Everything, from the friendly welcome, storing our gear because we arrived early, comfort, outside furniture and inside, brilliant food, both in the evening and breakfast, great rooms, clean , spacious, amazingly comfortable beds, (if a little low for us less athletic types)😁 and fantastic showers. The prices were very reasonable, we were blown away by the place and will stay again if in the area.

Nothing, You have fantastic staff and a well thought out place. We've toured on our motorcycles a lot, and stayed in many places, yours is at the top of the list.

Lovely restaurant attached to the hotel with some good variety on the menu. Our evening meal was delicious and fairly priced. Breakfast was also well presented and good value. We saw a small deer crossing the car park late in the afternoon, making its way up the wooded hill at the back of the property, so a bit of wildlife spotting to round off the day.

There was no food available when we arrived mid-afternoon so we had to make our way to a nearby Morrison's to put us on 'til dinner. The room was OK but everything seemed a bit tired. It was rather cold when we were there and there was no heating in the public bar / conservatory so we didn't linger past one drink.

Staff are lovely, location is great (handy woods opposite where you can walk a dog), breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order, room was huge and bathroom large too. Decor is really nice and clearly redone fairly recently. You can tell the owners are trying hard to make your stay good.. You're given room keys so no need to go through reception each time you leave. The restaurant on site is also great, the ambience and food were amazing.

The main issue was the bed. Room 5 has a king size bed which is only about 12 inches off the floor, not great for those not in the first flush of youth. Plus the mattress was foam and just too soft, I'm a little overweight and could feel the bed slats through it. I sleep on my side and my hips were far too low, whilst my head was too high, resulting in feeling very uncomfortable and struggling to sleep. The shower cubicle was quite small, odd in a large bathroom, but it worked ok. It's the bed that puts me off staying again.

Stayed here in a family room the night before taking a flight from Newcastle airport, us and our adult children. The room was very clean, comfy beds, and plenty of room for the four of us and all our cases. We felt like we were on holiday from the moment we arrived! The gardens were beautiful and with the sun shining it felt like we were somewhere in the Med not close to Newcastle. The breakfast on the morning of departure was delicious, freshly cooked to order with other items to help yourself to. We didn't feel rushed or anything and we enjoyed a lovely leisurely start to the day. The airport was only about 15 minutes away which was so convenient. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return some day.

Can't think of anything

We had our wedding here and we can’t praise Michelangelo’s enough, they went above and beyond for us, rooms are spacious and comfortable, tea and coffee facilities in each room. The decor is very Mediterranean and makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a restaurant in Italy. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is superb Paulo is passionate about the food he serves and it shows , Giacamo works hard to make sure the service is top notch and Katie’s attention to detail is second to none, we would highly recommend Michelangelo’s to anyone for a wedding, they certainly got our vision of our special day and made it perfect.

There’s nothing I can say I didn’t like

Location ideal for me. Easy access to motorways when driving and bus stop right outside. Very clean. staff very pleasant nothing was too much trouble. I always have to ask for a hairdryer but it is there within minutes. I always ask for a room that has not had a pet in it so I nearly always get Room 2. I have stayed here several times and will do in the future. The breakfast is delicious. You can help yourself to Continental, make your own toast and get your own coffee. if you prefer tea you can have several teapots if you wish. The full English is delicious and freshly cooked to order. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is a hidden gem.

The weather!

The property was very cute and quaint in its own ways - had a warmth about it with great rooms and very clean. Facilities were brilliant and the location was perfect for getting to the Utilita arena and the airport, with lovely surroundings. The restaurant and bar were great, breakfast had lots of choices and delicious. The food was great and presented so well - sausages deserve their own call our, fantastic. The staff could t have been more helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely be back when we next stay in Newcastle, was a great experience.

N/A - no complaints from us!

Friendly and helpful staff. There was some form of promotion on 'Booking.com', which made it excellent value. The room was spacious and clean,with a good en-suite bathroom, with a bathtub and shower over. The adjoining Italian restaurant has a good menu, and is reasonably priced. There is a special offer menu served from noon until 6pm, which offers excellent value. Breakfast is standard.

Very little hotel information in the bedroom. The door to room one was very fiddly to open. No handles are fitted in the bath/shower, and it would be safer for more elderly guests if there were. Whilst I had the room for solo occupancy, the room was designed as a spacious double, but only had one bedside table, and only one comfortable chair. A written breakfast menu, with a fish option would be better than just a verbal menu. A properly surfaced car park would be an improvement

Breakfast was excellent, we liked that we could eat there in the evening without having to go elsewhere and just relax plus the food we had was very good. Staff were really considerate and helpful too. We needed an early breakfast on the Saturday morning which was arranged especially for us, very much appreciated this.

We had a double room which only one bedside table could have done with another the other side as there were two of us. Could also do with a shower that has a bit stronger flow the one in the room we had was a bit slow.
