We loved our stay at The Twice Brewed Inn. As soon as we got there someone helped us with our bags. We knew our room would be basic by the website pics, but it had everything we needed we could see parts of Hadrian's wall from our room window. We had a great seat at dinner with a view of the garden and the Roman Soldier. The food was delish we tried some local recommended dishes. After dinner we ventured to the classic bar area and tried the Twice Brewed Lager and Gin which was also very nice. It was rainy so missed the stars, but it was still an enjoyable night. The next day was started with a beautiful breakfast, and some recommend local sites by the friendly team members to visit on our way to Edinburgh via Hadrian's Wall. This epic part of the world has so much to offer we said we would be back and will tell

We loved it. Although it was a little hard to find, we turned off to early and drove through the village. The Sat Nav told us to go back across the highway where we saw a sign to Once Brewed. So we followed that and ended up next door. We must have come in the back way. It was very scenic Maybe more signage for lost Australians 🦘

Great location. Friendly pub with own beers.

Room was tiny, double bed right against window /wall. Steps down to bathroom which was larger than expected when room size considered. Food was a mixed bag, we ate evening meal in pub, my main off the specials board was excellent, my husband’s pie, disappointing. Waiting staff at breakfast rude, told us off for sitting at a table (we waited at the entrance for 5 mins to be seated but no sign of anyone) because apparently we were reserved on a table elsewhere in the restaurant. This was near end of breakfast time and there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant! By contrast, lovely friendly lady in the brewery shop!

Large premises for a rural location so didn't feel like you were isolated. Beautiful scenery front and back of premises, delicious food with a great breakfast selection, cooked and continental. The staff make this place worth many visits. They are of mixed ages but all so friendly, chatty, polite, and massively dog friendly. They go above and beyond to help make your stay relaxing, suitable for your needs, and even adjust the set cooked breakfast choices to our needs (diabetic). They are a credit to the B&B, was very impressed with how sociable and polite the younger staff were as well and they seemed to enjoy the interaction with guests rather than feeling they were there just to earn their wage. Best place we have ever stayed and can't wait to go back.

Absolutely no negative comments to make, could not fault anything. Only one suggestion would be a facility or space to clean dogs down in winter as was worried about trailing muddy paws through the beautiful accomodation.. we have a mud daddy for mobile cleaning but others may not.

Lovely pub perfect for a night whilst walking the Hadrian’s wall. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, dinner was good with a great range of options. A table was reserved for the whole evening for us as we were staying the night and a good breakfast included in the price (continental and cooked options available). Good toiletries provided in the bathroom and a great shower, which was really welcome after a long day of walking. Lovely pub really geared up for walkers.

The room and bathroom was a little on the small side but okay for a night.

Great stay staff wonderful, enjoyable nice and relaxing environment. Loved the fact that your restaurant table was yours for the evening just go when you’re ready to eat no set times food was of a very high standard fantastic.

Tap / sampling room was out of action due to an issue which was a shame hopefully it will be available when we go back would have loved to try a few more of the on-site beers. There was however a selection available in the bar.

We thought the staff were amazing - during our stay the boiler bursts and caused the fire alarms to go off at around 7 in the morning - the staff running back and forth for over an hour to fix the problem. Unbelievably they still managed to feed us all a delicious breakfast & with a smile. All the food served was delicious and good value - location excellent for Hadrians Wall - great atmosphere in all areas.

We liked everything.

Lovely friendly staff, who despite being very busy gave us a warm welcome & nothing was too much trouble. Great Sunday Roast, big hearty breakfast and extremely comfortable beds made for a super stay. The drying room was excellent & really handy. Local bus stops outside & next door. Easy access to great walks & The Wall. Perfect. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay again.

Only that we didn't get a chance to stay for longer.

staff were excellent - very helpful and polite. Evening meal was superb - accompanied by some lovely beer from the brewery! Room was very clean and comfortable (a fan was provided which was great due to the temperature both inside and out). Everything in the room worked well and decor fitted with the local area. The setting was beautiful - views of Hadriens wall and surrounding countryside.

there were some Hadrien wall walkers that rose very early and were extremely noisy in the corridors - we were in a room very close to the main stair so heard them all unfortunately (including the woman singing!). Would ask for a quieter positioned room in future (had this on a previous stay and didn't get disturbed at all).

We only took the more than adequate "Continental". From what I saw of other peoples cooked breakfasts they looked very appetizing and there was a good choice.

We booked the Stargazing Experience. Last time it was really fantastic, unfortunately the cloud did not allow any stargazing this time. but Wil gave a very informative talk in the planetarium and kept trying till mid night to blow the clouds away.

Proximity to Vindolanda, Hadrian’s Wall and Sycamore Gap was superb. Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Food in the restaurant was also great. The highlight was the stargazing tour run by Wil. Even though it was a fairly cloudy night, he still managed to show us plenty of stars, the craters on the moon and we even saw the ISS go past. The talk and Planetarium Experience were also excellent and I would highly recommend it. Wil was very knowledgeable and passionate about Astronomy which made it even more memorable.
