We booked Darcey’s in the yard as we were attending a wedding at Rise Hall which was only a 13 minute drive away. Paula was so helpful in communicating with us prior to our stay letting us know what was happening in the local area and providing us with advice to book taxis in advance. The accommodation itself was fantastic, completely self contained with everything you could need. Quiet with charming church bells, secluded and secure, we had such a wonderful stay. It’s exceptionally clean with gorgeous fluffy towels, lovely toiletries and snuggly dressing gowns. Being woken to a delicious warm continental breakfast was the best start to the day especially when nursing a sore head! Just a short car ride from the beach and beautifully quaint surroundings. Lovely place to stay, booked as we was at a family wedding nearby and didn't fancy the long taxi ride back to Hessle. The Owners was brilliant, sorted out our taxi's for travelling too & from the wedding venue (which was easier said & done last thing on a Saturday afternoon) Breakfast was continental, although i prefer a full english i couldn't fault it. Plenty of variety & the croissants was amazing (& warm) Bed was so comfortable, literally fell asleep as my head hit the pillow. Shower was lovely & powerful. Toilet was part of shower (as a wet room) due to making the most of the space. Not an issue, put a towel down to dry your feet afterwards (although there is a mat just outside the shower already) 100 out of 10

Absolutely nothing to fault!

This place is truly exceptional. Paula is a wonderful hostess and she looked after me and my husband as if we were dear friends. We received a very warm welcome and we were delighted to find that Paula had left welcome gifts of prosecco, cakes and chocolates in our beautifully decorated room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and The White Company bedding and toiletries were very classy touch. The garden is gorgeous and there is a lovely seating area surrounded by pretty flowers. The continental breakfast was delicious and very generous!

We are walking the English Coastal Path and sometimes struggle to find good value accommodation. So Darcey's was a wonderful surprise after a long day's walking. Quite simply the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Fantastic shower; comfortable bed; good quality continental breakfast, beautifully presented (and at silly o'clock in the morning because we had a long day ahead of us). There were lots of lovely little touches that made the stay special. The difference between an average B&B and a great one is the host - in this case, Paula. Fabulous, fabulous, place.

Paula and Steve were lovely and extremely accommodating hosts! The room was very nicely appointed, and the view out onto a little garden and over a wall into the churchyard was charming. Nice breakfast brought to the room. And Darcey (the dog) was adorable.

Nothing really! The only things to mention are that the shower arrangement is unorthodox, but it is a very nice shower! The room freshener was a bit too strong for me (I'm sensitive to smells) but we unplugged it and it was fine as well.

Amazing time had, Paula and Steve couldn’t do enough. Beautiful room absolutely spotless. A lovely welcome when we arrived. The room with Paula and Steve’s touches took my breath away. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. Definitely recommend and will be back as soon as we can. Most comfortable bed, great nights peaceful sleep.Centre of Hornsea lovely walk round and close to the beach. Everything we needed. Thank you 😊

This is my 3rd time staying with Paula & Steve - they remembered me & provided individual touches such as a lovely welcome back message & a beach towel as Paula knows I am a sea swimmer! So thoughtful - I feel completely safe here - quiet & comfortable with luxurious towels & bed linen & a breakfast tailored to my diet - thank you both X This is a great place to stay if you like the beach as there is outside space to dry your things & keep sand out! X

Staying at Darceys in the Yard was a wonderful experience. We were only there for one night after walking along the Trans Pennine Trail. All the facilities provided for us were for our comfort and well being. We loved the room and all the little extras like prosecco and chocolates on arrival. The shower room was luxurious and the quiet garden area was just what we needed. The breakfast was a sumptuous treat on our last day. Our hosts were very friendly and shared their knowledge of the area with us.

Absolutely Amazing value for money.Spotless in every way. Top quality ben linen and towels. The room is tastefully decorated with beautiful quirky furnishings. All your needs are catered for even down to umbrellas and hair straighteners! The hosts have truly thought of everything. Top quality continental breakfast with good produce delivered to your door at a time to suit you. The hosts were outstanding in every way and could not do enough for you. Beautiful garden overlooking the park and church to the side making a very pretty outlook. Outdoor private seating and even throws provided for a chilly evening. Location fabulous for town and pleasant walk to the sea front only 10 minutes away.Parking onsite. Definitely top quality in every way .Lovely little extras on arrival making you feel very welcome. Branded toiletries and beverages provided. Lovely glasses and cups again top quality and stylish.Very clean bathroom and great power shower. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Thanks kyla & Carl

Nothing.Everything was perfect.

Good location in centre of town but peaceful and Lovelyquiet, security gate. Lovely room, private pretty garden to sit when weather allows. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast superb, so much food, vegetarian by request. Paula and Steve couldn’t do enough to help make stay more comfortable.

Very little. Plugs tricky to access for charging phones etc for those less agile but that’s being very picky. Nothing else not to like.
