ibis Paris Canal Saint Martin

The location was great. Central, 5 minute walk from a metro. About 30 mins on metro to Eiffel Tower but that was fine as we wanted somewhere with a luggage room and to be near Gare Du Nord so our luggage was close by to pick up on our way to the station at 6pm that day.

There was a few small strange marks on the wall in the bathroom that looked suspiciously like poo splatter but that is the only fault I could find. The room was very clean so think it had just been missed.

Lack of toiletries

Very friendly staff! Good breakfast. The room was a little small but clean; worked for me. During those hot August days it's good there's an AC in the room. Had to run it on full power for quite a while. It's quite a distance to the main sights of Paris, but metro stations are just a few walking minutes away. There's also a few supermarchés close and a few bars and restaurants. The train station (gare de l'est) is very close. I was travelling with my bicycle and asked during the booking process if there's a secure place for my bike. And yes, they let me put my bike in the locked backyard. Thank you for that! :-) There's also a storage room for your luggage if you have to kill some time after ckecking out. Like all big cities, Paris isn't cheap, but this hotel has a really good value for money.

Value for money. Suitable for couples. The best location to stay if you choose to move with public transportation. Very close to the terminal station Gare de l' est with straight connection to the airport.

Pro: + the confort of the room + polite stuff + cleanliness and attention to room cleaning. We came on evening and the room was cleaned + I asked to a upper floor room and the stuff agreed

Cons: - no working elevator - no room with Canal view(as I wished) but we stayed at 5th floor and it was a view to the street - the neighbourhood does not inspire safety in the late evening

I absolutely loved the Coziness of the place. Eventhough the room seems small it is absolutely perfect and has everything you need. Could not praise it enough. The room had air conditioning which was lovely when its 26degrees outside and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable and its definitely somewhere I would recommend. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and have a dedicated locked room to keep luggage after check out. It really surpassed my expectations.

The hotel was in a great location. very clean inside and out. even though it’s right next to a busy road it wasn’t a disturbance. everything you needed was in the room. most of the staff are happy to help and very pleasant. the room was cleaned daily. metros, corner shops, decent cafe, pharmacies all nearby.

there was never the same member of staff on the desk and even though I tried my best to communicate in french one of the staff rolled their eyes at me. the pillows and duvet were perfect but the bed itself gave me back ache. also when asking for food options the guy showed me to frozen meal options which were tasty but for €26 they weren’t that tasty. that’s without a drink.

The room was clean, breakfast was good and the Staff was friendly and welcoming. The wifi was good enough, but I didn't use it extensively.

The price when I stayed was way too high, but it was also related to a short notice booking and Fete de la Musique that happened in Paris during my stay. The room didn't have a fridge or a safebox.

Breakfast could be served until a little later than 10:00 am. Whole area SEEMS somewhat dangerous but nothing happened to us though.

Room was comfortable and quiet. breakfast was ok. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Location was good, never felt uncomfortable in the neighbourhood (contrary to some reviews). Three metro stops within 5 mins of the hotel was perfect for getting around Paris.

Smoke alarm activation at half five on the Sunday morning. No explanation or apology. Burnt bacon by the breakfast chef apparently.
