Located in a perfect spot, Host made us very welcome when we arrived, we booked the cottage, it was lovely decorated beautifully, Beds comfortable, shower hot! Good decent kitchen utensils collection!!! which always drive me mad when I go away so I always end up bringing my own! I didn’t need to this time. We came down to go to Russell Brands community, (won’t be rushing back) however next time I am only coming down for a longer stay at the cottage! Easy drive into little town, supermarket and some cute shops, we went to a Tapas at a place called Tomatios which was nice. We also drove over to the Breacon Beacons which wasn’t too far away and it’s all absolutely stunning! I highly recommend this place it was a delight x

The property has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Beautifully situated in the Welsh borders near Hay on Wye. Gorgeous scenery surrounds this traditional Victorian house set on the banks of the River Wye. The elegant house was spacious and beautifully decorated in calming colours. The room was comfortable, clean and generous supplies of tea and coffee were available. The bathroom was heaven with traditional fittings and a wonderful shower all recently fitted. The breakfast menu offered a range of amazing treats and the Full English was delicious. The hosts were extremely welcoming and offered advice on local attractions and facilities in the surrounding area. Peaceful location for walking, fishing and exploring the countryside.

Genuinely a little gem to be recommended to friends.

This is a first rate B&B and completely concur with all the other 5 star reviews. We had no plans to return to this part of Herefordshire but having enjoyed our brief stay so much we are now planing a further visit here as a base from which to further explore the area. Thanks very much to the oweners, James and Fiona.

Nothing about the establishment. However it was fruststrating to see the lower ratings of a few previous guests who clearly hadn't read the description of what they had booked and had totally unrealistic expectations of the facilities provided by a B&B.

The hosts were amazing, friendly and hospitable, the breakfasts were great and with several options, we had full english and poached eggs with smoked salmon, both wonderfully cooked. The location is stunning, with the River Wye literally a stones throw away. We ate at the local Boat Inn, which is just 50-100 metres from the property. We would have been happy with the standard room we booked, but were pleasantly surprised to find that the hosts had upgraded us to the Agents Office, which was superbly appointed and had a very hand kitchenette. This meant that we didnt have to eat out every night.

We cant think of anything that we were dissatisfied with.

The room was beautiful, really luxurious and comfortable with a log burner and loads of interesting period features. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. Breakfast was excellent, they had put a lot of thought in to the menu and clearly love food and cooking. I had french-toast style crumpets with bacon and maple syrup, which I've never seen anywhere else and were excellent!

The hosts were thoughtful and did their best to help with the unexpected warm weather. Breakfast was good with some out of the ordinary choices. Fresh raspberries from their garden! Shower nice, washcloths provided which was lovely for this American couple.

With the heat and humidity, a larger fan would have been nice, otherwise everything was great.

Breakfast was excellent: fresh orange juice followed by a good range of cooked options. I ate the porridge, which was served with a selection of fruit plus nuts and seeds. Location was quiet, but a short drive from Hay-on-Wye. Black mountains and Brecon Beacons within easy reach. Room was well-equipped with a comfortable bed and excellent shower.

No adverse comments.

The location was perfect, breakfasts were cooked fresh, nicely presented and very generous. Fiona and James were extremely helpful, they offered and booked a Restaurant for us. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

We would find it hard to find fault. At times our room was on the cold side.

The property was a home from home. electric blinds, underfloor heating. Clean facilities, excellent products available to use. Own driveway for parking, I just cannot rate this property high enough.

Literally nothing!!!

We had the Agent’s house to ourselves which was really nice. Fiona and James are delightful, very welcoming. In addition , there were lovely personal touches- delicious home made cakes, v nice toiletries. Breakfasts were wonderful. Highly recommended.
