Fairhaven, Oban Town Centre0

The Fairhaven is in an ideal location, walking distance to the town and close enough to the ferry port. Everything was set up perfect for Covid. We didn't see any staff however there was no need as check in details were provided online and everything went smoothly. There were only 3 parking spaces outside the property and used on a first arrive basis of which we managed to park. The room was clean and there was plenty of hot water and a good shower. Breakfast buffet in the conservatory with cereals, pastries, bread and jams, plus tea and coffee making facilities. There was also a dishwasher for you to put your used pots and cutlery in

The Iona Room is likely the best, being on the ground floor, and easily accessible to the hall, sitting room, kitchen & conservatory dining room. Because the house/room was so hot, we were able to feel as if we had a house to ourselves, and open the doors for fresh air... (given there are three bedrooms on the next level, we didn't mind at all, people coming and going, and it was obvious they belonged, so security wasn't at risk, while we were there) and we sat in the sitting room, nearby to our bedroom. Have no idea what the other rooms are like...Iona was pretty near perfect for our needs; as we gtravel with lots of luggage and stairs are a nuisance factor we can live without.

Apart from hand-soap there were no other bathroom amenities... not a biggie as we do travel with our own, but others might expect there'd be some. Also... there are four bedrooms and only three parking spaces (which can't be reserved), but there's a public car-park that's handy, and free overnight. Not sure if street parking is free... we did manage to get the 3rd car-park ourselves.

Location pretty close to the centre on a quiet ish road On route 78 very convenient for cyclists. Room quite small but adequate facilities Breakfast is a do it yourself affair and fine. The owners were great in accommodating our bikes inside overnight! Big thanks Bed also very big and comfy!

Could have been some nicer fruit for breakfast but that’s just me being picky. Overall the main things about the place were pretty ok

We had a lovely stay at Fairhaven! Room was a great size, super comfy bed, and immaculately clean. Breakfast had lots of options (only thing I would say though was that it's not a cooked breakfast, just a selection of items to help yourself to e.g. yoghurts, cereal etc). There was also irn brus, teacakes, and caramel logs on arrival which was a lovely touch!

Very clean and modern room. Close walking distance to sea front. Easy access to ferry and supermarket. Complimentary treats in room were a lovely touch. Self check in and out so didn’t meet any of the staff. Very comfortable beds. Self serve breakfast, just grabbed a banana and croissant. Cereals, toast, yogurts also available.

A perfect place when arriving in Oban by train (less than 10 minutes to walk). Very clean. We like the room (Colosey). A lot of nice smart solutions to make the best of the small room.

Not a familiar place (PIN at the door, no human being around, complicated description how to get in). A house the owners pull profit from but are no real hosts.

Breakfast was very limited and consisted of snacks I.e tea cakes, apple, a pastry and a can of irnbru each. Not quite the breakfast I imagined when I paid for b&b basis. The location was fine, despite being 5 mins out of the centre. It was a good walk and was still busy so I felt safe being out on my own at night in the dark.

Not a complaint, just a few wee things in the room would have been good. A coat hook on the bathroom door, some wee bottles of bathroom stuff and more space to hang clothes other than the back of the door. Ideally adding some sound proofing between rooms too as those walls were paper thin and we could hear everything going on next door and vice versa.

The location was close to the town centre. There was breakfast ready for you to make. Instructions on how to do everything were clear.

One of our towns had a brown stains on it. We don't believe it was fecal matter however it was rather off putting. This is something that could be overlooked and the whole experience apart from that was superb.

It was lovely and clean and comfortable and just a drive away from the centre.

I couldn't park my car because other clients selfishly didn't park in a way to allow 4 cars to park there. I had to park down the road so as not to park on double yellow lines. Maybe it would be helpful to have lines for cars to park in between.

Very clean and comfortable, perfect for our brief 1 night overnight trip. Easy to access, we parked outside, the welcome goodies were a nice touch.

The property was great. Our only minor gripe was that the breakfast room opened at 6am. Just a little too late for us as we were leaving early to catch a ferry.
