The breakfast choice was phenomenal, so much to choose from and plenty to eat and everything was well cooked and presented. The hosts were very welcoming and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We felt so relaxed and at home staying there, it was a pity we had to leave, but we’ll definitely be back!! The location was just a 5 minute walk to the town centre, and at night it was so quiet. The accommodation was fantastic, so plush, so clean and spotless, large size room, big comfortable four poster bed! The furnishings were so rich looking it just screamed high class. Everything was just so perfect we couldn’t have asked or needed more. There were even slices of home made cake left out for you to take with you on your journeys every day.( and again high praise must be given to Matt!) As I’ve said the hosts Matt and Leigh treated us so well we didn’t want to leave. We would definitely recommend you stay at The Allerdale Guest House. Almost forgot to mention the off road parking, very much appreciated.( there’s just so many great points, you will not regret your stay there.)

This is by far the best guest house we’ve stayed in. Mat and Leigh were amazing hosts, full of knowledge about the Lake District and as equally enthusiastic. The room was fantastic and very quiet. Mat makes the breakfasts and they are far and away the best breakfasts I’ve had. Freshly cooked and made with superb produce. We will be back again soon and are really looking forward to another stay here. Thank you Mat and Leigh.

What a beautiful B&B, very clean, comfortable, and cosy. There are tasty homemade complementary cakes for there guests, It's been decorated to a brilliant standard, it has lovely personal touches, which shows love and passion for there business. Matt is one of the hosts that welcome us to the B&B, gave us all the information we needed, he was very informative, and Leigh was our host for breakfast, Leigh is such a lovely host, and has such a warm welcoming personality, and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, and the breakfast was delicious, nice full belly for our long walk up Cat Bells I cannot wait to come here again on our next visit to the Keswick. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot pick any faults, me and my girlfriend enjoyed our stay, wish we had at least another night.

Mat and Leigh were the loveliest hosts, they were so helpful with recommendations for walks around Keswick (and even printed off maps and everything!) and things to go/places to eat in the area. The homemade bakes were delicious and I loved the traditional date loaf I had on my last day in particular! Breakfast was amazing with plenty of alternative options apart from the standard full English (which was also really good), I especially enjoyed the salmon breakfast. The guesthouse was perfectly located, close to town and also a good starting place for various walks around Keswick, which is such a beautiful place. It's the perfect base for someone who wants to visit the Lake district but doesn't/can't drive, there are so many places you can go and walks you can do without a car (and there's always the Launch if you get too tired). My room was lovely, a great place to rest and recover after a long day walking. The bed was also very comfy! Thank you, I had the best time and I hope to be back again soon!

Loved our 3 night stay in this beautiful guesthouse. The house is gorgeous and close to everything. Out room was cozy, comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean and the breakfast is fantastic with anything you could want. Best of all Leigh and Mat are amazing hosts and gave us so many tips on how to make the most of our short stay and every recommendation was fantastic. My only regret is I only booked 3 nights. We will definitely book again next time we visit the Lakes.

Everything was fantastic, Leigh and Mat were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble, their hospitality and customer service was outstanding! Our room was spacious, had everything we needed and was decorated beautifully. The house was spic and span throughout. A freshly prepared breakfast was available every morning with plenty of cold and hot options including quality local produce... Absolutely delicious! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

good location for Keswick centre and walks. Lovely breakfast, lots of options and very friendly hosts. Daily complimentary slices of homemade cake a lovely touch. Slept well on a very comfy bed. loved the original decor !

Nothing really, but the wardrobe didn't have a storage shelf and only 2 very slim drawers, so some more drawers would be welcome, but that's nit picking! We personally aren't keen on espresso coffee machines and would have loved some box standard nescafe, but that's just us!

Fantastic place, great location and brilliant hosts! We liked the variety of breakfast selection and the complimentary cakes every day kept us going on our walks! Mat and Leigh were very kind hosts and always ready to help. They even went out of their way to provide us with a number of restaurants for our Sunday lunch 🙂

A beautiful place to stay. Our room was decorated very tastefully, with a gorgeous 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. The ensuite has been renovated tastefully and had a wonderful bath in it. Proximity to town was great and the owners such helpful & accomodating hosts.

TV placement was awkward for watching, other than in bed?

Great location; near enough to be convenient for town, but lovely and quiet. Fantastic breakfasts, with a wide range of choices, even the brand of tea. Nothing was too much trouble for Mat and Leigh, we were made very welcome.

No improvements are necessary. Leigh made it clear that if there was anything we needed, we simply had to ask.
