The hotel is almost 100 years old and has some original features (and lots of renovations), including timber paneling and a temperamental old lift (elevator) with concertina wrought iron inner door and controlled by the room key. The room is airy, supplied with a slightly larger fridge than standard and spacious en suite. A security door on the first floor is good sound proofing from the entertainment areas as well as only permitting overnight guests past the wining and dining part of the business. Off street parking is available in a gated carpark. Staff were friendly and obliging. The key deposit ($100) was refunded almost instantly on return of the key.

The room was quite small with a small double bed and one chair plus the fridge and a hanging frame for clothes and only enough spare space for walking around the bed. On the side of the corridor we were on (on the fourth floor, room 305) our window opened over the entertainment area roof with a large industrial air conditioning unit on it which made quite a bit of noise, 24/7 although the heavy curtains in the bedroom muffled the sound considerably.

Great for back packers. Small room for single, shared bathrooms at end of corridor, nice and clean, loads of hot water. Having a heavy pack made climbing 3 flights of stairs at first a bit of a challenge but that's cos I am old! Location great - very close to all town services, and local scenic places, and magically close to train station which is why I chose it. Food and beer in the pub below are super ; Clean, attractive premises and friendly staff.

Room was perfect for an overnight stay. Quiet, clean and comfortable.

Parking. I pulled up in carport behind the hotel and it was full. It was late and I had a child with me. I called the hotel whilst in the car park and was advised by a young lady that I'd have to find somewhere else to park. Either at the train station or somewhere else. When I walked in with luggage and my child, I was met by a different staff member who showed me where to check in and asked me if I parked out back. I explained what happened and she said I could have left my car near gates and parked later when one became available. I explained I parked a block away and we were tired. We had to walk to the car in the rain the next morning. Not ideal.

I liked the helpful night staff at the bar He went out of his way to help any way he could . They allowed me to put the 2 twin beds together to make a king the room became bigger when I moved the beds to the other side it Was really nice it was the last room they had .

The noise till 2 am but it was a Friday night they had no more rooms on 3rd floor I should bring ear plugs If I attempt to stay on a Friday night again check out Was 10 am I Was late checking out but the maid house keeper was so abrupt n rude literally no patients at all nagged me out of the room then lied that people were coming into the room at 10 am online check in Is 2 pm so she's lied . I just got ready in the bathroom all I could do . They party all night don't let me sleep then throw me out 10 am I thought even the room had a balcony made no sense there Was a chair but no table I'dve had breakfast on the balcony other wise if there Was a table n I'd been able to sleep the night before got up early. But things happen ...

Everything from the check in, where I complained that I hadn't slept in a single bed since I was 18! The beautiful staff moved us to a double bed suite. Pizza from Joe's Pizza NB (Closed Mondays) best pizza I've had in years. Earl's restaurant/bistro Classy.Instead of a schooner get a pint of XXXX for $1.00 more.They even have a "Seniors" Menu (Old Duffers like me.) Staff in Hotel, & Earl's, great! Where do you get them??

Nuthin' our stay was excellent (as always)

I really like the balcony and the convenience of the hotel restaurant at the ground floor of the hotel, also the kitchenette inside ( water basin, toaster, and tea and coffee provided..Yes the standard but great if you are with kids) the proximity to shops and the main center, (playground and marina) and even the train station

The room,s door (loose inside knob) required some fixing (as parts of the hotel are old) but convenient and with working and clean facilities). a bit of noise at the weekends (obviously due to pub located in the ground) however we were told about it. and the balcony door isolates most of the noise. and opening hours were standard til midnight. However, maybe an inconvenient for people with light sleep. (to say, Not a problem unless a long stay.)

The room does not have a microwave or detergent. Staff managed to heat up our food in their commercial air frier and poured detergent from the kitchen for us. The whole place is clean (even the shared bathroom) and smells good. The room seems newly painted. Good wifi. Normal street noise. The old fashion lift did not go because we could not shut the lift door properly, so walked upstairs. We did not mind. It's an old but well-maintained building. It was almost nice walking up.

The unexpected (not that they are bad) Didn't find a hair drier anywhere. Compulsory $100 key deposit. Refunded at checkout. Shares the parking with pub customers. Free street parking after hours until around 8 a.m. We moved the car to the hotel parking after 8 p.m.

Friendly, clean hotel with good vibes, comfy beds, beautiful historic decor including period lift, old pictures and high ceilings. Great location close to transport and downtown Gosford. Earls the connected restaurant is great and includes veggie options, close to Joe's pizza which is open later (to 1030) and very delicious

Noisy af at night and in the morning, wifi wasn't working, would love it if the restaurant was open longer. Bring ear plugs and you'll be Ok.

Comfortable and clean room. Had everything I needed. It was noisy however that is expected across the road from the train station and it has a nightclub downstairs on Friday and Saturday nights. If you don't like noise don't stay. Most of the noise is sound proofed as much as it can be but nothing ear plugs can't fix.

That I had to leave before the restaurant was open on Sunday as I wanted a final meal before leaving but had to go as I had things to.

Staff were terrific. We even popped in the day before to check booking. Room was wonderful value. Shared bathroom not our normal but all that was available and clean. Check in staff friendly and patient also managing the early crowd wanting a drink. Car park was full which little frustrating given we arrived before lunch crowd. pub was a big hit for our friends who travelled from sydney - bar staff were sensational, food awesome and drink prices reasonable.

Car parking very limited and despite getting there before 11.30am fully occupied. lucky we jagged a spot on the street close by. otherwise all good
