A cost efficient way of staying at a Japanese style tatami accommodation. There were a lot of small touches such as complimentary japanese snacks and candy on arrival, free coffee, a manga club onsite (new), private bath that we opted in and booked before arrival (3000yen), cosy room with futon beds and lovely view of Lake Kawaguchi. Yukatas and slippers were provided. There was a free shuttle van that picked us up from Kawaguchiko station (from 3pm to 5pm - you go to the tourist centre from the station and tell them to call hotel directly). It was a 5 to 6 min drive. Convenient if you have lots of bags. Then in morning, 8am to 10am, you can go to station via the van (reservations are required due to limited seats). The hotel is a bit dated but its the style of it. Private bath on L3 (reservations required) was hot and relaxing! We also used the table tennis area and killed time there along with borrowing manga from the manga club. Souvenir shop near reception and with a vending machine plus free amenities. Coin laundry next to public bath on L1. There was a kids zone area too and karaoke (reservations required). Breakfast and dinner with a variety of western and japanese options and free unlimited local sake, beer and soft drinks etc and dessert. There are last entries for both meals so keep note. Stayed for 2 nights and same buffet food but they gave us special service like steak and salmon salad as a bonus.

Although dinner has changed to buffet style from kaiseki, it was still relatively fine for us but did want a kaiseki style. Understand that it is a more efficient business model for the hotel.

This ryokan is a budget friendly hotel if you’re looking for an onsen experience without breaking the bank. The food (both breakfast and keiseki dinner) were pretty good and satisfying, but you must prebook at least a day in advance. Breakfast and dinner are served in the communal dining hall here instead of your room. The highlight of my stay here was enjoying the onsens at the hotel, one overlooks the lake/mountain (2nd fl) and another is outdoors with a small garden view (1st fl). The bath areas were really clean and well kept. The onsens were empty when I was there in April (Thurs-Fri), so I was able to enjoy it all to myself! The hotel is about a 15-min walk from Kawaguichiko Station but there is a free hotel shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko Station. The shuttle must be prebooked at the reception desk and limited to the pre-specified time slots. The staff was super nice and friendly. We were provided all the necessary information at check-in. My family and I stayed in a traditional room with tatami beds. The room was equipped with basic amenities as well as a water warmer for tea and a small fridge. Given the price, don’t expect the bells and whistles of a luxury ryokan. If you are okay with no frills and simply want the basic ryokan onsen experience, this place is a decent place to start.

We stayed in a traditional Japanese room and had an awesome time! The hotel includes two onsen which are awesome to relax at. Room includes a table with a tea set so we had afternoon tea with local strawberries every day. Everything was clean and the staff was helpful. Located right next to the bus station

Beds were tratidional Japanese beds on the ground which wasn't that comfortable for relaxing in them. Wasn't a problem for sleeping though, we had good sleep! :)

If you would like to get away from the touristic crowds, yet very close and walking distance to everything, this hotel is perfect! Directly at the lake and only a few minutes walk to a perfect place to experience the sunrise over Mount Fuji with a chance to get the rare double Mount Fuji picture (reflection in the lake). The hotel is not the newest place in town, but it’s a lovely authentic Japanese place, where you can experience the Onsen and traditional clothing. Free snacks are provided during the afternoon. Probably the best part of the hotel was the staff. Incredibly helpful and kind people help you making your stay perfect. And if you’re lucky, you’ll meet Tommy! Tommy is the Best :). He gave us the warmest welcome we could wish for and the best recommendations in the area. The sincere joy we got from him, even when getting up at 4:45 to catch that sunrise, instantly made our day! Tommy, if you read this review, you truly are the best. For everyone else, I can warmly recommend this hotel.

Everything was perfect. Maybe the 8:30 latest breakfast time is on the early side for some, but it does help to make most of your day which is the reason you’re there anyway :)

For a "ryokan" with onsen and a view over the Kawaguchiko lake, this place definitely is a more affordable choice. The room was spacious. The onsen was very soothing, and there are free snacks and drinks at the lobby (during specific hours)! The breakfast was also very delicious. It's such a pity that we only stayed for 1 night.

The hotel seems to be a bit old, but it didn't affect our stay. There are not lot of places for food around the hotel, so it might take a 15-20 walk to get to the part with more "action." The hotel is also not very close to Kawaguchiko station, but they provide free shuttle bus!

We all really enjoyed staying here! The room was big and comforatble with a great view (especially of the firework shows that sometimes happen over the lake). We didn't book dinner and really appreciated the option to order bentos. The staff were very friendly with providing the shuttle bus and explaining the facilities. Both onsen areas were lovely and not too crowded - the upper floor outdoor bath had a cool platform in the bath that you could lie on if you got too hot. It was a great stay!

It's a bit far from any shops or conbini so if you'd like to buy your own food or drinks instead of using room service, make sure to come prepared. The onsen changing rooms also were a bit sparse on amenities.

Very authentic Japanese hotel. Carpeted floors everywhere, nice classical looking lobby. I stayed in a traditional style room with lots of wood, tatami mats and slept on a futon. Great views of Lake Kawaguchi through the window. And, importantly, there is a refrigerator in the room. Very basic, but old-school vibes in this hotel. And unexpectedly an amazing shower as well! The experience was very unique and a fantastic change from the standard hotel rooms that are common all over the world. The staff was very friendly, but they speak very little English. It's part of what makes this hotel interesting, it's catered towards Japanese people and not specifically towards foreigners. But that did make communicating with staff difficult sometimes. However this is entirely my own shortcoming for not speaking the Japanese language well enough (yet! :)). The hotel has a service where they come pick you up from Kawaguchiko station with a van, which saves you a 20 minute walk with all your luggage. Nice!

The hotel was very comfortable. The facilities are a little dated, but I'm not worried about those types of things. The view from our room was spectacular and had a beautiful view of the lake. You can't see Fuji from the hotel, but the lake makes it worth it. If you get the Kawaguchiko two day pass, the ropeway and ferry are very close to the hotel. It is a little out of the way from Kawaguchiko Station, but if you call the hotel, they will send someone to pick you up at the station. Most of the staff spoke English, which was helpful. We didn't order the dinner, but as most people on here said, a lot of the restaurants close early, so we opted for the dinner bento, which was delicious! The breakfast the following morning was also equally delicious as well and a good range of Japanese food. The outdoor onsen was so lovely at night after a long day of walking and sightseeing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Kawaguchiko.

Everything exceeded our expectations. We had a great time at this hotel and we would recommend to families and couples looking for somewhere central to stay near the lake.

The view from our room was beautiful and this hotel was the best part of our trip. Incredibly relaxing and a wonderful way to experience traditional Japanese rooms. The futons and kotatsu were comfortable, the yukatas they provided were good, the vending machines had a good variety, and the breakfast was delicious! The private bath was also very clean and relaxing, and definitely worth booking if you are nervous about using public baths or just want some space for yourself. The outdoor onsen was amazing as well. There are mostly hotels around it, but the shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko station is easy to use, and if anything it is only an easy twenty minute walk to the station. The staff was very helpful and kind. Would definitely love to stay here again.

I bokoed the room with a private open air onsen - it was amazing, unfortunately the weather wasn't great when i went, but the facilities and hotel was great.

Please make sure that you look out for the pickup vehicle. I didn't see the vehicle as they parked further down from the pickup area and only saw the hotel logo/name once it drove pass me and had to wait again for another ride while it was raining. It is a white car with a green logo, you may have to wait further down the stop or ask the information desk to park closer as they may miss you.
