Room included parking and breakfast which is great in a fairly expensive city like Cork. Breakfast was delicious and had many options. Staff were so helpful and friendly. It was on the fringe of the big smoke which meant it was nice and quiet at night. We have stayed more central in the past and it gets quite rowdy. Easy downhill 10 minute walk to the Main Street. Uphill home, well just think of the calories you’re burning off from all that lovely Cork Cuisine. We will stay again.

We stayed 4 nights so a little fridge would have been handy. Just to keep some purchases in from The English Markets. It appears fridges in rooms isn’t a thing any more.

Breakfast was excellent, although a little busy at peak times - but that happens at most hotels. The staff on reception were very welcoming - it was like visiting family. There is a pleasant garden outside to stroll around or sit in, complete with chickens and a view over the river.

The car park is a little bit too small for the size of the hotel, although we always managed to squeeze in somewhere as the staff are prepared to help you get parked. There were a lot of stairs up to our room. There was a fair bit of external noise from the statin at the bottom of the hill (Trains tooting as they left).

Extremely friendly staff. Bright and cheerful place. Breakfast was brilliant with fantastic outlook over Cork and there personalized gardens. First time we have ever used laundry facilities in a hotel as it was so reasonably priced. Beautiful gardens with vegetable patches and chickens and happy birds chirping overlooking Cork (as hotel position is up hill). Great place for chilling out with glass of wine enjoying the view.

Bed was too hard. Some people would struggle with the stairs. No table, only tiny shelf for tea & coffee facilities. Ending up using the top of the bar fridge for a shelf to charge things and make hot drinks.

From the welcome to us departing the whole experience was exceptional ! .Myself and lisa felt very welcome and every member of the hotel team made us feel very relaxed, what ambassadors to gabriel house they all are ! Valerie and Kathleen were very helpful with there knowledge of places to visit, dine and how to get there. They wanted us to enjoy our stay ,as much as us wanting too! The food was exceptional and the chefs were keen we tried and enjoyed everything ,which we did at cost of an expanding waistline It was lovely to meet Barry and his dogs along with the ducks chicken and canaries. I writing this after being home for an hour and we already planning our return 🙂

Outside, there is on the left another small garden with chicken and ducks, and canaries singing. If the weather had been good we could have had a great beer in front of the harbour. The hotel is very clean and everybody really nice. Our son loved playing with the 3 lovely dogs of the owner outside in the garden. The Irish breakfast is worth the price (14€), and the breakfast room may be sunny in mornings, with a nice view.

I like doing yoga in mornings and the room was smaller than I thought. We could only go around beds in our family room. When the parking (x 12 if I remember well) is full we have to find another parking for the car.

The Interior decor was beautiful! This is a special place. As an American, it reminded me of one of the old southern plantations of the south. The room and attached bathroom we stayed in (#13) was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and had windows all along the back wall making it very light and airy. The hostess was great - very friendly (able to call everyone by their first name), professional and knowledgeable. Breakfast had lots of options and food was very good.

Parking space was very limited and cramped. The guesthouse is located at the top of a hill which makes the view great but to get into the parking lot you have to make a sharp narrow curve at the top of the hill going down into the parking lot.

Kathleen, the Manager is a great lady. She is a jack(Jill) of all trades, she was at reception, helping at breakfast, up with the cleaners, is there anything this lady doesn't do?? She is always in great humour, very funny but above all very helpful. Good location to the city. It's about a 10 minute walk to city centre...downhill...more uphill going back !!! Bedroom was big enough and clean. Breakfast was great, ample amount of food and choice. I was glad to see a milk alternative as I am dairy sensitive. Service was prompt.

The slope on the driveway going in(and out). It's pretty steep. I wouldn't say anyone would chance it in the winter frosts and snow. The lady at the house beside had a barbecue and the ash/dirt all landed on our car !!! There's no lift to the bedrooms, this didn't bother us but it may affect people with bad mobility/arthritis, etc. At breakfast, the toast came with butter on it....not suitable for person with dairy sensitivity.

It’s a beautiful old building renovated to a very high standard . It’s only 15 mins walk from the quays in Cork city Centre. We stayed in a triple room with a double bed and two singles . It didn’t feel at all tight though . The staff were incredibly nice and friendly especially Valerie on reception who was so chatty and helpful . It was €189 for our room in June ‘23 . This included a delicious freshly made breakfast (pancakes, poached /scrambled eggs/ full Irish etc) There was also a buffet of yogurt, breads, cakes etc . There are about 15 parking spaces although we came by public transport so didn’t need parking .

Nothing , but there are quite a few steps into the property which might be difficult for some .

We loved it. The property has parking for guest. It was also clean, quaint and inviting as soon as you walk in. The guest house is old but very well kept up and we appreciated the old with the new. Our room was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable. Had everything we needed.

Not being negative at all about this but we packed 50 pound suitcases to bring with us and the property is set back some on a steep decline. It was challenging getting heavy suitcases down there and the building has no lift so it was challenging getting our luggage up to our third floor room. Just saying this to advise to pack light. We had no problem at all with climbing stairs but some may.

We had a wonderful time at Gabriel House, we would definitely book here again if we return to Cork. It is an easy walk down the hill into the centre of Cork, which has loads to do. The parking is free and we found a spot every day. The breakfast is absolutely worth having, there is a menu of delicious freshly cooked options along with the buffet options. The rooms were immaculately clean and comfortable. And all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for having us!

Our room (number 8) was next to the dining room so we heard the other guests coming for breakfast from ~7:15am, wasn't a huge problem for us as we get up reasonably early but would wake you up if still asleep.
