Sonder The Henry

Very clean, nice decor and as a solo traveller, I felt safe and secure. The WiFi was fast and I loved that you have your own coffee machine. Some people have mentioned that the rooms are small for what you pay, but this is very central London, in a lovely area, so I think they’re great value.

I was given the wrong room for my first night and it did seem considerably smaller. It also had a very bright green light above the door - an exit light - that kept me up for much of the night. In the second room the light was shielded so wasn’t a problem.

Spacious and welcoming accommodation located near Kensington Park. Situated in a quiet attractive neighbourhood. Clean and comfortable sheets and bedding were provided in addition to an excellent mattress, leading to a very good night’s sleep. The front desk staff were warm and helpful upon arrival and at my departure. Room was larger than I expected and the bathroom was the nicest I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. Superb water pressure and lots of space to move about. The Henry is classy and comfortable overall. Highly recommended for either a short stay or a longer accommodation.

As far as minor quibbles go, the property could do with some minor soundproofing as I was able to hear other guests or staff late at night and early in the morning, but this is a minor complaint.

Great location, very close to a Central Line station, very modern and clean, also very good spaces. Loved the toilettries they provide!

In our room, there was a green light in the ceiling after the door, that would always be on, and very annoying during night, it did give us some trouble when sleeping

a) couldn't find toilet paper after 2 days , fifth floor doesnt come with the supplie cabinet so you go to the fourth floor which was empty :(((( b) no kitchen at all which is fine but need some stuff when you order food from outside - short of utensils, no oil or vinegar, no salt :((((

The room was large and comfortable and the staff were friendly.

There was a full day without wifi, and hot water went out that evening as well. Customer service was all via chat in the mobile app and there was miscommunication between the customer service rep handling my issues and the local staff responding in person. (We had no hot water, and the local staff showed up at our door to fix a room heater issue.) Also, while I appreciate Sonder is going for a fully contact-less stay, it was almost too disconnected. I had to enter a code to get into the lobby and into my hallway and into my room (the latter two, of course, make sense). I prefer to speak with a friendly person at a reception desk vs. a fully human-contact-free experience.

A nice location, very good standard of cleanliness and finish in the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Great to have use of the luggage lockers.

Each evening seemed to have males loitering in the foyer drinking. They were known to staff but not employees. Didn't feel too safe.

didn’t enjoy the fact that were was an extra charge to clean the room, I didn’t realize that there was no room service so was a bit disappointed and wasn’t willing to pay £25

Great location and very comfortable room. Ten minutes walk to mainline train, tube stations and a couple of minutes to the bus. The cafe in the foyer serves excellent coffee and pastries. The room, while not very big had absolutely everything I needed and was well designed.

A little noisy (passing trains) if I left the window open.

The location was excellent (short walk to Bayswater tube stop, Paddington Station and the bus stop)for getting around the city. We arrived at 9 am, were able to easily find the property, and secure our bags in their lockers until check-in. The property is secure there is a code to get into the building, a code to get past the lobby area and then a code to get into your room. It is also lively, but quiet. Our room was right next to the door coming from the lobby and we didn’t hear the door or anyone talking in the hall. The rooms / bathroom are a nice size for two people.and they are very clean! Bedding is soft and the bed was comfortable! The best part they had air conditioning.

Going into it we were a little sceptical due to there being no reviews of the hotel, however from the pictures it all looked lovely. Once we got there it was all perfect. Lovely, clean and bright which was very welcoming. Would definitely stay again!
