Friendly staff all around, food was lovely and of good size portions whether from breakfast or through the day. Room was of excellent size and layout, lots of storage space. Good WiFi and TV services, large bath in the room was amazing idea and great way to chill out. Great prices.

No towels which we thought was an oversight but when there wasn't any on the 2nd day we bought some whilst we were out. The only things there were hand towels which didn't get changed they were just hung up on the radiators. Strangely out of the curtesy refreshments there was no water and for teas and coffees there was no spoons. We were above a side exit and around midnight it was slammed shut which was very loud.

Excellent location within easy walking distance of everything in the town . Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. They stored our eBikes securely overnight which was a great bonus. Food was superb ..the best we found throughout our stay in the Borders. Room was comfortable, clean and with good facilities.

Only slightly different thing was the glass shower cubicle in the actual bedroom as opposed to being in a separate bathroom...not a problem...just a little odd.

at Breakfast there was great selection of choice from Porridge to full Scottish, including Haggis. as well as toast, fruit juices and coffees/teas.

the only comment I can make is that I stayed for 2 nights and I expected the coffees/teas in the room was not replenished or the bed made for when I returned from a long day out Kayaking. But this in no way puts down the service or accommodation supplied as it was comfy and clean. great shower and bathroom supplies

The staff were lovely and friendly. The beer garden is beautifully situated and comfortable with an outdoor screen to watch sports. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very tasty. Very competitive prices. Rooms were lovely and clean.

Wasn't really sold on the shower cubicle, which was situated IN the bedroom along with the wash basin. Came out of ou room in the morning to the overwhelming smell of cannabis which we discovered was coming from a group of football supporters at the entrance, waiting on their bus to the game.

The room we stayed in was an excellent size, with plenty of wardrobe space, desk space, a basic tv, a single bed and a large double bed. It had a large shower and sink within the main room, and a separate small room with a toilet and radiator within. The restaurant had lovely views and a good range of cooked and continental breakfasts on offer. All of the staff were kind, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed using the facilities in the bar, such as the sofa area and the pool table. The bar had seating indoors and outdoors, with a snug TV area to sit in outdoors and beautiful views of the river. There was no hotel parking, however there was a free car park right across the road. The hotel location was perfect for us, as we were going cycling a the 7Stanes which is a 5 minute drive away, and the hotel is in a quiet town with quaint shops and a delicious Chinese takeaway.

We loved staying here but we had a couple of issues- 1) the bathroom was quite dusty and we had to ask 3 times for soap as that was not provided. 2) The streetlight was very bright and wasn't blocked out by the curtains well enough to sleep comfortably. 3) Our biggest issue was with other guests being loud at night- a drunk group of men were shouting the in corridors at 3am for at least 45 minutes and this was not dealt with by the staff. In the end, my husband had to go out into the corridor and the loud guests retreated to their rooms.

Super friendly staff, modern decor, great food. Enjoyed a drink in the riverside beer garden, stayed in Sweetheart suite, nice and spacious, huge bath tub plus shower room, large TV, loads of storage, light and airy with 3 windows, nice sofa, again very modern. Comfy super king bed. All in all can’t fault it

Stayed during heatwave, windows open was too noisy from traffic, fan in room allowed us to close windows. Had a mostly restful night. Room was baking hot by morning as heating had come on which I was stunned at. Couldn’t turn radiator off as batteries had been removed from control. Minor discomfort but opened the 3 windows and waited till room cooled.

The Staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel was really clean and well kept. Food was also excellent well stocked bar overall it was good value for money

INot really suitable if you have difficulty with stairs to accommodation. When booking I stated that I had difficulty with stairs but said I could probably manage a first floor and requested this. On arrival we had a top floor room 33 steps up. I really struggled. As it was a short stay, we just decided to get on with it, but had we wished to complain, there didn't seem to be anyone in overall charge.

Room was good, bedlinen and towels fresh and clean, toilet and shower also good.

On arrival it wasn't clear where we should check in - the front entrance and side entrance both took us into the bar - it looked the wrong place but in fact a lady checked us in from there. Needed the window open because room was too warm for us and couldn't get the radiator off, not a big problem but we could hear the noise of the traffic at night and early morning. Breakfast - hot food was good but would have liked yoghurts and some fresh fruit available. All staff were excellent and very obliging including the lady servicing the bedrooms.

We only called the night before and managed to get a room, we had our dog and 14yr old son with us. They didn't have any family rooms left but they were able to give us a double with a camp bed, which was ideal for us as it was only one night. Also our dog and son were allowed in the bar that evening which allowed us to meet with friends, breakfast was lovely and the dog got a couple of sausages too .

Great room with good shower, very clean with tea/coffee, fan (no air con), Parking available across the road, lovely little beer garden facing onto the river side.

Room was very warm but temp was 27°c outside. Fan helped keep us cool.
