Esme is a fantastic host. She made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The location could not be better to explore beautiful Winchester. It is central to the town and places of interest with free parking available which is always a bonus. Esme provided great facilities with a coffee maker, selection of reas, hot chocolate, biacuits, chocolates, fridge, fresh milk etc. Not forgetting the port provided which was a welcome night cap. The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely quality bed linen. The large shower was powerful with plenty of hot water to warm ouraelves after a particularly cold spell in December. Thank you again for the warm welcome and we cannot wait to return next year. Wishing Esme a merry christmas and happy new year.

Esme was a charming and friendly host, with plenty of suggestions for local amenities and her own recommendations. It was in a superb location, just 5-10 mins walk from the centre of Winchester and the attractions. The room was lovely, and very well appointed - as well as the comfy bed there was a toaster, coffee machine, kettle and supplies for making hot drinks plus a fridge with milk for tea/coffee and cereal and room to store supplies if you want to make yourself breakfast/lunch etc. Plates, cups, glasses and cutlery all provided in a beautiful picnic basket. Treats too - chocolate in the fridge, and also shortbread and a decanter with some port...such a lovely touch 😊 The shower was fab, and again eveything was provided just in case you forget your shower gel or shampoo! I would definitely recommend Esme's and we will be back for future visits!!

Nothing negative to report

So friendly and accommodating. We loved our stay there and would go back over and over if we lived in England. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom and shower were great, clean and everything thought of. The whole room is so well thought out, beautifully decorated and designed for the comfort of the guest. We just loved it. We were directed to the most wonderful pubs and local sites by the owner. Making our visit top notch.

The host, Esme, was so welcoming and met us on arrival. She showed us around and was extremely helpful especially in recommendations for food in the area. The room was very nicely decorated and Esme’s touches were exceptional. Her home is located in the heart of Winchester, a very easy walking distance to everything especially the Christmas Market which was on when we visited. The market was a lovely experience. Both the Chesil Rectory and Cote Brasserie were lovely places to eat and the food was very good. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

A perfect stay for a few days in Winchester, lovely room with extra treats , a great shower and a really comfortable bed. Esme made us so welcome, made sure we parked ok with the provided permit and fast tracked us on the highlights and best places to eat in town . The location is 5 minutes from the centre on a quiet street . Excellent!

Arriving at the location in a car , we were ok as we had a small car and a parking permit was provided by Esme which was so useful. Some of the roads in Winchester are narrow so leave the big car at home although there are car parks off the ring road.

I absolutely loved everything about my stay in Esme’s super comfortable , stylish + elegant guest room. She was super accommodating when I had a problem with my arrival and so warm + welcoming when I did finally arrive. The guest room is beautifully furnished with many thoughtful touches , a picnic hamper for impromptu picnics , a little fridge ( milk + chocolate kindly provided 😊) , blue tooth speaker. The street is also very quiet at night but only 5 minutes walk from the centre of town and lovely restaurants. Esme was always on hand to help with any requests , restaurant recommendations etc but the room felt extremely private.

A tastefully decorated room with everything you could possibly need. Welcoming, comfortable, clean and easy. Exceptionally friendly and attentive owner, who stayed in touch during my stay and was very helpful. A few minutes' walk from the city centre, yet still quiet and unaffected by noise.

A bit of an issue with the plumbing, but that was beyond the control of the owner and no reflection on her. Otherwise no problems.

Hey if you a couple on a Winchester city break, Esme's the place to stop, Esme is the greatest host, so helpful, felt at home as soon as she opened the door to greet us, this is how I rate it, would we go back to stop again...YES WE WOULD...BRILL, and we have not been paid for this revue...honest

Parking is a little troublesome but Esme helped out with the permit and it is a city with a one way system...so hey oh, life is to short to worry about a trivial matter, hey this is not a...what didn't you like thing, you know what I mean.

Great location, easy walk into town to see sights. Esme is very friendly and cares about her guests stay. Everything needed in the room, milk and biscuits as well as some port were waiting for us.

It is a small street, quite congested with very limited parking. We were provided a map and parking permit for adjacent streets. I left the car on Park Street for two days, upon return it was absolutely covered in bird poop, so be warned. We had several cases for our next destinations, the room is a bit small for the extra bags, although Esme did offer for us to leave them in the hallway.

Very warm and comfortable with a lovely personal welcome from a very warm and friendly owner. Everything was supplied from warm towels, tea and coffee, biscuits, sweets, fresh milk, chocolate bars, books, bathroom consumables, plus a carafe of port, absolutely amazing. Plus the property was bang on regarding being close to all amenities and the centre of everything in Winchester, even parking is easy with a supplied parking permit, Amazing !!
