A 'more-than-you-can-eat' continental breakfast with warm, baked pastries prepared fresh each morning by Paul. The property is ideally located to explore the stunningly beautiful town of Ludlow on foot and enjoy the pubs and restaurants without the worry of driving. We would recommend 'The Queens' and 'The Blue Boar' for good food and real ale, especially that from the local Ludlow Brewing Company. Paul welcomes you to his home, and goes out of his way to make guests feel relaxed and comfortable.

Parking is restricted during the day but we had no problems parking overnight and Paul has inventive solutions to overcome any issues there might be. Sleeping accommodation is on the first floor. No problem to us, but might be an issue for anyone with reduced mobility.

Paul couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. He made us feel very welcome and made it a home away from home. The bed was very comfy, better than our one at home. The bathroom was huge which was great. There were a bunch of different toiletries that we could use. I love how you just use what you want which is sustainable rather than having everything individually package which is terrible for the environment. Parking was a breeze. You can park for free across the road over the weekend. Ludlow is a very small town so you can leave you vehicle and explore everything on foot. Paul loves a good chat and is very knowledgeable about the whole area. Breakfast was perfect, you can choose whatever you want the night before. Also, special mention for the bed. I am 6ft 7 and the bed was the perfect size. You don't often get that luxury.

It was a little noisy with the traffic but at the end of the day, this in a town and not the countryside. The traffic is only during the day and evening and dies away while you are sleeping so its really not that much of a big deal.

Location was perfect, right in the town centre for exploring round and visiting pubs and restaurants on foot. The road it’s on was not too busy for parking and we didn’t notice noise from passing traffic. Paul was an excellent host, very welcoming and making us feel at home. He offered lots of advice thanks to his extensive local knowledge. The breakfast was more than adequate, in fact the poached eggs were perfect.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

The Green Dragon is set in a fabulous location in the heart of Ludlow. If unique, different and quirky is what you’re after then this is definitely the place for you. If not, then consider stopping at a Travelodge. The owners Suzie and Paul are wonderful welcoming hosts and basically you are their house guests for the duration of your stay. Breakfast is continental but Suzie will expertly cook eggs of your choice. The couple advise that free Parking is available nearby the property which is extremely helpful. Ludlow itself is delightful and interesting with a superb daily market and a good choice of hostelries. keep up the good work Paul and Suzie, a B&B with a difference.

Suzy and Paul are fantastic hosts, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, with a beer and a glass of wine. Paul has a great vinyl collection and fondness for Frank Zappa with a fine taste in art, model trains and aeroplanes. Such interesting, good people, never a dull moment. The bed was comfy, room very clean and the location is excellent, with parking no problem. Ludlow is a friendly and fascinating place to visit, we had a wonderful weekend and met some people we will never forget.

It's not a travel lodge and there is no swimming pool LOL

Excellent breakfast, provided gluten free options, just let the host know before you arrive about dietary needs. Paul is a very convivial host, full of knowledge about Ludlow and a very interesting conversationalist. A 5 minute walk into the town. Recommend The Queens for exceptional food and service, best to book, ask Paul for directions. Overall a most enjoyable stay.

Nothing not to like

The breakfast was bespoke and out of this world with incredible thought and care taken towards our meal preferences. Amazing outlook towards a vegan diet and completely accomodating towards that end too If you want great conversation over breakfast and a wonderfully mannered hostess then i can highly recommend the green dragon of ludlow. Highly and happily recommend multiple nights. The bed is wonderfully comfortable. Absolutely loved our stay and will be repeating our visit again.

From arriving at the property a little earlier than expected our hosts Paul and Suzie made us feel very welcome indeed. The Green Dragon is located very close to the town centre and sights so it was perfect for us. Couldn't fault the hospitality,the breakfast and the en suite room too. If we were ever to return to Ludlow we'd definitely look at staying there again.

So read the reviews before you go, and know what to expect, . Don't go here if you are looking for a premier inn type experience or a room styled out of Period homes magazine. Do go here for a very well located (for Ludlow town and environs) one-room B&B which is unique, something you will see from the moment you approach and follows all through the house decor. Susie and Paul the hosts will leave you alone if thats what you need / want (and are careful not to be intrusive) but why would you come to this house if you didn't want to also spend a bit of time talking to these two great characters who love to meet people, welcome you in with a myriad of stories, lots of local knowledge and together are pure entertainment. We had a great breakfast (cereals, fruit, good coffee and pastries) and were happy to chat for what ended up being about two hours, leaving with a smile on our face. Oh, and the room, although quite unlike any other B&B room, is supremely clean and comfortable (Mattress was best we've slept on) , and there was decent coffee, fresh milk and a selection of teas in the room. Just be aware the road is on a hill as a main route up into town (not that busy but regular traffic) , so either keep windows and closed, wear earplugs or be prepared for the odd lorry / van revving up the hill early morning. Also being a listed old house with lots of character, the floors in the room are not level (if you are very unsteady on your feet). Both minor issues if you know what to expect.

We love the location of this B&B. Very close to centre of the town. The hosts, Paul and Susy were excellent hosts. We felt like at home. Susy made us lovely breakfast, so generous. Paul made sure we went to right restaurants and pubs. Definitely we will back to stay there again.

None really. We expected the weather would be nice but the storm came. But we had a nice warm comfort room and Susy borrowed us DVD to watch, and we can forget about the storm.
