Very comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. Very clean. Lots of towels. great location for major galleries, shops and restaurants. We had room only as lots of cafes around for breakfast. The hotel breakfast is in my opinion over priced at £28 pp. I had room service once and it was very good and the restaurant has a small menu but good quality food.

At check-in the hotel requests that you commit to an "optional" £10 per day service charge. We were happy to pay but the way its presented as soon as you check in after a long and tiring journey -it would sit better if this was asked at checkout and then you feel you are "tipping/paying" from a basis of experience rather than paying ahead which could be compromising. If you say you don't want to pay based on your experience that's slightly different and feels less pressurised. The check in staff put you in a position on arrival where it's difficult to say "no " or "we'll think about it ". Its all about timing......

I have not stayed in this exact location before. I have been a fan of hotels located in Mayfair or close to Harrods. I decided to have a change. No regrets. One reason is that arrived by train at Euston Station and the hotel is an easy 12-minute walk even with large suitcase. It is located in a street of typical Regency styled houses and is easy to miss because there is no large neon advertising sign in front of the hotel. This reflects the hotel. Effective and efficient service with a smile from room service to the bar. Bar was kept open for those late-night drinkers without any hint from the staff that it is time to go to bed. British museum and convent Garden are an easy 5 and 12 minute walk respectively. Tottenham court road is your nearest tube station. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs with food within 15 minutes of the hotel so there is no need to jump into a taxi. Bed was very comfortable with a turn down service in the evening. I was pleased that cups and saucers were provided together with a kettle so you could make coffee or tea for yourself. There was an area where could relax and read the paper. An inner courtyard reflected the location and added to the character of this particular hotel. A doorman was always on watch to help new arrivals with their luggage. I have stayed in a number of London Hotels over the years. I have now discovered a new one that I happy to place at the top of my list to stay at next time i visit London.

For once i cannot find any negatives about this hotel. Only negative is that the door insulation could be better. Ie the very large space under the door meant that corridor noise was easily heard in the room. I understand why the shower is over a large bath. Yes sometimes people do take bathes but i prefer the bath being taken out and being replace by a large shower space. My preference but if you have a baby the bath is a must.

very helpful and friendly staff, especially the gentlemen on the door and concierge brilliant location central but on a quiet street spotlessly clean cookies left in our room - thankyou! plenty of good quality toiletries and tea / coffee in the room strong wifi and plenty of tv channels comfortable bed spacious property with many areas to explore and relax overall a great time and would stay here again

only 2 very small issues! very creaky floorboards from the room above us although this cant be helped in this type of property it did wake me up a few times staff members knocked room both nights to check all was ok with the room, lovely ladies and very appreciated. however 1st evening I was preparing for a shower when the staff member opened the door before i was presentable to answer, which made me a bit on edge anticipating a knock the following evening before i could start winding down. there is a do not disturb switch next to the bed which i didnt spot until later so would advise using this if needed.

The room was excellent and the decor much admired. The greeting on arrival by taxi was superb and comforting. It felt like a homecoming and it made us feel good and safe. All departments cannot be faulted for their high quality of service and knowledge. But above all the consideration and kindness at all times is evidence of a well lead and happy team who have 'ownership'. Thank you.

Perhaps for a longer stay a few more drawers for clothes might be useful. The wardrobe was fine but lacked drawers and shelving. The bedside light flickered - possibly the flex? A framed etching on the wall of a young woman's head is entitled a Yacht - perhaps I've misunderstood??

Very luxurious hotel. Well furnished comfortable room. Excellent service from the staff. I liked the lovely towelling bath robes provided for guests' use. Good quality furnishings, linen and towels. Water was provided in the room and replenished. We dined in the restaurant one night. The meal was delicious and could not be faulted and the service was attentive but not intrusive.

The only negative aspect was that at check we paid the bill for the accommodation but £50 per night was added in case we incurred extra costs. Although this was refunded on check out it implied that we were likely to charge extras to the room without paying! Also I did not like the optional £15 per night which was added to the bill for staff gratuities -this puts the onus on the customer to ask for it to be removed. I would rather have seen a staff gratuity box.

A charming, old-school hotel. The location is ideal, quite near Russell Square, museums, and public transportation. The building feels historic and the amenities are very generous. Our room was small but well designed, and the view onto the garden was very pretty. The staff were extremely attentive and quick to answer any questions. The food in the restaurant was quite good both times we ate there.

We found the staff a little more attentive than necessary, which may have more to do with our preferences as travelers who are happy to keep things simple and do most things for ourselves. Others might very much like the service as it is. We did find it a little frustrating to be repeatedly pointed to the fixed menus for dinner and breakfast when all we wanted was something simple à la carte.

The hotel is located almost opposite the British Museum. It is just one metro stop (Russell Square) away from St. Pancras train station, the terminus of Eurostar. My room looked onto the street that was rather quiet. Its size was ok, at least I did not need to squeeze. The bathroom could have been slightly bigger though. As the hotel is in a heritage house, this is understandable, as much as the cracking wooden floor when someone was passing by. The welcome cookies were delicious & the complementary tea, in particular the Earl Grey aromatic. I appreciated the availability of the daily complementary sparkling water.

Welcoming atmosphere with excellent service was our delight. The intimacy of the lobby invited you to breath in the most gracious service I’ve ever experienced. From Abi our favorite who was most kind and helpful (made my daughter and I feel like princesses) to Camelia who warmly entertained pre breakfast harvest, to Sebastian who set me perfectly directed to the Elizabeth line, to Harriett who handed me an answer to a confusing question in seconds. What ever you are doing here at this property? It’s working. Every room helper, every room service, every cocktail server was a 10. Most enchanting hotel experience I’ve ever had. Thank you!

Great location Excellent breakfast Staff was wonderful and helpful Nicely decorated

- Rooms are tiny, it feels like you can barely turn and we are slim people. Add luggage and thick winter coats and you’re struggling to close the door. You can’t stand with 2 people in the bathroom, it’s that tiny. - We had a room on the street side and every night we had noise disturbances from people visiting the bar and smoking outside (yelling while drunk and talking). I was glad I brought ear plugs with me, wish I didn’t need them though. - The floors squeak, so when somebody passes in the hall. You hear the floors, but you also hear the people above/next to you because of the floors making a squeaky noise.
