Excellent traditional pub. landlord's in the process of modernizing all the premises. Mostly completed and has been achieved to a good standard, without stripping away all the character. Food was very good, with a menu containing both traditional pub fayre and more contemporary interesting dishes. We will be back.

Bedroom was clean, spacious and airy. New mattress but the new bed base hadn't made it to the bedroom quite, it will be great when it does.

This was a comfortable Hotel, nicely located on the edge of town. Service was friendly and excellent, we felt like guests not customers. Food was of good quality and well presented, well cooked, and a wide and interesting choice. The Hotel is old and a little tired, but the rooms were clean and freshly decorated.

The only minor disappointment was that the water for a bath/shower was a little cool in the evening, just adequate to get clean. By Morning we did get hot water to wash.

Really friendly staff. Good parking. Great price.

TV didn't work and bed slightly hard. Bedroom was above outdoor smoking area, which leaves a lingering smell in the room even when noone is out there.

Staff could not do enough for us and were fantastic throughout. Hotel was very comfortable with a generous selection of condiments and toileteies provided....Highly recommended.

It might be an idea to supply a fan for each room during hot weather.

We liked the relaxed, friendly atmosphere - all the staff were so helpful and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean - better than any more expensive hotel that we've stayed in. Great location for exploring Shopshire. Ideal for walkers.

The place is under new management, they are working hard to improve - and it's clearly visible. I liked location (Very good for walking dog), very friendly and helpful staff, big room, good parking. Very good beer - fresh and good variety. Decent food - big portions and nicely prepared.
