Good location, good price for the area. Room is small but as expected. Room was clean. Tea and coffee with plenty of biscuits.

There are some basic facilities missing, no hair dryer, no iron or ironing board, not even to borrow from the bar. No glasses for water, I borrowed 2 from the bar. The rooms are in a separate block in the car park so if the pub is busy there's nowhere to park. If you're in a downstairs room then the people upstairs can be very noisy as the floor/ceiling seems uninsulated. There is one small window opening onto the car park so if it's a hot night there's no air circulation.

Parked car up. Went to room, changed and then if wanted could have had food (already eaten) but had drink until approximately 11pm. Met some really nice people in the pub and the great bit was able to walk to my room without driving. I personally had a great time and the room was adequate for the one night I stayed.

This is not a criticism but the staff obviously look after their regulars first, totally understand. A bit more interaction from the staff ie, ask if everything is okay, general chat and that would have made a bit more interaction as a single traveller. Totally understand that the staff do not know who is staying at the accommodation. Other than that had a great time.

The room was cosy, warm and very clean. Located right by the train station. The food in the pub was lovely and very reasonably priced. We nicknamed it the cosy mini cottage.

I would have preferred to park my car right outside the mini cottage to buffer some of the noise. When the pub was clearing it was a frosty night and someone was revving their engine for quite a while and loud talking for around 10 minutes. Luckily my daughter didn't wake up. That was the only thing.

Staff was very accommodating. Rooms were clean. Restaurant prices were reasonable, and generous breakfast portions.

Consider providing a fan in the upstairs rooms during the summer and an anti-slip shower mat for the tub. Very tall people may prefer to take a bath due to shower's low ceiling, though this is part of the historic structure's character and charm.

Room was great, wasn’t huge but perfect for what was needed and had character, room was warm but cooled down once I had figured how to open the windo. Breakfast was great and staff both on arrival and breakfast were a pleasure. Had been concerned based on other reviews but had nothing to worry about!

Yes the noise from upstairs was a little loud but lasted minutes and it’s expected from an old building and was the result of guests coming back from a wedding, soon settled down.

The room was clean and very handy for us being at ground level so we had no difficulty in getting our large suitcases into the accommodation. Parking was free and virtually next door to the room. Again very good for us.

Being a public house it was a little noisy for a while but not enough to spoil our stay and we had a very good night's sleep.

Comfortable bed and pillows. Clean fluffy towels. Practical for our one night stay. Food in pub was nice. We had dinner and breakfast.

It was very warm weather and a fan would have been good as windows very small. Window sill had lots of dead bugs in it. Table at breakfast was very sticky like it hadn’t been cleaned from the night before.

I liked the fact that there were 3 types of breakfast with plenty choice in each section All the staff we met were friendly, helpful and pleasant

I couldn't stand up in the shower due to the sloping ceiling. As we were only staying one night, this wasn't a huge issue A bath mat would be a good idea as we had to use a hand towel to stand on

I stay at The Swan at least six times per year and I must stay over the last six months or so overall standards have improved so much compared to 2021 and before. Rooms have been modernised, mine was very clean and food quality is very good. Would now highly recommend.

Nothing very pleased with everything

It is what it is Marston's pub with accommodation food was fine, accommodation was clean and tidy a little dark but pleasant enough for a night's stay compact and functional

For the money a lovely place to stay, it is what it is, the staff although young were pleasant enough and helpful perhaps too eager to please for staying guests. Olde world accommodation not recommended for anyone above 5'9" or you'll have to duck a lot 😉. Clean tidy and worth it if you don't mind trains and level crossing. Didn't bother me really didn't notice it after a couple of beers.
