Great location, very nice staff. Good restaurant and bar. The rooms are great, and are set out like stables, they are on the ground floor. The rooms make a courtyard, and its a great private place to sit outside your room, a real bonus. Lots of outside seating, very nice on a good day. The rooms are a good size and are very clean. If you like the style you will have a very good stay, I would recommend a stay here.

The rooms are on the ground floor so people can see into the room, curtains need to be closed, Not what you want on a very hot day. Wifi was a little slow.

Great location about 40 minutes from Portsmouth/ ferry terminal. Very comfortable room with many extras like a fan/ coffee machine / kettle & the usual hairdryer/ complimentary shower gels etc. Dogs accepted but charged at £15 a night. Food is of good quality and choice & swiftly served by happy smiling staff. Breakfast selection is from continental to full English.

A little surprised when checking out a further 10% was added to the bill, when we queried this we were told it was a service charge tax. Did not see any mention of this when booking ( through Booking, com) or on the menus when ordering.

We loved the horse theme of the hotel with the stables, jumps etc. The room was really comfortable with good quality toiletries, crystal glasses and a water jug, a coffee machine and a dyson air fan. The meal in the pub was excellent.

Just a shame that we were unable to have breakfast as a member of staff's car had broken down and nobody else had a key to open up the dining room. We had to leave early as we were on route to the ferry at Poole so we had to leave without breakfast. These things happen but I think it would be a good idea to improve the system so that more than one person has keys and can open up.

Lovely big room, we had extra large bed that was very comfortable. Very clean room with all added extras. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Good location, in countryside but very close to Winchester. There was a good selection of food at night (obviously not included in room price). Breakfast had really good selection of cooked dishes as well as usual fruit, cereal, croissants etc.

The lighting was a bit on the dark side and it would have been good to have a light for the tea/coffee making facilities. Really no cause for complaints otherwise.

Good atmosphere and friendly staff, very obliging. Clean and tidy room but too hot in the warm weather. Food was good but we thought 15 pounds each for breakfast expensive and the booking site did not appear to offer a continental breakfast though this was apparently available to people who hadn’t booked that meal in advance. Overall impression was quiet and good.

Room was a bit too warm despite the fan provided. Bacon was a bit tough! No iron in the room. Food for dinner was expensive so we went into Winchester to eat and explore.

I liked how the accommodation and pub had a theme throughout. It was quirky and peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was situated in the countryside but close enough to the city of Winchester.

The cleanliness in the bathroom. Dirty ring around plug hole in the sink, hair in the shower, dust and marks on skirting and wall behind the door, no usable toilet roll holder. I feel breakfast should be included in the price. Although I have stated the above it would not stop me from returning to this hotel.

Room was really very good. Large, plenty of desk space; and everything one needs, really, including a pod coffee machine. Bed very comfortable, heating easy to adjust to desired temperature. Large car park, excellent pub with good local beer and good food at a not earth-shattering price - busy on an early in the evening week, which is a good sign of consistency. Excellent breakfast choice, with good coffee.

The WiFi wasn't brilliant, not really good enough to hold an online video conference, even web browsing a little slow. This was explained as due to being in the country, but funnily enough each room has a TV with full streaming services installed, which certainly wouldn't work on the low bandwidth I experienced - so the impression is, the WiFi is being deliberately throttled or controlled to preserve bandwidth for the TVs. If you want to watch Netflix on your own account, you can move this comment from the negative to the positive box.

I liked the newly renovated room, it was smart and clean and had great facilities. I thought it would look more budget like a Travelodge because of what good value it was, but it was better. I will look forward to booking again next time I’m working late in the area.

The only criticism I have was privacy as the room was so in view from the pub garden. There were no blinds I could tilt or lace curtains. The only way for more privacy would have been to draw the blackout curtain which then obviously shuts all the daylight out which wasn’t desirable during the day. The pillows were a little too dense and high for my liking.

Location to Winchester city centre & surrounding attractions. Hotel accommodation themed throughout & very unique/quirky. Staff very attentive & room clean & well stocked with branded luxuries to make stay even more enjoyable 😉 ..outside seating area adjacent to room fab for night time drinks.

Never knew when bar closed at night, varied ie arrived back at 11pm to find bar in darkness & locked even though advertised till midnight! This only complaint at a otherwise fabulous overall hotel.

Meals very good. We didn't have breakfast as not big eaters in the morning so wouldn't have been economical . The room was very modern and well thought out. Good strong shower. The bed was very big and very comfortable. Lovely outlook onto the outside seating area. Staff all great. There is also a lovely walk from the cark park into the woods which leads round to fields and a park. Great parking. The pub interior as good as the outside.

Being very picky here, shower needs a bit of a descaling and chair in room stained.
