Great location, right in the centre. Good enough arrangement for the parking: you can unload luggage first, everything went ok and not much distance to walk back. The hotel has an old but nice look-and-feel, beautiful design of furniture, breakfast area, lobby bar, etc. Room was spacious enough, and with a design integrated in the overall aspect of the hotel.

Cleanliness should've been done better: dust in some areas, mold in some places in the shower... Bathroom design is not too good, the big glass shower door is hitting stuff when you open it. Bathroom sink has distinct taps for cold & hot water; this is impractical, and design is not an argument, as you can find modern taps that still have the old design.

The location is excellent, right next to the station and overlooking the large busy station square. We had a balcony room booked which was great - we saw some of the other rooms when cleaning was in progress, they were smaller, but I can't comment on that otherwise. Nice large bathroom. Excellent breakfast in great surrounding. Staff very attentive. Book a balcony room for the little extra, it's worth it!

A walk-in shower rather than having to step in a very deep bathtub to shower would have been good. The room is big enough and could easily accommodate it.

I adored this old hotel renovated in retro style, with flowery wallpapers, dark interiors, old pieces of furniture, and a cozy bed you sink in feeling you will sleep for 2 days. If you come by train/bus, the location is excellent, and it is not a problematic quarter. I loved the breakfast as well - plenty of choices and everything tasted delicious. The atmosphere in the dark and cozy breakfast room was also great, with dimmed lights from retro lamps and classical music and soundtracks being played. Would definitely stay there again.

Only minor things - the isolation between rooms could be improved and the storage room could be moved towards the ground floor, since it is a challenge to carry heavy luggage to the half-floor, even if not more than 10 stairs.

The hotel is older, well maintained with lots of character. The rooms are well sized, with nice bathrooms. They still use keys to unlock the rooms and you leave them at reception when you go out, as it was done in the "olden days" of travel. Breakfast buffet was very good. The location was good, easy to walk to restaurants and shopping.

My room overlook the trolley tracks, so was noisy at night. There was no parking at the hotel and accessing a parking lot proved to be a challenge. The city is undergoing major roadworks, with many streets completely dug up. Best to park your car wherever you find a spot and leave it there for the duration of your visit to the city, as we did. We were unaware of the extent of road construction happening. There is little guidance on how to negotiate driving and the ap we were using was out of date.

The hotel is in a very central location, next to the central bus and train station. It is well served by the local transport system (buses and tram). The building has an old vibe but it does not feel "tired". The personnel was very friendly and and helpful, and you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the lobby or take it in your room.

If there is something negative to state it may be the somewhat limited breakfast choices, however, none of the usual staples were missing. Another potential issue, which did not bother me at all but it may be important for other lodgers, is that the hotel is surrounded by tram lines and depending on the side of the hotel you reside, tremors or some noise may be felt when a tram passes by. Nevertheless, this is minimal, especially the noise and for me did not constitute a problem at all.

Lovely breakfast, lots of choice and really yummy, but dining room was candlelit which was a bit weird for in the morning. However we managed to find a table in daylight. Good view from the room! Staff were very nice.

There was no proper screen and seal around the bath so water went everywhere....so we got soggy socks. The shower bracket was also dodgy and kept on falling off. We did find out they were refurbishing the bathrooms ...maybe we were just unlucky that we got a room with an old bathroom.

We loved our superior room with the balcony! It was lovely to throw open the doors and look at all the hustle and bustle below. The room was beautifully appointed, and the bed was comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the breakfast was plentiful.

The bathroom was a bit tired and needs and upgrade, the tables weren’t set at the breakfast restaurant, and getting access to one’s key after a day out was sometimes very slow.

Room was nice, comfortable and clean and had nice decorations. The view was nice and bright. The breakfast had a nice selection and was delicious. The staff was very nice and was always available to help.

The TV in our room was a bit crooked and difficult to adjust. It was on an arm but couldn't be extended too far - because it became crooked or bumped into the closet - which made it a little difficult to see from the bed - but it wasn't too bad.

This place has a unique genius loci. Fascinating and magic hotel with a perfect location which makes you feel like a time traveller. Especially the bar and the dining&breakfast area with all the real candle lights and the soft piano music (and of course with a delicious cuisine) makes you to forget the stress and the hurried life style of nowadays. It was our pure joy to stay here :) .... a special thanks to a young lady at the reception for a perfect recommendation (beeing on duty on Sunday morning / catchword - shrimp sandwich)

It all went very well. The staff were friendly and very helpful and informative. They gave us lots of ideas for places to see and how to get around on the trams and ferries. The hotel restaurant food was excellent, breakfasts were very good indeed, dinners featured some local dishes too. The hotel has many historic features and its dining room is an amazingly lovely survival from an earlier age of elegance.

It was all just fine! We'd go again any time!
