The location was so great-- just a few hundred meters from St. Peter's square, and about a 10 minute walk from the Metro stop, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, which we loved. It was so nice to be able to step outside and have 10+ places to eat within just a minute or so walk. Transportation was also good-- lots of buses near the river outside St. Peter's square, or the nearby Piazza del Risorgimento-- a couple buses go directly from there to the Colosseum, which we really appreciated! The room was spacious, with plenty of room for our luggage and a couch to lay/sit on, plus a lovely window view of the nearby buildings. Wifi was strong, and there was a TV, minifridge, and kettle in the room. There is also a very European-sized (read: tiny) elevator, which was very nice when carrying suitcases up to the room. You can also leave your luggage if you check in early, or for the day after you check out if you're still exploring. Oh and there's a nice outdoor space in the courtyard which was shady and cool, although there were mosquitos and flies, so be warned. Overall, we had a really nice stay at Anna Hotel and would recommend it to people who are looking for a quiet place to stay near restaurants and cafes. It is not in the middle of the tourist spaces on the other side of the river, but we appreciated that! Also, the staff were all so lovely and kind and helpful.

The bed was a little hard, but that's fairly typical for Europe, so not much to be done, there. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, so we skipped it and opted for a nearby cafe for a typical Italian breakfast (coffee and a pastry). If you want something a little heartier, or you want eggs or something, the breakfast might be worth it. The A/C worked, but it was not very strong, so just something to know if you're planning for a very hot month. It was okay for us; temperatures were in the low 80s and it was semi humid, but I would imagine it might be harder during a hotter time.

The hotel was ideally located - minutes from St Peters. The Staff were brilliant, they could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was more than enough to start the day. Tea/Coffee/Toast/Cereal/ fresh Fruit/ Bacon/Eggs/ Croissants and other pastry. The hotel was very clean and the rooms attended to every day by very helpful staff. They also had a lovely outdoor area to relax in on the ground floor as well as a couple of rooms indoor on the ground floor to relax in. They had free access 24/7 to a computer near the reception to enable us to check online for tourist activities. When we checked out they provided a storage place for our bags so that we could continue to sight see , as we had a very late flight home. All in all , excellent place to stay for a holiday in Rome.

Nothing really. The Hotel met our expectations for a short break in Rome . All we wanted was a good hotel, clean, good breakfast and in a location near the Vatican. It didn't have the facilities of a larger brand name hotel - swimming pool / gym etc but had everything we wanted for a lovely nice break in a hectic city.

If you want to visit Vatican, you should definitly stay at S. Anna as the location is perfect. But getting to Rome down town is not so difficult eighther (cost 8€ by taxi), and if you are more than 2 people the taxi price is very reasonable. The street wher the hotel is located is pedestrian, but don't be worried about your laguages at your arrival, the taxi lets you at the corner and you only have 15 step to get to the hotel. The hotel has severel cozy lounges at the entrence level and a nice garden. The rooms are clean and the breakfast very decent. No noise around. Staff was very professional and smily. We felt ourselves like at home. Thanks !

the only problem was that we have been asked to check out at 10:30. It's quite early comparing to other hotels when it's at 12 or 13h. But they proposed their lagguage rooms (we could rest at one of their lounges until our departure time).

My sister and I stayed here on the last leg of our backpacking tour, and we absolutely loved it. From the communication around airport transportation, to the kindness of the staff, to the prime location, everything was nothing but amazing. The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk to the Vatican, and is located on a street that has plenty of food options. It is clean, has air conditioning, and the room we stayed in was beautiful. The staff members were so helpful and friendly. Overall, the Hotel Santa Anna helped make the end of our Italy Tour special and relaxing.

There was very little to dislike about this experience. Perhaps the beds were a bit firm for my taste--but I found that to be a common experience throughout Europe travels in general, so I can't really hold that too hard against anyone. It was still absolutely comfortable enough to fall asleep and relax after a long day.

Excellent location, quiet, charming — room was lovely and shower was spectacular. Enjoyed their wholesome Italian-style breakfast with delicious cappuccino every morning, which was so convenient and well worth 11€! Before arriving, I was in communication with the hotel to make changes/special request s— they reassured me they would work and do their to meet my needs — early check-in being a main concern as I was traveling with my son and our red eye flight arrived early morning… when we checked in (around 8am on a Sunday, they knew who we were and were expecting us— this was very encouraging). They kept our bags while we headed to their breakfast, walked around St Peter’s square for a little bit (yes, it’s that close) and when we returned around 9:30– our room was ready!! We got our showers and napped a few hours…worked perfectly. it was a delightful experience and when we return, we going right back to Hotel Sant’Anna! No need to go anywhere else.

The extra firm mattress…. but I still woke up refreshed each morning, so I suppose it wasn’t really bad.

We have stayed here before and loved it. Smaller hotels appeal to me. Gorgeous interiors with wood accents, good soft lighting, and plenty of room. Nice. Clean. Well maintained rooms, bathrooms, and hotel areas. When a hotel is well maintained it shows they care. AND the staff very much cares about their guests. It feels like family!! I also like that someone is at the front 24 hours. Feels safe. The location is amazing especially if you're interested in the Vatican. Near to many areas. We booked a tripple room to get a little more space and I think it was worth it. I will always stay there when in Rome! Grazie Hotel Sant'Anna!

Nothing! Only one comment would be a little more salad items on the breakfast would be nice. We're gluten free and they did have stuff for us!

I would say the location. Just next to St. Peter's Basilica. Lots of restaurants and mini marts on the hotel street. Around 15mins walk to the Ottaviano Metro station. Wifi and AC was great. I liked the old italian style of architecture and room decorations. Simple but delicious breakfast, great coffee and corneto, along with cheeze omlets and cereals etc. Great Italian hospitality.😊

Hotel cost and the small elevator. I toured from 1-5th August, which may be the reason for high rent. Dont expect the Italian hotels near tourist points to be large and extravagant. Heat was scorching during mid day, but soothing at evening. Also I had to watch Barbie with my 14year old.

We traveled to Rome on our honeymoon and went to Venice, Florence, and the Amalfi Coast as well. This hotel was the most comfortable place we stayed in. The room was large with many seating areas, the bathroom had a nice large shower, and the staff was on duty 24/7. Breakfast was delicious and the street the hotel was on was lovely as well.

The elevator is a little claustrophobic, but it’s a cool old building so that makes sense. Rome is big, and this property is great for going to the Vatican City, but is farther away from other landmarks like the colosseum, trevi fountain, and pantheon.

The location was ideal, could not of been any closer to Vatican. Location to mini market, restaurants including McDonalds 😃 all on our street. Hotel arranged airport drop off and pick up for us. (€60 in and €55 out). We got taxis to Colosseum and Pantheon etc was (12 over 6 to 9 back) again arranged by hotel. They could jot have been more helpful and we are planning our trip back for same time next year. The breakfast was really great and loads of it. Beds so comfortable and shower was lovely too. Room was cleaned thoroughly each day and the whole place was spotless.

An absolutely beautiful little hotel, incredibly well located in a quiet street round the corner from the Vatican. A fabulous location! Also a fabulous hotel, full of charm. We couldn’t fault it. The ambience is delightful, it’s warmly welcoming with bilingual staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Facilities are excellent and the style is chic but utterly suited to this sixteenth century building. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and attentive service. We absolutely loved it and will certainly come again.

Nothing. One of the most pleasant hotels we have ever stayed in.
