Hux Hotel, Kensington

The room was smaller than expected but was chosen to reflect the price I wished to pay. It was still a good price to have this location- across the road from Kensington park and Palace with easy bus access into central London. The staff were very friendly and helpful and as a solo traveller, I did feel the hotel was secure. The rooms are creatively decorated having an unusual decor which just adds to the ambience. My friend stayed in a beautiful loft room, so choice is there. There is a bar (with live music from Thursdays) but no restaurant on site, but don't let this deter you as there is plenty of choice around you.

The hotel is very aesthetic, and the rooms are nicely designed. The team was exceptional! Everyone was really lovely, helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed the cocktails at the bar and the general atmosphere. Finally, the location is fantastic with lots of restaurants, supermarkets and public transport nearby. Will stay again for sure.

The room was really tiny and there was no safe, a proper wardrobe and no minibar or fridge. They did supply a fresh large bottle of water daily which was nice. The elevator doesn't work, and its been like this for weeks with no estimate when this would be fixed. The team does help you with luggage but I think this should have been communicated in advance.

The cleanliness was excellent, staff were very accommodating and friendly, offering drinks on arrival and to hold bags before our stay and after. Room show around was helpful for equipment etc. Excellent sound proofing for outside, very impressed. Lovely décor Perfect location.

The room was very small. We were 2 friends not a couple. Not really any room for our suitcases even though we did unpack them and use the hanging space but couldn't store our suitcases without tripping over them or having to move them to open bathroom door. Getting ready to go out for our evening was difficult. I had to lean to side to sit on toilet as sink was sticking out. No hand towels in bathroom, but by time we noticed we had both started to get ready to go out so didn't want to go to reception half dressed.

The bed and the shower are incredible, best I've had in all my travels to London. The location is fantastic as far as being central (close to the tube and busstops) and I highly recommend this hotel if you're going to the Royal Albert Hall. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere and style of the hotel is definitely unique and wonderful.

The room has carpet which means it gets a bit more dusty than a room without carpet. The walls are quite thin (could hear the TV in the room next to me) so please be mindfull of your neighbours if you arrive or leave early or late. The room is small but not any worse than you get in any other hotel in London.

The decor and vibe was great. It is a boutique hotel, and on the petite side but really liked that, it felt like we were going into a speakeasy. Staff were so helpful and nice, and even though our room was micro sized (we picked a petite double) the style and decor of the room made up for it. The bed was comfy and even though we were road facing, I didn't hear much noise or traffic. Perfect for a couple's weekend away.

The shower was tiny! We did have a petite room so I wasn't expecting it to be huge but you could barely move. It also took a while for the hot water to come through. Not a massive deal as we were only staying for 2 nights. If we stay again I would definitely pay more for a larger room/bathroom.

We have elderly people and young kids and each of them had different requirements for accommodation. We are very satisfied with the hotel because of its location (quite a few embassy residence with neat and quiet ambience, close to bus stop and tube, nice restaurants around), room design (well-equipped kitchen, bright rooms, private access lift), good service. The price was not cheap, but it was London, peak season and inflation.

Ground floor under renovation, so it took a few minutes to find where to check-in.

Tiny tiny rooms, but just for sleeping. Not very do-able if you have a checked bag (as i did as i stayed for 10 days) but would be great for 1-3 nights with carry-on only. make sure you walk around and find all of the animals and surprises in the hotel. Great music and super talented musicians playing live on the weekend in the trendy lobby. Book a table for drinks or even as a hotel guest there likely will not be space for you!

Rooms too small, but still very comfy and well decked out with al the necessities. stairs from the street, so not an accessible property. This is too bad - when i return to London with my mum i wont be able to stay here.

We stayed in a 2 bed suite which was spacious, comfortable, modern, spotless and very well equipped. We had 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom and an open plan living room, dining room and kitchen. The view from our living room was onto Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace was just a short stroll, where we did a tour. The hotel is in a great location at the Kensington Palace end of High street Kensington, it is very near the tube station, shops and a whole host of fabulous restaurants. We ate in the Spaghetti House Italian restaurant 2 doors down from the hotel and it was fabulous. The bus stop for the hop on hop off Red bus is right outside the door. All the staff were great, friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had a super stay here and would highly recommend it. We would love to come back some time in the future.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Hotel is located in a great location - Kensington. Only 5 minutes’ walk to the nearest tube station (High Street Kensington) and lots of shops and restaurants (M&S, H&M, Zara, Wagamama, Food court, Spaghetti House). It’s only a couple of bus stops away from Harrods. Hotel itself is super cute and eclectic, the staff are all very helpful and friendly. We had an attic room which was really spacious especially for Central London, and it was spotless. Cleaning was done every day and that was fantastic also. We left our luggage at the hotel before check in as we were very early, and it was great as the staff took our bags up to our room before we checked in.

Our initial impression wasn't favourable, but Salva, the manager, went out of his way to ensure we were able to move rooms. We were accommodated in one of the suites (as opposed to the room in the main hotel). Salva was professional, gracious and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He is a real asset to this establishment.

The rooms in the main hotel are very small and cluttered (versus the suites - in the building next to the main hotel - which are wonderful - modern, large, clean, light)
