We felt warmly welcomed by a friendly and flexible approach to us checking in. The Corran has a lively live in manager working to keep things ticking over. Despite the Booking.com impression that the breakfast is continental only, it was an excellent full cooked affair.

Nothing apart from a bulb not working and a packet of biscuits beyond their best before date but definitely not worth moaning about!! All else great.

Very caring and friendly host Pauline- she couldn't do more for us.Convenient location for a break during our trip from North Wales to Grantown on Spey. Excellent breakfast- attention paid to our request for a vegetarian meal. Near the lochside with interesting bird- even in snowy, icy January 2023

The location was fantastic. The accommodation was really cosy. the manager and owner were amazing too, really welcoming, super friendly and extremely professional. I highly recommend The Corran, you won’t be disappointed.

gorgeous old house, great location, Pauline a great host

Host/Pauline - amazing person, friendly, professional, approachable, flexible, easy to relate with, good sense of humour, and goes out of her way to care for guests. She is very hard working - she should have assistance to prevent being 'burnt out'. We asked for a clean room, and she ensured this was fulfilled. We do not eat one of the items on the breakfast menu, and Pauline provided an alternative. A great premise/area from which to explore some breath taking landscapes, historical 'relics' and monuments, etc, and of course amazing culture and people. From the Corran, it is so convenient to get to Oban, Tarbert, Campbeltown, Inverary and Isles of Gigha and Arran, etc., for day trips via ferries.

There was nothing to dislike. However, a suggestion - if a guest(s) staying for several nights - consider varying the menu even if to change one or two items?

The room we stayed in had amazing views. It was a good size and had lots of space. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Pauline was amazing. Not only had we agreed an early check in but she was there to meet us. She sorted all the things that had gone wrong with our trip (nothing to do with the accommodation) She couldn't have done more to help us out and make our stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Excellent breakfast too. Old school highland hospitality. Thumbs up all round.

Beautiful old house in which I had a very large and comfy room with views out towards the loch. A warm welcome plus fantastic breakfasts and tips from the manager.

En suite facilities were not quite up to the same standard as the room itself. Location is a little bit distant from the centre of Lochgilphead but the town is tiny and the house is very close to the Crinan Canal which made it a great base for walking in the area.

The manager ( female) was very friendly and welcoming. Our bedroom in this former doctor’s house and surgery was large, with a great view, and so was the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, with cereal, fruit, fruit-juice and a cooked meal with toast, tea or coffee. There is plenty of parking- space and the property. Only five minutes’ walk into town along the shore of the loch.

Everything was great.

The grounds were really cute and quaint. And Pauline was amazing, she is a true Scottish gem. Hilarious, friendly and a great cook! The dining room in the main house where breakfast was served was adorable and the view overlooking the garden was quite peaceful.

We stayed in the side cottage due to an over booking, there were some bugs and spiders we had to kill so not sure how often it was rented out.
