so had a good sleep. The breakfasts are superb and luckily there are quite a few options as I don't want a huge full breakfast the Eggs Florentine was excellent. My husband said its the best sausage he's ever tasted and a beautiful full English. The room was large and airy with large bathroom & shower, toiletries and heavy towels. The owner was very welcoming, staff very always obliging and Sarah in the breakfast room (which is also a cafe once breakfasts are over) is the most bubbly happy and helpful person she could be on a morning - a lovely tonic. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Fabulous food, fabulous staff! There was nothing that was too much trouble for Sarah! Really nice, clean room with all amenities you could need. The bed was so comfortable, and I had no issues sleeping! The room was a really great size, the bathroom was clean and had shower gel, hand wash and big white soft towels too. Location wise, it was absolutely brilliant! A short walk to the front, where you could walk down the steps to the sea, or get the antique lift down. A really nice surprise, halfway down, with a children's adventure playground, which my 5 treat old daughter LOVED! Suitable for 3-12 year olds. 5 mins walk also from a little sainsbury's, for anything you might have forgotten, or for any snacks.

Genuinely there was nothing at all that I didn't like. We stayed for two nights, so got a feel for what was nearby. On the second day, we made sure that we had a late lunch, then just bought snacks and sandwiches to take back to the room for a light tea, rather than walk out for dinner again, as my 5 year old daughter was exhausted after a long day out!
