Goodwood Hotel

The reviews for this hotel are some of the most unfair we've ever. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were some of the nicest hotel staff we've ever met, the location was incredible. Couldn't fault it in the slightest at all. We had a wonderful, comfortable stay, we didn't have a single complaint.

I read a lot of mixed reviews before booking, some bits i agree with but i wouldnt slam this hotel for them, as the location, price and helpful sfaff, you couldnt ask for much more for the price we paid. We were in the deluxe family room. A lot of reviews complained about the size, but we had 2 teenagers with us, and we managed fine. It was a room to stay in as we were up and out all day. Shower was hot every morning and night. The older guy was very helpful, we had no remote so he found it for us, he helped with extra pillows and with fresh bin bags. He was very pleasant. The room was at the front of the building/street we felt totally safe. When we give the keys back we asked about the £10 deposit and we were given it back strait away.

I think we were next to a shared bathroom. The door slammed quite a lot through the night. It woke us up the first night but it was the shock of wondering what it was. Once we realised it was just the door slamming we got used to it and we all slept fine the rest of the week. I really have no complaint for this hotel as you get what you pay for. We will stay again.

The feeling of the hotel is extremely comfortable and the room was lovely and warm, nice carpet and comfy bed. The location is absolutely perfect. A vibrant community on the footstep of many of the City's attractions. There is a convenience store 2 doors down and a very popular diner that seemed always busy. If you're on a tight budget and want to be in the heart of the City, I would highly recommend.

The shared bathrooms are freezing...but it adds to the charm in a way. It is what it is and it didn't really bother me.

I thought Goodwood Hotel was Excellent! I was a little wary before arriving, as I had read some different reviews on the hotel. However, I was very impressed!, and I'll be staying there again, the next time I visit London in early August. I really liked the Bloomsbury location. The cleanliness & the value for money. The Late, Great Kenneth Williams lived just around the corner from the hotel, (there's a blue plaque above where he lived) Just have £10 cash available on arrival, (for the deposit for the room key) Keys have maybe been lost in the past. I would highly recommend this hotel, and I've visited London probably more than 100 times on leisure breaks, and stayed at literally dozens of different London hotels over the years.

There's was nothing. With regards the shower, simply let the water run for a couple of minutes, for the right temperature.

We booked for 4 days in total and at first I was skeptical due to the bad reviews of this hotel. We expected less when we went there. The Customer service was excellent may I say. He was very accommodating with my inquiries. I like the location it is walking distance from the train or bus. The room is clean and the bed is soft to sleep on. The value for money is good. Overall it was a good experience for us.

If your going to book on this hotel. You need to consider that this hotel doesn't have elevator a 40kilos baggage is not recommendable. Better keep your baggage light and for the internet there are times that it disconnects so better have a back up internet connection.

The Hotel was very well situated, just few minutes from Russel square station and St Pancras station (for those who want to use the metro). The university college of London was near, I walked to it every day.

I liked the location, and the helpfulness of the hotel stuff. Whenever I needed something they provided it with a smile. They made my visit to London different and enjoying.

The room was very reasonable, as the property is an unmodified terrace house, with no lift, etc. So it was not a faceless standard hotel with the usual facilities, but had character. The room was very small, with little storage facility, and the attached 'bathroom' (just a little cubicle) very tiny, but it was clean, cosy, came with kettle and TV and wi-fi, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. If you need all mod cons (lift, air-con, daily cleaning) or have a lot to put away, it is not for you. But if you want something central, reasonable, and very home-like, it is excellent.

I was lucky to get the opportunity of storing my luggage there before check-in time. Expecting a hotel without ensuite bathroom, this one was quite nice and sufficient (two bathrooms with shower plus one toilet for six rooms - as far as I could see it). The room wasn't big, but definitely big enough - especially in consideration of the great location (just a footwalk away from St. Pancras station). This was a good place for a stopover!

Well, the window in my room couldn't be opened and the heating worked all the time. Also, the window hardly protected me from the sounds coming from the street - wanting to sleep before 10 p.m. was just a bit more difficult than normal.

I have stayed twice now for one night, because of the very convenient location for Euston / St Pancras / Kings Cross Stations. The rooms are very small but that is what you get for this price in London. They were clean, fairly quiet and equipped with a kettle / tea / coffee. Friendly, no-fuss check in. I would stay again for a short stay.

Hooks for towels in the rooms would be helpful.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the property unmodernized -- small and personal. The space and the facilities obviously limited, but room clean and comfortable.

Bathroom facilities were a floor down and the sink was tiny, but this was a result of space not available, and was not greatly inconvenient.
