The staff were very gracious and so polite. I have to say a huge thank you to Ben the maître d'hôtel; his cocktails are amazing! If I lived closer to Ludlow I would definitely attend a cocktail lesson, if available, to learn at least a few of his skills!! There was a slight problem with our room but the hotel is trying it's best to sort it out. The views of the grounds from the patio are beautiful although we stayed in one of the 'cottages' on site we had no view except the back of the hotel. However, it was so hot, the hotel kept our accommodation in the shade which was good. We attended the Ludlow Food Festival on Friday which I can thoroughly recommend. Ludlow is gorgeous and has much history to discover. As National Trust members we were able to visit two properties very close by, Berrington Hall and Croft Castle. I recommend a visit!!

I think housekeeping could clean the double glazing more carefully. The seals have not kept dust, cobwebs etc out.

The breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked. Amazing marmalade

Very strange to only leave one packet of biscuits for 2 people for share ( 1 biscuit each) When the lady came to service our room, i told her that we didn't really need it but would welcome some more tea, milk and a couple of packets of biscuits. her response was, only one packet / room !!! We paid £288 for 2 nights, had a great time but thought it petty not to offer a second packet of biscuits ( 50p max ) It's strange how small things like this influence your opinion of a place.

Lovely quiet location within 10 minute walk into town. The twin room was small but very clean with nice view. Breakfasts were very good and didn't wait long for it to arrive after ordering. Evening meals were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would have no problems staying here again.

The only minor issues we had was the twin room, it was a bit smaller than we expected, it was an attic room so had 2 flights of stairs to take our cases up but no big deal. The room was very clean and comfortable with nice views across the fields. It certainly would not deter us from visiting again.

The location was good a 15 minute walk into town. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent hot and tasty. Was nice weather we were able to take drinks outside onto patio area. Great you could park the car easily.

Went for a drink at the bar in the evening. 2 small wines one with a lemonade splash £15.70. Too expensive, no wonder there was only us there. From the bathroom area into the bedroom area there was small drop underfoot concealed by the carpet. Could make you quite unsteady.

An attractive building and although the decor was rather sparse in the dining areas the lounge area was comfortable.

The lack of a lift restricts the possibility of guests with any mobility/ health problems. I felt that the food, which was quite palatable, was not good value for money. My friend’s piece of fish was very small and my terrine was not accompanied by the usual bread/toast and I had to pay extra for the sourdough. When I ordered coffee and petit fours for £6 the latter consisted of just two sweet like pieces. Most disappointing.

We had a fabulous stay. The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for us (special thanks to Ben and to Barbara), especially regarding my specific food intolerances - they went above and beyond in changing items on a set menu to suit me. The breakfast and dinners that we had were truly delicious, and great portion sizes. We were given fresh milk each day to make a cuppa in our room. The hotel was lovely, and our room was great, though the only thing was that we wished the bedroom and shower room had been a little bigger, though we did know we had chosen the smallest of the room options. Very comfortable bed and the temperature of the room was just right - extra blankets and pillows in the room if we needed them. Views were lovely. Only a 10 minute walk to the edge of town, lovely walks around town and along the river. We'd highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we were in the area.

Bed was large and comfortable. Room was, clean. Breakfast was good. But see below.

Most staff were very pleasant. One male staff member was somewhat grumpy. Also, we were given a time slot for breakfast - 9.15am. Breakfast should be served from say 8 to 10am and we should be able to get to breakfast at a time to suit ourselves. Also, our room was not serviced. When asking why on our departure we were told it was because of Covid and that if we wanted the room made up we should have said so on arrival. We were never told this on arrival though and never knew to ask. Perhaps the default position should be that rooms are always made up UNLESS requested not to be.

Nice location and perfect for a visit to Ludlow and surrounding walks. Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff and good value for money we felt. Restaurant excellent with good choices of both food and drinks. Breakfast options also very good and well done. Views of the castle and quiet location made for a very relaxing break.

All good. Lack of street lighting in the evening makes for an interesting walk back to the hotel, but does not take anything away from our excellent stay.

The location is a mere 12 minutes walk from the town centre BUT half of that is up a steep hill. However if you drive up there's usually no issue finding a parking space & if you've got a blue badge its free. As my wife uses a wheelchair we had one of the two rooms in 'the cottage' which are fully accessible and apart from being a bit tight around the bed, ideal. Food fine, clean nothing to complain about. Nice touch is that it's in the valley below the castle with the river teme flowing though -there's even a mill where you can have a snack & drink.

Wasn't any issues with the hotel. No adverse comments to make

This is not a full hotel; it is a restaurant that has rooms available. The room was spacious and comfortable with reasonable fixtures. Very quiet location with wonderful views of Ludlow Castle. Restaurant was excellent both for Breakfast and dinner (we ate there both nights), quite small so would need to book to ensure table. Service very good and staff friendly. A little out of town but pleasant walk into centre in 15 minutes.

Mostly all good once I realised it was restaurant with rooms.
