A lovely country pub with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The room was very quiet and comfortable for a family of three. The food and drinks at the bar downstairs were excellent, the menu had a great variety and all of our meals were delicious. It was good to see that it was visited both nights by the locals which is always a good sign.

Not a downside as such but the room was a little tired. Could do with some updating, mainly in the bathroom

The Furze Bush is your perfect English Country Inn! The pub is adorable, the breakfast was perfect and cooked to order! We enjoyed drinks on the lawn, played with dogs that others who’d stopped in for a pint brought! Room was comfortable and spacious compared with city hotel rooms. It is also just a 10 min ride from Highclere Castle. We booked a roundtrip with “Take me home James” car service and these whole event was exceptional!

Some folks in my group can’t live without TV, cable service was a little spotty.

lovely room comfy beds, everything you needed really. breakfast was good and nice it’s included in price. we also had food at dinner which was really nice. staff really friendly especially young guy behind bar very nice and helpful.

one thing we mentioned while there is we didn’t have any coffee in room apart from decaf. when we asked girl as bar in the morning she had no idea about the rooms so had to wait till breakfast to have one when breakfast is 9 would have been nice to have one prior to then. if your going to need a taxi forget its so expensive nothing around area unfortunately, we had a wedding and no one would take us back maybe just a bit rural to come to.

A little dated but lovely setting ,staff very friendly and helpful. Was a little too far from where we needed to be, but that was our fault. Shame it rained all weekend be beautiful with good weather. With a few tweaks it be a great place.

Slightly dated

Very pleasant country pub near to Newbury. Bar & restaurant very well maintained, clean, bright and tidy. Comfortable bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Pleasant bar staff. Nice gardens with tables outside. Totally quiet on a country road.

Nothing

The location was perfect for visiting the Battle Proms at Highclere. It is a 15-20 minute taxi ride away. The breakfast was very good, it was all cooked fresh. Cereals,Fruit and Yoghurts were also on offer with ample tea and coffee.

Lovely, characterful local pub with rooms in a quiet, country location. The rooms are set well back from the bar area so no issues with noise. My room was basic but newly decorated and comfortable, and had air conditioning. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely breakfast.

Shower room/toilet needs updating to same standard as rest of room (although actually the shower was very powerful and effective). Pillows a little soft for my preference (but I’m fussy about pillows).

It was a delightful location with very friendly service. The room and facilities were excellent. The on site restaurant had an extensive any pleasing menu

Not being able to stay longer

The stay was good and the rapport I had with one waiter was pretty Good, unfortunately I realised I didn't ask his name. He was personable and the banter was spot on for us. Would be happy to refer other people to the hotel and would like to stay again. Breakfast was on point, shame about no Black pudding.

There were some minor issues with the finishing in the bathrooms, room 6 bathroom, the seal on the bath tub needed repairing.

very comfortable and friendly English country pub good food , good parking, very accessible. the team were very obliging and accommodating. fabulous

only one minor issue, the shower in the bathroom did not have a detachable head so having a shower without wetting your hair is very difficult. and oh why does nobody provide a bar of soap.
