I really liked the accomodation the shepherds hut was a fabulous place to stay as a solo traveller, it was clean warm and cosy and it was very quiet and felt very safe & secure & I would definitely love to visit & stay again. There's no TV in the room which is perfect to just be able to relax and unwind with a book and a radio. The hosts were wonderful and were really helpful & they made a great cooked breakfast & I was able to sit outside in the wonderful garden & sit in the sun & enjoy the views of Skiddaw.

I think a little later checkout would be good for guests & possibly an earlier breakfast.

The property was set in a wonderful location. The Garden was beautiful and wrapped around the property. The house was large and designed really well. The collection of art work was impressive. The overall feeling of the house was cosy and warm. Our individual room was excellent. Very spacious and a lovely view of Skiddaw. The Hosts were incredible, Clive and Caroline served breakfast really smoothly and went over and above with any other requests. It’s a lovely place to stay and with two of the nicest hosts around.

Very friendly hosts, we’re always happy to stop and chat and offer tips around the local area. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Probably one of the best breakfasts we have had at a b&b, a lot of options and very tasty locally sourced food. On arrival we were greeted with a cuppa and some cake which went down a treat. Beautiful gardens and our room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the amenities like the array of tea which was offer in our room. Loved how all toiletries were locally sourced just like the produce. We also loved how there was super king beds and our lake view room.

Could have done with a curtain over the blinds. My partner is a very light sleeper and was woken up every morning from the light escaping through the corners of the blinds. However, this didn’t bother me as I sleep well.

We visited the place early June'23. The hosts are such great people. From sharing the directions to the place and checking with us our food preferences before our arrival, made it all seamless. The property is beautiful and warm. We had the most amazing breakfast each morning in their beautiful garden area cooked by the hosts themselves. It was truely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful stay with them.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We arrived late but they we welcoming. Lots of information about the area. The location is good to start walks and is in a quiet area but with local pubs etc. The bed was very comfortable, important after a long days walk. plenty of tee , coffee and fresh milk in the room. Breakfast is aa extensive choice covering most breakfast items.

Eating breakfast outside is amazing. Owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. There's a lake within walking distance to do water activities.

It would be helpful to have someone available at all times during the check in period incase of issues with the key safe, or if not be available on the phone.

EVERYTHING. There was homemade ginger cake (best I've ever had) delicious produce for breakfast, great chats, wonderful art, books and decor plus Clive and Caroline were the most amazing hosts. The garden and flowers were so beautiful and location perfect. And to top it all off, our dog was allowed to stay.

Lovely B&B close to everything you would need with a beautiful view of Skiddaw from our bedroom window! Hosts were so kind and helpful, nothing was too much to ask of them; they made our stay feel like a home away from home. Also, the breakfast was delicious! Would really recommend this B&B to fellow Lake District explorers!

Excellent place, the room and facilities were great, Caroline & Clive were very friendly and accommodating providing useful knowledge about activities in the area, breakfast was great with lots of locally sourced options, and the location was perfect for access to Keswick and surrounding areas.

Caroline and Clive were really good hosts. We were given the option to choose another room that was available and it was a nice view of the lake. Room was clean with all amenities. Freshly prepared breakfast with good selection. Hosts gave us tips to travel around the area.
