Attractive period property close to centre of nice town. Parking, Spacious corner room (twin) with windows to front and side. Popular and well run bar and restaurant area. Attentive and 'hands on' owner assisting with service of good and reasonably priced food. Nice breakfast. Another enjoyable evening on the Offa's Dyke Path

An observation really: The grey carpet on the stairs and landing is perhaps not very practical in a hotel that will attract walkers and the room could have done with something like a tray for muddy boots.

Vey friendly welcome by the young lady behind the bar when I arrived. Lovely choice of food for evening meal, and nothing was too much trouble to accommodate my requests. Food was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Staff were also most helpful and attentive. Likewise breakfast. The young man was very friendly, and my request for only scrambled eggs and baked beans, without toast was not a problem. I would definitely stay here again if in the area, and would recommend to friends.

Absolutely nothing.

The location was excellent. Staff were brilliant and very helpful. Food was excellent too. The bed was amazingly comfortable.

The room was a little compact. Couldn't fully open en suite door. But that wasn't a huge problem. Was very disappointed with the peppercorn sauce served with the absolutely fabulous steak that we had. Sauce looked like it was water based and very glutinous and very bland.

Staff very friendly. Good evening meal, and great breakfast promptly served. WiFi and shower very good.

Didn’t like decor of bedroom, with huge artificial looking flower all over one wall and reflected in mirror. Not enough space to put things on, eg table or cupboard tops. Didn’t like tinted mirror in bathroom, giving a very dark effect. A pity we bought and paid for our drinks at bar as we picked up menus, only to be immediately told we could get a free drink with certain orders - a bit late by then!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Small but very comfortable room, with plush carpet, large wardrobe and excellent en suite. Very good vegetarian dinners in bar (with very nice beer) and superb breakfast made to order. Very quiet too, had no problem sleeping despite noisy Jubilee party in bar.

The mattress on the (single) bed felt cheap and squashy - the springs were noticeable - but it didn't bother me and I slept as well as I do at home.

The room was small but fully functional. We’ve paid more for far worse in the past. The bar area and garden looked lovely, clean, tidy and really nicely presented. The pride flag was also flying when we arrived which meant an instant relax as we knew we were in a safe and accepting place, which is always a concern when going away.

The blue mirror in the bathroom! Actually made it quite hard to see in, especially as the light above didn’t work.

Breakfast was poor as the cook could cook eggs! Poached were too difficult and the fried egg I ordered was flat like a piece of plastic with no visible yolk and the sausage was not a very nice taste.

The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and nicely decorated with extremely comfy beds. Also a very quiet night to sleep, no road or inside noises at all, a very relaxing and peaceful night. A lovely evening meal and also breakfast in the morning.

Really friendly and polite staff. I had an evening meal and breakfast and the food was very good: perfectly cooked, tasty and you can tell they use good ingredients.

I stayed in the small single room as it was just me. It clean and well decorated, but the ensuite was a little small. Car park can get a bit busy, but there is plenty of parking nearby.

Comfy room, nicely decorated. Good breakfast. Fun evening in the bar watching the darts match.

The window in the room could have been easier to open, and could have opened more - it was quite a warm day and a good blast of cool air would have helped.
