The hotel is on a super location at the pier in the centre of town. We did not pay extra for the view but their standard room is of good size and comfortable. It had the usual items- tv, coffee machine etc. As it was winter time, their dinner service was not available but their afternoon tea was. We had a drink at their bar/cafe and the whole place is nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was located in the corner side of the hotel so it was a bit dark and a bit noisy with traffic although it was okay as we were not light sleepers and the hotel was located in the centre.

The sole purpose of booking this hotel was for their spa and massage but they did not have a masseur available so all massage treatments were off. Only learned about this after booking and when we phoned to enquire about the services. I did wonder why there were no photos of the spa area - it was definitely just a thermal area without the massage treatments- good size sauna, steam, and foot bath machine.

I can’t fault this hotel The location is fantastic, it is literally across the road from the train station. Two doors from WestCoast tours who do tours to Mull Iona and Staffa and Tobermory etc Also a four minute or less walk to the CalMac ferry terminal. Breakfast was cooked to order, and the croissants were the best I have ever had, all staff were lovely and very helpful. The view from the rooms facing the water are beautiful, and the entire hotel has a real warmth about it with lush carpet in the hallways and beautiful fixtures, you feel like your staying in a grand house. The windows open up slightly which is a bonus , as well as a heated towel rack . Would definitely stay there again.

A small cartoon of long life milk rather than those sachets would be perfect , as usually people have travelled for at least a few hours and to be able to have a coffee with a decent amount of milk in their room straight away would be perfect….

Sea view, carpets stained and tatie

Breakfast , staff lovely people , but with two nights stay , breakfast is £17 per person per night , first morning there was no black pudding , and no link sausages , a pooR quality square sausage substitute , so I said to the waiter looking forward to my Scottish black pudding tomorrow, the next morning no black pud , no link sausage , no haggis, and horrid fatty streaky bacon instead of back bacon , very disappointed , got the feeling the chef was using up the left overs , not the end of the world , but shortly some one could of popped to the the supermarket or the butchers , and speaking of new licensing laws the pack testing on appliances is well out of date , the iron in the wardrobe cable is perishing , DANGEROUS

Perfect location. Lovely spacious rooms with nice touches like nice highland Co. toiletries plenty towels, robe, slippers. Had TV and Bluetooth speaker. Tea coffees waters all provided. Very clean. Staff on reception, bar and restaurant all very helpful and friendly and a credit to hotel. Food in the BAAB restaurant was excellent.

There was a bad drain smell a few times from bathroom also noticed in downstairs loos but assumed just one of those unavoidable issues when there had been a lot of rain. Wasn’t a huge issue. Steam room out of order. But as the mini spa was complimentary can’t complain. We hadn’t booked treatment in advance and no availability on Saturday but that was our own fault

Lovely hotel in the centre of Oban, staff were very friendly and helpful , modern room with kettle and coffee machine, complimentary bottled water, robes and slippers, they have even provided yoga mats and wireless speaker in the room, spa facilities were an added bonus to relax in the sauna , use the foot spa and heated beds after a day of exploring. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice , we also dined in the restaurant and the food was lovely, all very reasonably priced.

Our room had lovely thick black out curtains but no blinds or sheer curtain and we overlooked a road so we felt a bit exposed this could easily be resolved with blinds.

Friendly staff, whether it was at reception , service staff (cleaners / in the restaurant) and I think one of the chef’s came out to help with service at breakfast and was very professional. Email enquiries were answered quickly and efficiently, before our stay. Very clean bedroom and bathroom area, with lovely smelling soaps (we bought some to bring home). Nice view of the Sea and Ferry Port.

Seemed to have a shortness of staff at breakfast (day 1). Due to staffing, a wait of around 14mins before tea, coffee and food order was taken. Then a further wait (although shorter) to be served the food. Staff very apologetic and did their very best in the circumstances. Breakfast on day 2 was much better. Bedroom temperature (rm 205) seemed to get warmer from 9pm to around 3am for some unknown reason. Didn’t open the window as it was Easter weekend and it was a little noisy outside. Not the fault of the hotel.

The staff were very friendly our stay was tailored to us as we were honeymooning there and hopping islands using the hotel as a Homebase. The staff left us a lovely handwritten card and Prosecco gift was a great way to start our married life together. We will definitely be going back The shampoo conditioner hand wash was all locally sourced and smelt amazing. The room had a spectacular sea view over the harbour, we couldn’t stop watching the sun set and at night. The restaurant food was amazing, best mussels i have ever had. Loved our stay and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Oban !

Nothing, can’t fault it.

Location was perfect, close by affordable parking. Great distance to restaurants and shops and right at the harbour. The food in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was great. The room was very clean, well equipped and large in size. The bed was huge! The bar was great service and great choice of drinks.

Sadly the steam room wasn’t in operation while we stayed so we weren’t able to book the rasul mud treatment. The room itself was slightly cold, the bathroom was very cold even though the heated towel rail was kept on!

The (cocktail) bar is nice for a last drink before bed. Also in February there not so much happening in Oban so it is nice to have a good and friendly place to go to after dinner.

Breakfast is a bit pricey and not included in the room price. Only worth it, if one needs a big full breakfast before a long day hiking. Spa is nice but not very big. Fine for us as we pre-booked. First 15min we were alone, and then there were only 4 people using it however this is almost filling the sauna to max capacity.

Staff were nice, rooms were good. Breakfast was good, decent options. Location is great, right in the heart of Oban. Walked round locally during the day and location wise it's probably the best one.

There was a lot missing in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner but in fairness I think it was explained it was due to the new year period and supplies hadn't come in. So it wasn't a big issue. Other than that it was all fine. Staff were all nice in general and helpful and of course apologetic about the missing items.
