Grange Portland Hotel

Hotel room very comfortable location of hotel was good

Having paid for a breakfast this was only continental, had to pay extra for an English breakfast, considering the initial I thought the extra cost was excessive.

Great size room, lots of natural light and a very comfy bed, Check in was very simple, room was clean, would have loved AC (For the few days of hot weather we get) but they supplied a couple of fans in the room which was ok

Breakfast, and attitude of the serving staff at breakfast, We were told that tea had finished but only 9.30 on a Saturday, so gave us a hot water pot, But nothing else, kept having to go back and ask for tea bags, milk, spoons, We felt very rushed as soon as we sat down and that we were being a pain for asking

Great location for British Museum, theatres, Underground, Oxford Street, and some nice pubs. Very large room with comfortable bed. Nice little kitchenette. The room was on the street side of the hotel but we had no problem with traffic noise. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We did have to check in and out at a sister hotel just down the street, but that was no problem. Didn't order breakfast, so can't comment on that.

The decor looked a bit well-used and tired, but that wasn't a concern. We had a good stay.

We originally booked at the Grange Portland but were changed to their sister hotel and when we arrived our room was not ready, however the staff were wonderful, they could not have been more helpful. We waited no more that 10 minutes and received a complimentary breakfast which was also excellent. The decor was dated but the room was large,, lovely and bright and spotlessly clean. Our room was cleaned each day, we were also given new towels each day and on the second day new bedding. There was a good choice of continental and English breakfast and the food was lovely

If I was to be critical, there were only two cups and saucers despite the room being a three person room and no tea pots at breakfast.

For us,the location was superb for going to our show and we also felt price wise for a really lovely hotel in that location, was top notch.Will definitely use this hotel again.

No complaints.

Spacious, clean, close to the underground and only a short walk to the shops and National Museum. The manager, Nick, was very helpful and kind ensuring we were happy with our room and it meet all our requirements (we were traveling with one person using a wheelchair).

Was quite expensive and the kitchenette advertised consists of only a microwave and bar fridge (and an electric jug).

We were offered a great room facing over a park. The property was located on a quiet street within really easy walking distance to the train station, as well as everything in central London. The staff were friendly and efficient and communicated to us well the fact that we would be staying in the Grange Beauchamp (on the same street) as a posed to the Portland.

Nothing that I can particularly fault as we had overall a great stay and felt the hotel was good value for the money we paid.

The breakfast was excellent and the location of the hotel is great, just 15 minutes walk from a lot of sights

The creaky floors. Unfortunately for our last 2 nights it sounded like there was an elephant parading around the room above us preventing us from sleeping.

We were moved to a sister hotel a few doors away at a few days notice. The room we were given was very nice but didn't have all the features I'd originally booked (kitchenette) . The staff however were very helpful and brought us a microwave wave and a mini fridge. The room was spacious and the bed was huge. The continental breakfast was lovely and the staff quickly replenished items when they were running low. My daughter enjoyed her cooked breakfast for a £4 supplement.

As previous visitors have said the cold water tap was lukewarm and the beds a little hard for my preference however none of this detracted from a lovely stay.

Excellent staff - couldn't do enough for us. Superb location - you can't beat Bloomsbury. The whole stay exceeded our expectations. Despite having to be moved to the Grange Buckingham prior to arrival, it was literally down the road and to an equal standard of room we'd booked (more of a suite really - very nicely appointed if not a little worn here and there). We received an upgrade on breakfast as an apology as well as a late checkout, all of which was a bonus as the food was excellent (all served out of another sister hotel but again no issue at all - the staff worked super hard to serve everyone courteously and quickly). Do go for a drink in the Grange White Hall gardens - they are lovely. We'd most certainly stay there again, particularly given the value of the stay over three days.
