Mercure London Bloomsbury Hotel

Location was excellent for walking distance from Euston train station and to various other attractions, Covent Garden, British Museum etc. Our room was clean and tidy, bed comfortable, Staff were a bit quiet but pleasant when asking for information. The room had an Iron and Ironing board hairdryer tea, coffee making facilities, air conditioning unit was useful during our 3 night stay. (Room Only)

We stayed in room 115. There is no view from the window (Frosted Glass) The window blinds did not block the early morning daylight out sufficiently enough, modern design looked nice but not practical! The bathroom is very small. There is no electric shaving power point in the bathroom, no full length mirrors and not enough hanging hooks for coats etc. The clothes rack in the room was very small and not very tall. Our room had a Air Conditioning units outside the window which could be heard even when the window was closed. Hotel bar was always closed when we returned from an evening out so unable to relax on return, ended up just going up to our room. (Only one chair)

Breakfast was excellent with a full range of continental and cooked breakfast items on offer. Although I was very disappointed to find that while the coffee was freshly ground, I had to ask for the decaff and was given sachets - not what I wanted, or expected from this venue. The room and bed was comfortable, clean and spacious. Staff were friendly.

Decaff coffee at breakfast, available only in sachets was very disappointing. Especially as fresh coffee was available for other guests. It may seem like a small thing but it feels like discrimination - especially as I have no choice but to avoid caffeine.

Good location between Russell Square and Holborn. On the day we checked in, tech issues meant the entire system was down but the manager/staff had prepared beforehand so we could check in quickly - great thinking! Staff were friendly.

Wifi in the room was decent but not strong enough for calls or videos. No conditioner was provided in the shower. The single lift was a bit slow so without bags, it is quicker to just take the stairs. The "down" button on the fourth/fifth floor lobby did not work consistently.

This was my second time to stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptional. I had forgotten to book a twin room and Magda on reception went out of her way to accommodate us. Placing us in a slightly bigger room and putting in extra bed. The room was lovely, bright, big and clean.Anytime I had any queries the staff went out of there a way to accommodate us. we will most certainly be back.

Good location for theatres. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Room clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful.

The picture in the website needs updating. The outside of the hotel does not resemble the picture as it has obviously been updated but the picture has not. We had trouble finding the hotel because we were looking for a white frontage with big red lettering but it does not look like this any more.

Location was excellent for my purposes and chosen as such. I have stayed in Mercure properties previously and had expectations that were met to my satisfaction.

I found the tub shower to be awkward and sustained a fall in spite of using the rubber anti slip mat. May I suggest a second safety handle at a higher level. I am 75 years old and my fall could have had serious consequences for myself. As a Canadian resident I am more accustomed to shower stalls than tub showers.

It’s in a great spot. Only a few minutes from Euston Station and great to navigate to other locations within NW and WC London. The room I had was on the ground floor and it was decent. Nice size bed, the room was clean. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good, although it would of been better if there was vegetarian sausages as an alternative option for those who don’t eat pork. The staff were pleasant and friendly. For 1 night stay I was quite happy and would return again.

My only criticism for the room was working out the room temperature, it was cold and I don’t like to sleep with the air con. My suggestion would be to have some signs on the wall or a leaflet in the room that shows guests how to use the thermostat/air con. To check that rooms have milk and also the window behind the blinds was left open. The carpet needs a deep clean as there was a coffee stain on it. But generally the hotel is clean and pleasant and I would stay there again.

The staff are amazing. friendly and efficient. Breakfast excellent . Location is great very close to British Museum . easy access to trains tube and buses. Russell Square gardens 50 yds away . Great Indian restaurant 25 yds away -The Chambeli

There is currently no restaurant for lunch or dinner . There are plenty of restaurants very close however of all sorts to eat in so not a problem

Great location, the lobby was bright, elegant and clean, staff member was very polite, helpful and professional. The room although cosy as expected in London, was clean and had all the necessary items.

The toilet seat was loose, the carpets look tired and a little dated and sadly the bar was closed for the weekend.

Stayed here with my father who had an appointment at the Neurology Hospital and the location was great,3min walk to hospital with shops and restaurants around us.We stayed in 2 small double rooms which were adequate,mine was better as I had a view of the restaurants behind the hotel and also was a better shape room.Staff were very friendly and accommodating,sorted early check in room and stored our bags.Never had breakfast at the hotel so can't comment on that but the room looked nice when we looked in and as resturant is not operating at the moment they told us we were welcome to bring our own take away food in and eat it in their restaurant .A very pleasant stay and will be back for our next appointment.
