Charming old hotel. Looks a bit dated but it is old. It is well located in Kirkcudbright and no parking problems - outside the hotel or across the road always available. Enjoyed sitting on the footpath out the front with a drink and chips watching the local community. Room 8 was large for a hotel room and the bathroom was extra large. Window looks out on the Celtic cross and park across the road. All staff were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to assist. The tariff was good compared with other bookings in the UK.

Bright blue paint on facade. Steep winding stairs - but staff carried my heavy suitcase up to the second floor. No lifts makes it difficult for those with mobility issues.

It was exactly as described. We had the family room at the top, which had 2 double beds in, and it was a good size. There was a large en suite bathroom. Everything was clean. TV had Netflix on which pleased the kids. Was kept well-informed and they got in touch to advise us to book if we wanted a meal, as it was nearly fully booked (and it was!). Had a nice dinner there and could sit outside with the kids in the courtyard. And it was on the High Street so very central to everything. In the morning, we had a nice breakfast made to order, and very nice woman serving it. We would recommend it and would book it again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a chance to talk extensively with the owner, Nish, and hear about his journey to becoming the Inn Keeper/owner. He gave us insight into the community and the level of support they provided during the lockdown. It's a 230 year old inn and he and his partner have done a lot to upgrade and renovate the facilities. The full Scottish breakfast was very good. The pub was filled with local people - which, to us, is a sign of a good place! The location is right in the middle of town and there are lots of art galleries and pubs. We definitely recommend it and would stay there again, as it provides a great experience of a small local Scottish inn.

Internet access in the rooms was sporadic. While not a problem, given the age of the hotel, there was no lift (elevator).

Lovely room and facilities. We visited on a night when the restaurant was closed but the exceptionally lovely staff allowed us to eat our takeaway in the bar and provided all we needed. The owner is a really nice chap and chatted to us for ages hence a further glass of their lovely house white 😀 Breakfast was very nice in their bright and cheerful conservatory. Would definitely go back and hiigjly recommend

The owner and staff of the hotel were extremely friendly, helpful and professional at all times. The breakfast was exceptionally good, freshly cooked and served beautifully. The location of ther hotel was perfect for exploring the area.

I was slightly disappointed that evening meals in the hotel were not available but I was assured this was a temporary measure, however there are other places to eat and I recommend "The Garret" which is about five minutes walk.

Lovely room, had everything you needed. It was lovely and clean. The staff were great really helpful. The breakfast was amazing! Really great place to stay right in the centre of town. Highly recommend. Will definitely stay there again. One tip is if you are staying on a Wednesday or Thursday the hotel was not open for food. Not sure if that is a regular thing. If it is highly recommend you book somewhere to eat in advance as a lot of the restaurants in town were fully booked!

The location was perfect, the room was large and the bed was as comfortable as they get in the UK. The price was good and parking was easy. It's close to a couple of breakfast/brunch places as well. We would stay here again.

The restaurant wasn't as good as we would have liked. The Selkirk Arms isn't far away though so that's easily fixed.

Our trip was for the purpose of going to Galloway where my McClellan and Seaton family originated. A lifetime wish. I initially chose the Kirkcudbright Bay Shore Hotel because of its close proximity to MacLellan Castle. Our hosts, Lisa and Nish made our stay most memorable in their historic and tastefully restored property. The food was exquisite and some of the best on our wonderful journey. Salute to the chef 👨‍🍳

The quaint pub is attended by a faithful local regulars. At first, I was hesitant to crowd in. But wife and I did and have great memories of that intimacy as well. I hope that can possibly return and highly recommend to others. Plan for an extended stay of charm and warm with kindness.

More choice,no fruit, only two cereals, hot breakfast was one egg,one ration of bacon, one sausage, one piece of black pudding. We were not asked if we wanted more of the items if we decided to drop say a sausage off that we could have more bacon or an extra egg.

Evening meal menu did not change during our five night stay.
