Car park. Proximity to Keswick. Bar open until 12 midnight. The view of the hills was beautiful from room 5. The coffee shop down the road which did an excellent breakfast. The girl serving in the bar on the Saturday night was very friendly. The bar was comfortable and had a cosy warm feel to it.

At £135 per night for room only I thought it was a bit over priced. The room was nice but not luxurious. The bathroom walls need a freshen up with paint and the edges need a good clean/dust. When I booked it said breakfast was available at the pub however, on arrival we were informed they no longer offered breakfast as it wasn't worth their while.

Food was OK, but nothing special.

Big downer was no breakfast. On initial enquiry was told we like to give business to cafes in Braithwaite a boost. Only one and that wasn't a good experience. On day of leaving local shop was late opening and had to wait an hour for breakfast to be baked. This added extra pressure having to leave by 1000 hrs, therefore, a breakfast would benefit the Royal Oaks business. Would like to stay again, if a breakfast was provided.

The room we stayed was very clean and decorated to a very high standard, Beautiful views from the windows. The staff were amazing and so helpful. The pub/bar was great with plenty of seating areas inside and great outdoor garden area, also a few parking spaces for patrons. There is a bus stop close by that you can get a bus direct to Keswick. Lovely village 1 cafe and 1 shop. Would defo visit again.

Disappointed at the time of our stay that they were unable to offer breakfast.

The room my husband and I stayed in was newly refurbished and absolutely lovely. The beds were extremely comfortable as were the pillows and bedding. The new oak furniture finished the room off perfectly. We were very impressed with the en suite too, although maybe a couple more hooks for towels would be handy. All in all we were very happy with our accommodation.

Nothing, apart from maybe a couple more hooks in the bathroom and another shampoo and conditioner wouldn't go amiss.

The staff were friendly, hospitality was good, the overall stay was very good, location was great for hikes and adventure activities

The only downside was they didn't do breakfast, but recommend a cafe 2 minutes walk away, which was really nice, and although the bedroom was cosy, comfortable and clean, we found the room was too hot with no heating on, apart from that the stay was great!

Lovely property, friendly attentive staff, beautiful setting, right in the heart of where we wanted to walk, Newlands is stunning, we’re going back to climb one those hills, apologies for the pics but I didn’t take any of the rooms which were lovely but I would stay in a wooden shack for those views

£120 with NO breakfast although had a nice tea there

Good location, we were able to go for a quick "hike" on a near hill. Very nice surroundings and lovely personnel. Room was tidy.

We got a room right above the kitchen and we could smell something burnt. However this was a last minute booking so I guess we were lucky to even get a room. For one night stay it was really good.

Great stay over Easter weekend in the royal oak. Very convenient to have parking and restaurant/pub on site! The staff were very welcoming and rooms are recently renovated. We look forward to come again to the Royal Oak! P. S. Be sure to look up the address beforehand as there are several royal oaks in the area 😉

The Royal Oak was lovely, in a great location and the facilities were very nice x

Although it wasn't a major issue, it would've been nice to be made aware of the live music being on, on the evening of our stay. Luckily we were able to still have an earlyish night as we had had a long day out enjoying the area and were pretty tired x
