The hotel is centrally located in a safe area near a walking park which is close to the train station, several car parks, restaurants and pubs. They have parking in front of the hotel with several security cameras for a fee of £12 a day. The tasty full English breakfast was well worth the £10 for each of us staying at the hotel. The staff at the front desk, the bar/restaurant area and the especially the room cleaners where exceptionally accommodating. We will return again for our 4th hotel stay.

The hotel staff quickly corrected the minor issues we found during our hotel stay in a professional manner.

The property is a beautiful Edwardian building and very photogenic. The location is excellent, you can walk to anywhere in Scarborough fairly easily but I’d suggest pre reserving a car parking space at the hotel. Bed comfy, toiletries and towels provided. Staff absolutely lovely.

Not the hotels fault but they have struggled to get staff in for the kitchen which seems to be a general problem in the local area… No food was available in the hotel. However there is a lovely tea room across the road, Number seven. served the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had and it’s dog friendly 👍

As the name says the location is central but is also quiet. Only 5 to 10 minutes walk to rail station (and out of town bus stops) and, in the opposite direction, to the paths and cliff lift to the beach, Adjacent street has some very good quality restaurants (the Fish restaurant opposite and the Greek restaurant were excellent) plus a Wetherspoons near the far end. We had a large room with good bathroom and, although we did not see many staff, the room was very well serviced and tidied every day. Hotel lounge had a good selection of books with details and photos of Yorkshire scenic attractions. We did not book breakfast so cannot comment on it.

This hotel is located in a brilliant part of the town. Close to everything. Our room overlooking the park and sea was excellent. The room was beautifully furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The heating was excellent. The hotel lounges and bar were fabulous. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The staff were the highlight. Very efficient, friendly and helpful. Parking in Scarborough is at a premium but parking is available at the hotel for extra. Well worth it.

The restaurant was not operational whilst we were there but looks to be gorgeous when completed. We could only access wifi in the common areas but believe that is being rectified soon.

Room was a bit tired curtains hanging down picture missing from above the bed but fixings still there breakfast first morning didn’t happen van broke down 2nd morning service wasn’t the best 3rd morning much better actual food was nice. 3rd morning housekeeping staff outside our bedroom door chatting away loudly at 6.55am went on till I went to the door at 7.15am. They continued on and off up and down the stairs I manage a 63 bed hotel and certainly wouldn’t be letting this happen Over booked carpark not the greatest

It was a lovely old building and decorated to match the style of building. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed the towels were changed and tea/ coffee milk topped up each day

Only ever saw one member of staff and that was on arrival it seemed quite deserted . The room was very noisy through the night , it sounded like the air conditioning unit wasn’t working as it should although when we tried to stop it we noticed it wasn’t even switched on! Couldn’t find the source of the noise and when we were heading out the next morning there were no members of staff to ask about it. All said it didn’t stop us having a good weekend and we would stay again .

Beautiful building, spacious room comfortable bed and good pillows, top quality tea coffee hot choc and biscuits replenished every day, toiletries were lovely, nice to see housekeeping was provided again after covid, lots of hotels we have stayed in are not providing daily housekeeping. Mark on reception was lovely very helpful and a pleasure to talk to, a great asset to the hotel, we're booked again for October but need an accessible room, poor Mark was up and down the stairs to make sure the room was accessible, thankyou Mark

Trying to park, the hotel does have parking which has to be booked, my fault totally as I didn't, although the last night Mark kindly found us a spot

it was a special occasion so I booked the suite, which was a beautiful room. It is very spacious with a large bed, sofa, table and chairs, balcony and view of the sea across the park opposite the hotel. The interior of the hotel is lovely and very symphathetically decorated for a hotel of its age. The wallpaper throughout is amazing. The location is only slightly outside of town, in a lovely Georgian crescent. There is parking at the front of the hotel, which should accommodate most of the guests if people park close enough together. We mostly dealt with Mark (I think he said that as his name) who checked us in and served us at the bar, and dealt with making sure the parking worked for everyone. He was very friendly and helpful. There are two lovely lounges downstairs, one of which has the bar in and a beautiful dining room, but we didn't eat in the hotel. The check-in and check-out went smoothly and all the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful.

My only issue was not with any aspect of the hotel itself, but rather that whoever was staying in the (I assume equally sized room above us) seemed to be getting their steps in by constantly walking heavily backwards and forwards across the room from before 8:00am and were still doing it when we left the room around 09:10am.

The Central Hotel is an attractive historic building located in the heart of the town. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel reception rooms are spacious, comfortable and very interesting, giving the hotel a real 'country house' feel. The bedroom was clean, bright, comfortable and quiet (no kittiwakes). At the time of our visit the restaurant and kitchens weren't operating but I understand that they are currently being renovated. The location is simply perfect with the the railway station, Stephen Joseph Theatre, pubs, restaurants, shopping streets and access to the South Bay all within easy walking distance.

Nothing!

The Central far exceeded my expections. I travelled with my elderly grandmother, mum and a friend to celebrate a couple of birthdays and we were all blown away by how beautiful this hotel is. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, the rooms felt like we were staying in a palace and the genuinely lovely night porter was happy to serve us drinks after-hours without a word of complaint. We had the best night away and really feel that the Central provided the basis we needed for a good time to suit 3 generations. Best stay I've ever booked through Booking.com and all 3 generations want to come back asap!

Absolutely nothing!
