all of it . room with a lake view , milk in the fridge , breakfast but ran out of salmon first 2 days . Fillet steak was the best

we felt i bit mislead by how the SPA was portrayed when we booked . We believed that use of the pool and one SPA treatment was complimentary but found with our room it was not . i don't think that was clear . We were never going to pay £35 each to use the pool which is disappointing . We were on our Honeymoon and had choosen the Hotel because Derwent is our Favourite Lake . I asked for a quiet table in the restaurant because we are newly weds but got placed in the middle of the restaurant . i requested this by email in advance .

Wonderful location and views, providing a touch of luxury. We had a lovely view from our room, which was clean and comfy and provided a coffee machine. The hotel itself is set against a waterfall and has a wonderful spa, which is a must.

I think for the price of the accommodation spa access should be cheaper for guests, or at least include 1 drink. Reference to confirm the spa was a little rude - TWAT5. Reception staff could have been more accommodating, they make you feel as though you have disturbed their break when coming out to the desk, upon cancelling a restaurant reservation the lady hung up the call.

The beds were incredibly comfy & we had a lovely view of the spa & outdoor pool. There was plenty of hot water & the heating was needed as it was very cold outside. Our first meal at Mizu was excellent; very attentive staff, an interesting menu and a relaxing ambience but not too quiet. Bar prices were similar to local pubs.

Breakfast was nearly cold on our first morning & the mistakes with the ordering were ridiculous. I asked for smoked salmon & scrambled eggs with a slice of lemon on the side. ‘You want bread on the side?’ asked the waitress. I repeated my order & 10 minutes later was presented with a plate of smoked salmon - nothing else. I am still nonplussed. On day 2 my husband’s porridge was inedible but my full English was actually hot. Let’s not mention the avocado on toast on day 3… On our last morning we cut our losses & ate in Keswick. we didn’t manage to find a decent cup of coffee the whole time we were there - cold, weak & unpleasant. I know there are staffing issues the 2nd week of January, and we were on a reduced price deal, but a decent breakfast should still be available.

We loved the rustic romantic room, with large balcony and fireplace. The view of the lake was amazing, the sounds of the stream and the majestic gardens was something out of a movie The spa was so fun, and the soak in the heated pool at sunset was perfectly romantic. Top tip set your alarm an hour before sunrise, get your self up and be in wonder of the perfect night sky. You might just be lucky enough to see a shooting star or 10! 5mims walk to the right and you can start one of the most idelic walks ever.

OK so I'm being picky, but more information regarding the walk and local area (we found it by luck) We would have loved a more personalable experience with staff, I understand the hotel isn't an Inn and traffic of guests is at a constant flow. The amazingly funny gent working the spa bar is a perfect representation of how all staff could be. And his banter got us to indulge way more on bubbly then we planned. Loved him.

The atmosphere of the hotel is lovely, good staff, great location for walking or exploring by car, excellent good in the restaurant, great breakfast.

We were in a Classic room,(125) but on either side of us were dog friendly rooms, which I think is unacceptable ,on our last night one of the rooms in the early morning (6am) a dog stated barking for a good 15 minutes, which we think is unacceptable, we should have been asked if it was ok for us,we have been to this hotel of and on for many years,and never been placed hear dogs before, it's a shame as as it spoilt the last night of our stay.

we loved our stay here the place was gorgeous, we loved the spa and restaurant,breakfast was lovely and the best thing was sone if the staff where so lovely not only to us as a couple but our beloved dog paco.

the only disappointment while we where there was the wake up call from the fire alarm at 6.30am on Sunday morning and the fact nothing extra was done for my husbands birthday.

room was too hot could hear people early hours of the morning breakfast wasn’t very warm had to pay to go in pool area even if you had paid to stay in the hotel

The location was stunning! truly relaxing and gorgeous. The breakfast had a great selection and the atmosphere was chilled in the hotel. Very close to Keswick about a 5 minute drive, but still secluded enough to feel like you was in the middle of no where. The Spa was lovely and the restaurants in the hotel supplied amazing food.

Not much not to like but I thought since it was a dog friendly hotel they could let the dogs in the bar area, there is a seating area where pets are allowed but i don't see the harm in also allowing them into the bar.

The breakfast was very good. Enjoyed being able to go and help ourselves to cereal, juices, fruit, yoghurts and pastries. There was also a good selection of hot breakfasts. For the evening the Pan Asian Restaurant was a really nice change. The standard of food was excellent.

The location was amazing, the rooms were very spacious, the food was very good too.

I thought for such a luxury hotel the staff were a bit of a let down. The service just wasn’t up to scratch especially in the restaurant.
