had such a good time! the room was huge and bright, the pods were so comfortable and warm even though it was freezing outside. loved the bar/common area. met a bunch of people, and had such a great experience all along!
the shower was kind of “unstable”. on the first day the water was cold. the water also stops running quite quickly, and you have to keep pressing the button, which isn’t really practical

very nice people at the counter, clean rooms with lockers it was quite silent, everything fine
I think it is a bit useless that they note your ID number from your id card / passport. that’s really sensitive data and imo it would be enough to compare if the name between the id and booking matches. I hope that data is deleted after check out to prevent any problems if a data leak happens! it would be cool if you had lockers with sockets in your rooms. I was running around the city all day and struggled to charge all my devices because I couldn’t charge at night because I had no way to lock my devices while charging.

Sweet sugar snaps, I never thought a hostel could be this nice. The bathrooms were spacious, sleek and clean. The pods feel very modern and allow a lot of room for privacy. But most of all, I adored the breakfast buffet menu options. I will endeavour to come here whenever I'm in Dublin again. I don't know who Jacob is, but he should be proud.
The pods were lovely in their privacy, lighting and fixtures to place belongings. Honestly, I adored them. But unfortunately the pillows were more than a little thin, but most of all it was really warm in the pods and I was hoping it would be much cooler for ideal sleep. Not very ventilated after all with its design. But nothing's perfect.

The location is alright, its a 20 minute walk from the Temple Bar area. The beds are indeed pods as expected which is nice. The rooms are spacious and have big lockers where you can leave your stuff. The hostel is next to a police station so there are always cops around.
Things to keep in mind: the pods DO NOT have an outlet available. The only ones are on the wall above the lockers, meaning that you can't charge your phone in bed. It does have a low power USB-A outlet but its hardly enough. There is also no common kitchen or fridge, which is something to keep in mind. The mattress is not overly comfortable either, fairly thing. Although close enough to the Temple Bar area, its still not a very centric area. Most things require buses or quite some walking to get to. After dark the area doesn't have a lot of movement and being next to a train station there are a few homeless roaming around. There isn't much food and the bar in the lobby closes fairly early, forcing the people there into the small shared area by reception.

I loveedddd the privacy of the cubicles and the all female dorm. Bathroom was spotless and felt like a hotel. Across the road from connelly train station which was perfect for me. Rooms were quiet. Great value for money.
You have to pay to leave your luggage with them. I reaaaally hated how loud the music was in the restaurant was so uncomfortable and the food was really just thrown in a deep fat fryer. Hostel was great but don't bother eating in the restaurant attached.

The Hostel: I stayed in the 10-bed mixed dorm. It was spacious and functional. Each bunk is equipped with a privacy curtain, charging station (USB connections only) and an electronic locker for your valuables — locks use a numerical code to open/lock. There is space in the room for oversized luggage as well. WiFi network, shower and water pressure all worked great. Common areas are comfortable with plenty of seating. The Stay: The bed was comfortable and the hostel is well designed. Jacob’s Inn is situated on a sketchy street, but the building is secure. At no point did I feel unsafe. Conveniently located and a short distance to most attractions. The Service: The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They were always available to answer questions and offer tour recommendations. Towels are provided for a small fee.
There’s one private bathroom in the dorm, but I used the additional showers/toilets on the second floor. Overall cleanliness could use some improvement and some extra hooks or shelving in the showers would be great.

The hostel seems to be quite big but all works well. The 4 female pod dorm was nice, bathroom was clean and nice size. The little terrasse on the 4th floor is also good to go when you want to have a quick bite for dinner. The downstairs bar seemed to be nice as well although I only used it for breakfast. Breakfast buffet is 12€ with warm and cold foods good to have when you prepare a long day on a tour. Else another smaller option of coffee and a muffin is available (don’t remember how much though) Staff was helpful as well when I enquired about a few things I wanted to do or needed. The city center is at least a 15min walk which I was alright but to bear in mind. Conveniently the tram station is just downstairs and that was very helpful to take me to Heuston station to get the train to my next destination.
I’m not sure it’s logistically possible for such a huge property but having a fridge to keep fresh food would be a plus. The area was a bit rough. Personally didn’t run into any troubles but then I also didn’t go out until late cause I was always very exhausted from the day tours.

Although the location is in what some would term a 'dodgy part of town' it is just a short work to the main sights. The pods were great, apart from the lack of a plug socket as the USBs took hours to charge, and everything was safe and secure in the lockers and relatively quiet/respectful in dorm. Shower facilities, etc were great and always well stocked. Free safe lockers before heading home.
Downstairs could be a little noisy, not rowdy until later, but this is a hostel aimed at those going to Dublin to enjoy the nightlife, not work covering local football like me. My last night was impacted by 6 lads who had no respect for others in a dorm at 2am, but something you can't control that.

The description of the place is quite good and gives the correct image of the place. The breakfast is very good (it can be included or not). The cell to sleep is quite comfortable with a shelf and two different light scenarios :-) The linen is clean and fresh. I liked the privacy that this type of cells can provide as well as protect from cold air from the window.
While sleeping people next cells unconsciously hit the walls of their cells with their arms or legs and that made terrible sounds that reminded me of explosions I can hear at home during russian missile attacks.

Much more comfortable than I expected - the "cubicle" allows good isolation from other guests. Light inside it is perfect. Good location - can walk to main attractions.
The earplugs availability was not communicated on reception. Before arrival I received an email offering to buy them, so I decided they don't offer any, and only on my last day I saw a poster in the bathroom reading I can get them on reception, as well as some other things - so pay attention to posters The in-suite bathroom could use bigger trash bin, the tiny one it had is definitely not enough for 10 persons room
