Sandford Springs Hotel and Golf Club

I booked a three night stay here, recently. The hotel was great, all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very inviting, each morning.

On Saturday night, there was a wedding reception, so the hotel was full. On Sunday morning, breakfast in the dining room was a bit chaotic. It was very busy, with guests being told they'd have to come back in 30 mins, and HOPEFULLY there'd be a table free. If the hotel knew they were full, a few more tables could have been set. Just a small issue, which didn't affect me, but I felt sorry for the other guests who had to wait.

Serene environment and very comfortable room. The breakfast was delicous. Service is top notch. The air con in my room struggled on a hot summer night but was ok otherwise. The food at the clubhouse was nice albeit a limited menu. The huge grounds meant there was no traffic noise and it felt like a private estate. Unlimited car parking which is very secure. Countryside location is nice. Great rooms/beds/bedding. Very good Value for money.

The breakfast was good for the wedding party but the people who stayed the night before got a wider/better choice than us. The location and facilities were great and there was plenty of free parking. Our room was very spacious, clean and well appointed

The cost of the drinks at the bar was extortionate and the receipt I received when I settle the bill didn't list all the drinks correctly so was unable to understand if I had been overcharged or not!! Some areas of the hotel were very cold but the room's heater worked fine. However, our room was located on the ground floor right next to the kitchen and laundry room so it was noisy at times

Location was great. Close to Highclere and Basingstoke which is what we wanted. Our room was large, bed super comfortable and the view over the golf course was fabulous. The breakfast was really good and staff very pleasant. Easy on site parking. Perfect for our one night stay!

Nothing. Everything was lovely although we preferred to eat in Kingsclere (2 mins away) rather than have dinner at the Golf Club which was the only option available at the hotel.

Breakfast is way too expensive.thats the most expensive Breakfast we've paid for.£10 for a bowl of porridge and orange juice was too expensive.went somewhere else and got full English bowl of porridge a bowl of fruit and 4 large glasses of orange for £10.i confused as to its £10 for breakfast if you order the night before buy its £16 if you order it in the morning.very steep.

We arrived late on a Sunday due to car issues and the bar and food had closed. However, a very helpful member of staff brought some food to our room. The next day, still having issues with our car and needed a screwdriver. The helpful maintenance man on the golf course lent us one so that we could get going again.

Only there overnight as on way to ferry terminal. Cannot really comment on this.

Clean, comfortable and larger than average hotel room. It felt a bit ‘special’ there and the breakfast room was lovely, good modern decor and olenty of food choces

The only issue we had was with the heat in the restaurant at the lower end of the car park. This is part of the golfers’ clubhouse. The huge picture windows give great views across the course but the room was too warm to eat comfortably in there, even with a side door open. Otherwise the food was very good quality and drinks average price.

We booked a double bed, it was actually 2 singles put together. The join between the 2 was particularly uncomfortable & affected nights sleep. Some grouting and the mastic in the shower needs attention to get rid of the black mould marks.

super clean, facilities were new, modern and of good standard. the basics were there. iron and ironing board were super clean, the breakfast facilities whilst advertise open at 07:00 opens early. whilst menu choices are limited they cater well for gluten free and are of a quality much higher than some priggish big name hotels

The atmosphere if the hotel and staff were really friendly. we thought we booked for breakfast, but on the 2nd morning we were told we hadn't the manager didn't charge us for the breakfast we has in the 1st morning and said we could have breakfast the 2nd morning fir half price.

The only thing we weren't happy about qas with Booking.com not putting breakfast on our booking when we pacifically asked for it
