This place is absolutely charming. Hidden among narrow streets of Porto's old city, very stylish and comfortable orginized. This apartment itself has got a soul of it's own. You wil feel it once U visit it. It is located very close to the embankment, so for those seeking for maritime atmosphere it is just perfect. And hosts. I can aasure you, you will not find any other like these owners. They are completely focused on their guests (you definitely won't feel here like a regular customer. You are a GUEST here). They are polite, helpful and simply wear hearts on their sleeves. Very friendly people, willing to help you with with every difficulty you might have. I am fully dazed with their hospitality. Long story short: you won't find any better place to stay at, once you visit Porto. Strongly recommended.

Nothing :)

From where shall I start ! I really had rough flight going to Porto and I was just losing interest in everything but just as I arrived the airport & Futso (their driver) picked me up it felt like home with his kindness and great hospitality he even showed me around the city before heading to the hotel and when I arrived I met the greatest Marta !oh this woman ! the most welcoming, dedicated, professional yet friendly person you’ll ever get to meet at a stay ! she handled everything about my stay smoothly & offered some advises about places and things to do with all her heart & energy ! they were the most helpful team , I had many heavy luggages and they didn’t make me feel it was an issue taking them up on stairs, we even had it like an inside joke & laughed about it ! the breakfast felt like home very cozy & neat..Thank you for your hospitality

nothing really ! I definitely will repeat my stay & recommend it to friends..the only thing is that they don’t have elevator but if you have a condition or something you can just ask them for 1st floor room or something they will always do their best to make the stay as perfect as you expect if not more !

Everything was absolutely perfect! The location of the accommodation is in the old town, close to both Porto's historic center, and the Douro river esplanade, so most places of interest are within walking distance. Our room was very clean, had everything we needed for our stay, including a really nice view of the narrow streets of Porto old town. The hosts are among the nicest people we ever met, very friendly and welcoming, we truly felt like family! We also took advantage of one of their tours of the Douro valley (highly recommend), and had an amazing day enjoying the countryside, seeing the Douro wine region, and of course tasting the famous Porto wine. A trip to Porto is not complete without tasting their Pastel de nata (had them at breakfast, amazing!), and the famous and delicious Francesinha, which we enjoyed in an authentic family style at O Tasco Do João :) Thank you, Maria, Fausto and Marta for having us! We'll surely return!

The hotel is located in the heart of the old city. It is very convenient to get to any point of interest. Close to the train and bus station. The room is very stylish, clean, and comfortable. The staff cleaned the room every day. I would like to make a special mention of the warm welcome of the owners. The atmosphere was just like at home. They were friendly, they could help you find anything you needed, book a restaurant, call the pharmacy, and make any necessary reservations. They always welcome guests with a small but very nice compliment (Pastel de nata and Port wine). And the breakfasts, in general, deserve a separate review, as they are very tasty! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Maria da Se. We will definitely go back there! And of course, we would highly recommend it to anyone!

This was our first trip to Portugal and it exceeded our expectations. Porto is a beautiful city, full of history and culture, and the people are warm and welcoming. We stayed in Maria da SE and it was phenomenal. First, the location is great: it is in central Porto, in the historical part, and within walking distance of a lot of landmarks. Our bedroom was on the first floor; it was lovely, comfortable and very clean. Every morning, we would have a copious and delicious breakfast made by our hosts (spoiler: Maria’s pasteis de nata are something out of this world). Now for our hosts: I can’t describe how nice and helpful they were. They took such great care of us and went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. Huge thanks to the staff and to our hosts for making our time in Porto so special!

What we liked about the property: location, host, breakfast, and cleanliness! All were superb. Helena was personable and engaging. We really appreciated the fact she took time to give us tips on things to see in Porto when we first arrived.

Our room was small, but we knew this when we booked based on other reviews. A great value nonetheless.

Marta was a wonderful host - treats on arrival, excellent communication before hand and a thorough recommendation of sights to visit in Porto. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable and there was enough space in the small double for two people and our suitcases (other reviews have the size of the room as a negative, but I booked a small double and got a small double - exactly as expected!). It’s an old building (gorgeous) on a lovely side street, close to the cathedral, one of my favourite viewpoints (Miradouro da Rua das Aldas) and a short walk downhill to the River Duoro. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, but were able to help ourselves to hot drinks in the evening (no facilities in the rooms). We were also able to leave our luggage for a few hours after we checked out. If I come back to Porto I will definitely stay again.

Nothing, it was lovely.

Before rating the regular features I’d like to add a word about Helena and her personal attention given to her guests. from the arrival to departure, we were always offered a free drink, a free chaser, pastel denata… she gave us valuable tips and guide and she was there for any question we had whether about the history and tradition or simply where to go and what to do. All excellent tips, and we thank her for that! And now to the rest, location is PERFECT and this is most important! The place has a vibe, breakfast was superb, and all in all, Helena and her place made our stay in Porto into an unforgettable one.
