The view was truly amazing! Staff were able to converse in English which made things a lot easier for us. We decided to venture out on our own but had a hard time finding our way back to the hotel at night but the hotel staff helped us to call a cab and made sure we got back safely.

Hotel was not near the shops or attractions, shuttle bus was only provided to the train station. Walk to the nearest bus stop takes about 15-20 mins if you decide to go out by yourself. Would be great if shuttle bus to nearby areas was provided, would have made our experience there better.

Phenomenal views of Mount Fuji, very helpful staff, an excellent restaurant, and a beautifully furnished room with its own hot tub with views of Mt Fuji. But what was really unforgettable is how helpful the staff were when we had left our iPad behind after checking out and leaving for the bus station. A member of their staff did not hesitate to drive directly to the bus station to return the iPad to us and did so within 15mins of being notified, allowing us to board our bus to Tokyo on time. Truly going out of their way to be helpful to us.

While its position on the hillside provides for the great views of Mt Fuji, it does mean a 10min walk to get down to the shops and restaurants by the lakeside. But turned out to be good exercise!

We can definitely repeat our stay here. Everything, the room, facility, onsen, restaurant, food, services were exceptional. Our room was on the 6th floor, facing mount Fuji. We woke up watching the sunrise behind the mountain. Pink sky. Super lovely! There's an in room bath tub where you can bath and soak in Mr Fuji full-on. The hotel has all these little perks that shows their attention to details, how much they care for their guests well-being like free 'probiotic drink' in the morning (as much as you want to drink), ice popsicles (various flavors) for the afternoon until late night. Free ramen at 10pm, just in case you feel hungry. And of course, superb onsen facility!

Quite a walk from the town's attractions (restaurants, museum). But a good exercise actually. And mainly Japanese language TV stations. Probably, they want us to look more at Mr Fuji.

The mountain view at the room is stunning. The room is spacy and cozy too. It is close to a couple of sightseeing points you can get there by few minutes walk like Itchiku museum, Music forest and Maple leave Festival venue. The staff are super friendly. My stay included two dinners with one French course and one Japanese cuisine. Both were superb. Even the heart-shape bathtub at the room had a little window for you to enjoy the Fuji mountain view while you were enjoying your bath. The stay at La Vista was definitely marvelous. I must visit it again and strongly recommend to all my friends to take this hotel.

It is as advertised, a little hotel up in the slopes, near the village but far enough you get a great view of Mt Fuji on a clear day. We picked a room facing Mt Fuji and had the ryokan in our balcony. The entire experience was great. Dont forget to try out the reserved onsen on Level 2, when you can experience the different rooms (bamboo bath, stone bath etc) The hotel is located in a good place, also wanted to share that the beds were long enough for 184cm tall people so their legs aren't hanging off the bed. Comfy beds as well. To note that i think they had really cool stuff sold in their souvenir store that i didn't notice other stores selling. Eg. Fuji Northface stickers, Fuji bowls/plates, and some interesting snacks.

It would be great to provide 2 sets of towels per person so we don't have to ask from the counter.

The resort is a short walk to the lake where you can take a nice stroll along the lakefront and get some good photos of Mt. Fuji (if it’s in view and not covered by cloud). The general area is fairly quiet and serene. There are private onsens which are available on a first in first serve basis; we managed to try 2 of the 5 different themed rooms without having to queue but we did see some people waiting during popular times. The room was quite large with a nice oversized bathroom (with tub).

Not all rooms have unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji and the lake. We were on the third floor which meant the foyer and restaurant building were in view for photos although still okay if just sitting on the balcony or in the tub. Not really a criticism but best to get the meal package unless you have transport. There aren’t many food options in walking distance. The breakfast buffet and dinner were good.

The private onsens were very welcome as no other onsens allow you to relax as a couple, and there were icecreams after! We used the spa for massages each which was also very relaxing. The shuttle bus was a really useful way of getting to and from the station.

Dinner options. The hotel should be more ready to help guests when dinner does sell out. When we asked to reserve (at about 4pm) they said it was full. Then, when we asked what alternative options were, they didnt really have much to offer - although they said "you can taxi to the other side of the lake" they didnt say where to, how long it takes, how much it costs. Having a ready "okay, dinner is full. But we can recommend these (maybe 3) restaurants in town. They serve this. Heres a map. Heres how you get there. We'll book a taxi. Alternatively there is a supermarket nearby. It takes 20mins to walk too. Here it is on the map. This is the best route" would make all the difference. As it is, we bought pot noodles from their shop and used the kettle in the room. And that was fine.

I am obsessed with this stay. The view is absolutely unbeatable. I def recommend going for the full course dinner though as well! Even me, being a vegetarian, they accommodated so well, and really made me feel as though I was getting a formal 8 course meal, even though it's mainly vegetables. The view was undeniable. The facilities were perfection. The only thing to note, was that everything is a bit old/outdated. I'm super particular and it didn't even phase me, but I certainly took note of all the things. In a way, it's a bit nice, a call to another time. But it was really like staying in a nice hotel in the 90's.

This resort property is very nice overall! My wife and I stayed here so that we could easily hike to some of the trails in the mountain range located directly behind the property. The resort has five private onsens each with a different theme. They also have two public onsens, one for males and one for females. The rooms are nice, spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet has plenty of variety. The hotel has a shuttle that will pick you up from and take you to the Kawaguchiko train/bus station. There is a wonderful gelato shop within a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Our room had spectacular views of Mt Fuji.

The location of the hotel is both a blessing and a curse. My wife and I took the train into Kawaguchiko and were able to schedule the hotel shuttle to pick us up and bring us to the hotel. Once at the hotel, there's not much around it in terms of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. A lot of the surrounding hotels and homestays have bicycles that they rent or loan out. It would be really nice if La Vista had some bikes for this purpose as we had to take a taxi all of the way back into town to then rent bikes and bike 20-25 minutes back to the hotel.

Beautiful hotel with nice public and private onsen. The breakfast buffet is delicious. The room is considered large for Japanese hotels. Staff at the front desk can speak basic English. Excellence view from my room and the restaurant as shown in the photos. Recommend for anyone who has your own vehicle.

The location is far from Kawaguchiko station and quite isolated. I rented a car so it was fine for me. However, If you use a public bus, you need to walk uphill/ downhill to the bus station. You can't reach any tourist spot by foot unless you are a strong hiker. No restaurant around, and the hotel only serves French cuisine, which is very expensive for dinner courses.
