A wonderful hotel highly recommended! Exceptional rooms, pristine throughout, comfortable beds, plenty of space to move around, beautiful decor and furniture with local art prints to decorate. The bathrooms are spacious and so clean, I love being somewhere where it feels like no one has ever used it before me. Cafetier coffee pure luxury and very unexpected thank you. Lovely friendly staff, check in was quick and easy, we didn't use the bar or dining facilities but both looked equally as good. We've stayed here twice now over the last week on seperate occasions as we needed to be in the area to visit a family member in hospital. A wonderful stay both times nothing short of perfect for us. We definitely recommend it and will be back. Many thanks.

Absolutely nothing!

The rooms were nice and modern, staff were really friendly and breakfast was amazing and catered well for me being gluten-free. Would definitely stay there again

The staff were very helpful with the parking rules on our arrival. The size of the well furnished room with a very comfortable bed and all very clean. Breakfast on Sunday morning.

No breakfast Monday and Tuesday - a fact we knew but couldn’t change our plans - after sampling Sunday’s delicious offering we were very disappointed! A bit far out - didn’t realise until we arrived. A drink in the bar on our return to the hotel at night would have been lovely but the bar wasn’t open! Had I read the blurb more thoroughly I would’ve been aware of these things so please don’t tell me off Andy!

Great location for walking into town, comfortable bed, very clean room , lovely friendly staff

Breakfast was not included when we booked but the price reflected this, we paid for the breakfast on the first morning but we’re not keen on the homemade baked beans , continental style bacon and the fried soda bread instead of toast, just would have preferred a more traditional breakfast. Bed was comfortable although pillows were a bit hard, our bathroom door would not close, which wasn’t a big problem as I was staying with my husband.

Clean and comfortable. Great location. We will come back again at some point. But in a lower room. :-)

Our Room was number 14 , and it's at the top of the building with narrow steep curved steps to access it. The Room has a sloping Ceiling in the Bedroom and Bathroom due to the roof profile. We had to move the vanity table towards the middle of the bathroom floor because we kept banging our heads on the sloping ceiling when opening / closing the window. I'm 6ft tall. Everything's painted white, so you don't notice the slope. It could do with a "Mind your Head" sign.

This was our first trip to Scarborough and what a joy it was. Andy and the team at Chapel house were extremely welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel is beautifully decorated, using modern decor whilst keeping all the old features. Our room was really lovely and had everything we needed (the filter coffee was such a good touch). Breakfast was absolutely amazing, the black pudding was to die for!! Thank you so much 😊

i cant complain about anything at all. The only thing i would say is the tv could do with being on the wall to get a better view. ( thats not a complaint though)

Enjoyed breakfast on the day of leaving - short break of two nights with breakfast not available Owner and staff most pleasant. Very impressed with the interior decor and furnishing - entering from outside it felt as though we had entered the "Tardis" - the difference was surprising and most enjoyable.

For older folf with diabilities as ourselves, the climbing of several floghts of stairs was something of a challenge - perhaps morinformation could be available in the site advertising. Car parking a bit of an issue even after the disk system was explained and made available For ourselves the bath sides were too high to navigate for a shower and even the provision of a grab rail/s would not have been sufficient for safety.

The hotel was family run and it was lovely to see them all working together - our breakfast was filling and well presented - the hotel was clean - bed was huge and the room was a great size too and very comfortable. The only down side was the noisy road - but they gave us earplugs which was a nice touch! It didn’t hamper our stay at all

The noisy road - but that was helped with earplugs - it’s an old building so had original sash cord windows so even shutting them wasn’t a great help - plus it was a blooming hot weekend and we needed the through draft - I guess double glazing would help or maybe an aircon unit and the windows shut… but again it didn’t make us want to leave and we’d some back for sure

Room was absolutely stunning, huge for the price, lovely wee seating area. Everything was spotless, comfiest bed have slept in for a while. Location was a bit out but could walk into the centre in about 15 minutes, or buses from just outside. Was a little worried about noise as was right on a busy road and they had provided earplugs in the room - but with the window closed barely heard a peep at night. Great find, would have stayed longer.

Be aware a lot of steps, probably not ideal for people with mobility issues. Bathroom door was very hard to get to stay closed, think might need a slight tweak.

The staff were really lovely. The breakfast was excellent, with great variety and very reasonably priced. Nice comfy room, clean bathroom with good shower - and plenty of towels provided. The free WiFi service is faultless.

Had more of a feel of a guest house than a hotel, as there aren't staff on the premises 24 hours. The restaurant was only open till mid-day, for breakfast and brunch. The bar hours were limited - and the selection in the bar was not great. They shouldn't be selling multi-pack Budweiser clearly marked as "not for individual re-sale"!
