Breakfast, like all the food was excellent quality.

Slight mistake on day 1 breakfast when no tea arrived. Would have preferred tea earlier, but clearly had been forgotten. On day 2 breakfast our breakfast was delivered to wrong table and several minutes later was taken from wrong table and presented to us. Slightly disappointing as my wife had to wait for hers to be cooked again. On reflection I should have requested a fresh breakfast too as mine was not as hot as it should have been. It would have been better once error was realised if a new breakfast had been cooked without having to request it.

Breakfast was good and no issues Location is alright but a good 15mins drive away from Keswick Dinner was nice but the cheapest meal option was 19.95! seems a little expensive but it was good and nothing wrong with the service etc. very dog friendly which was a massive bonus to us.

Meals were to expensive and I wouldn’t want to stay more than one night as it’s to far to walk to the main town. But that’s us we like to stay near the town! But it was a nice place and for one night it was good, just a little expensive for what it is. The room was a family room which we didn’t ask for, we wanted a double. It was £140 plus the expensive meals so added up to over £200 for one night.

Location, views, service, food, access to ferry, lakeside walks, Buttermere (unmissable) waterfall walks, mountain walks, there was so much to love about this place. Food was excellent - breakfast and dinner (we didn't have lunch there but it's also available) with good portion sizes. Would want to come back for more.

Only minor things - Breakfast finishes relatively early at 9.30, no cell signal, son had issues as he wanted to work remotely on one of the days. One of the rooms was noisy with rushing water in the pipes. Just to be aware - there was no microwave pantry or sink though we were ok with the kettle in the room. A few things in the design of the room could be better - doors would slam loudly, bathroom had no lock, toilet flush would take a long time to stop.

Location fantastic, a beautiful hotel, well maintained by freindly helpful staff. Food was excellent, well presented with just the right quantity.Service by staff at all meal times was great, very efficient & helpful

Hotel is dog friendly,we did not have a dog so felt that some owners were a little non respectful in some of the public areas. The majority of owners were responsible & had well trained dogs around the hotel. Our room was excellent but in the entrance area there was a slight wet dog aroma which initially was a little off putting, hotel staff put a plug in fragrance diffuser in this area which cured the issue. This was the only issue that we could see to mark the hotel down slightly but didn't affect our stay!

The rooms are lovely, very comfortable and luxurious. Staff were brilliant, food was amazing; huge portions and they even delivered breakfast to our room one morning! The location was fantastic for what we needed (a wedding at the nearby Lodore Falls spa). Great outdoor seating, loved seeing all the dogs hanging out - just good vibes all round. Comfy bed, high-quality toiletries, great jetty nearby if you fancy a swim!

There was a lot of noise at the front of the hotel where our room was. The walls and doors are so thin that we could hear people talking next door and on the corridor, along with the housekeeping staff in the mornings and even a delivery of sheets via courier being unloaded. At night we had to have the windows open because it was hot, and anyone walking or driving past on the gravel was noisy, too. It made it hard to sleep. Wish I’d brought earplugs but wasn’t expecting so much noise. The water pressure was also not great but didn’t bother us too much. Also, the Wifi was practically non-existent, which was annoying as I planned to do some work on the Sunday.

Excellent location overlooking the lake. Good sized room with a double bed and a single bed. Good sized bathroom with high power shower. Good breakfast and evening meal with gluten free options. Staff were pleasant.

There was some confusion over what foods were gluten free. The bar tender who took the food order said that the chips were gluten free and cooked in a separate fryer. Luckily, another member of staff walked by and overhead the conversation and said that both fryers were being used to cook foods containing gluten, as the kitchen was busy. The same mistake was made by the breakfast staff in the morning. After I was informed that the hash browns were gluten free, I asked the waitress to check if they were fried in a separate fryer. I did not receive a answer, but my breakfast arrived without hash browns. I would have welcomed the offer of the hash browns being cooked by an alternative method. All in all though, a lovely hotel in picturesque surroundings.

The view from the restaurant/breakfast area was the best part of the whole stay, including the bird feeders and all the songbirds right outside the window. Location is quiet and right on Derwentwater. Room was somewhat small but there is a conservatory area with seating where we could sit with our dog and enjoy a drink. Great value for money and we would definitely stay here again. We thought the Sunday roast dinner was quite good.

At times the wifi was pretty slow but really not an issue since we weren’t visiting the Lakes District to stare at our phones.

The location is unbeatable and taking breakfast in the dining room each morning,in that fabulous setting surrounded by all the birds, was an experience we will never forget. Also all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The Hotel is spotless and the breakfasts are excellent.

The only disappointment for me was the size of our room..If we’d have known how small it was we wouldn’t have booked it,but I’m glad did because everything else made up for our disappointment. There were what appeared to be two single beds put together to form one extremely large bed(which was great, very comfortable!)However the room was only about 9’ wide so we had about 18” either side of the bed which is very cramped. Also the room was only large enough to accommodate one chair so one of us had to sit on the bed.Consequently we spent very little time in the room which is a shame because a nice spacious room, for us,is an important part of our holidays. However the en suite was nice ,the bed was very comfortable

We loved the large room with views up Derwent Water and the large outdoor deck next to a garden area ( room no. 40). The furnishings were very comfortable and included a small table and chairs by the view window. The bathroom had floor heating and the shower was a good size , hot water and with great water pressure. The well staffed restaurant is very large and included a separate section for hikers and people with dogs . The breakfasts were nice and the dinner menu had lots of options and prices very reasonable . The restaurant has lovely views across to the lake and mountain backdrop. The proximity ( about two hundred metres) to the Lodore ferry landing was very convenient and provided an opportunity to do a delightful Derwent Water walk by using the ferry to transfer to another location and walking back to the hotel. There is lots of free parking right at the hotel.

The Location was wonderful the breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Evening meals were good to very good maybe to many dishes with chips .Hotel room clean and well serviced Hotel Staff were good.

I was asked to pay in advance when I arrived for the 7 day accommodation which I have never been requested to do before in 50 years of travel.Against my better judgement I did do so and it was fine but I don't think I would do that again as your paying for something you have not had when you arive.
