Upon arrival lots of parking spaces and clean, well presented public areas. We reported to the pub's main bar to check in and were greeted by a lovely, friendly member of staff and shown our room immediately. Our double room was a nice size, good decor, really clean and the bathroom was large. Lots of towels, plenty of wardrobe space, tv, hairdryer and nice little extra touches like toiletries and even a small cafitiere for coffee and a teapot with leaf tea. We were on the ground floor which has under floor heating and a towel heater in the bathroom. We didn't eat at the hotel however we did visit the bar for a drink and again the staff were helpful and friendly. The bar and the hotel itself has a nice look/feel to it. There is also a garden/plant shop on site, an Art Gallery type shop and a farm shop as well as the cafe. We didn't visit any of these as we were only there 1 night but had a quick look around and if we had have had more time we would have definately paid them all a visit. All in all a good stay and would stay at this hotel again.

The only "negative" was that when booking it was specifially stated that the rooms had been "soundproofed" - that gave us the impression it would be a quieter stay than an average hotel. Perhaps not all the rooms have been soundproofed? We heard a lot of noise of doors outside our room, some heavy footed people upstairs and general guest noises - it wasn't a quiet, soundproofed experience and if a guest had chosen this hotel because they assumed it would be a quieter stay I think they would have been disappointed and maybe a bit angry? If that word had not been specified in the description when booking then the noise we experienced would just have been expected for a normal hotel. Didn't spoil our particular stay though we are used to some noise just some feedback.

Very beautiful, comfortable and spacious room with a good bathroom. Nice toiletries. Big comfy bed and comfortable sofa in the room. The room was situated around a nice courtyard at the back of the pub and set away from the road. I was expecting the noise from the main road to be loud but. didn’t hear a thing

I think the room would benefit from having proper curtains rather than the quite poor blinds that are in there. These let in a quite a bit of light. Blackout curtains are needed please. My blind was broken at the bottom which would allow anyone walking past to see in. I just propped some cushions in front of it which did the trick.

A warm welcome set the tone for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. we had booked 2 of the larger rooms (Plymouth and Windsor) and loved everything - the bath salts for the bath; the beautiful curtains (good black out), the selection of tea and the tea-pot; lovely and slightly unusual soaps and shampoo etc. Beautifully furnished to a high standard and all very comfortable. The Ludlow Food Centre is brilliant for food lovers with lots of local produce. we had a wonderful dinner at the Hotel and hope to return.

just be aware it is on a busy road but the front rooms have very effective double glazing on top of the normal windows.

The quality and size of the room matched my experience of 4/5 star hotels. Very comfy super king size bed, loose leaf tea and fresh coffee for refreshment, plus large comfy sofa completed the very welcome creature comforts. The bathroom and shower was large and spotless (both rooms had benefitted from a very tasteful refurb). On top of this, we were bowled over by the efficiency and friendliness of all the staff. We ate very well at the restaurant too. Thanks for such a comfortable stay, Clive Arms!

Absolutely nothing!

Very comfortable room with nice decor

The inner car park had no signs for the exit as far as we could see. The only obvious exit was a ‘T junction’ through a gap with hedges either side. The hedges meant that there was absolutely zero visibility of cars passing by this T junction on the ‘outer’ inner car park and we had a near miss because there was no mirror at the junction showing us what was the other side and cars were coming by quite fast even though it was a car park. The entry road looked wider but was clearly for vehicles entering only. ps the photo is of the brook babbling down the Carding Mill Valley.

Lovely accommodation nice warm rooms and very comfortable xtra large bed. Complimentary toiletries and tea & coffee. Clive arms is close to Ludlow racecourse 10 mins walk. Would stay again as customer services brilliant and any problems were sorted immediately .

Food pricy plus added extras on Veg etc. Not much of a selection on Gluten free food. Sister cafe next door serving breakfast was a set menu, if resident you got tea or coffee free, by showing your key number. I asked for boiled eggs due to my intolerance, and a very nice girl accommodated me, as not on menu. When I received the eggs they were not cooked and cold inside and raw. I had to tell the person on the till, and she apologised, and they very quickly sorted it out for me. Sorry to say re food, so after that we went out for meals.

Everywhere was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent, staff extremely friendly and helpful both in the hotel and kitchens. service was good even when busy. We didn't bring our dog on this occasion but will definitely return with him as we were very impressed with the 'Dog Friendly' aspect. Massive bonus was the 'Blue Light ' Discount

Felt The price was hiked up due to the concert at the castle compared to prices at other times. Would have preferred our breakfast in the hotel

The room was clean, well decorated, very spacious and comfortable. We loved the toiletries in the bathroom. We got breakfast at the Farm Kitchen which was lovely, we did have to pay extra for this but got tea and coffee for free. There was lots to do on the site and the hotel is only a 5 minute drive from Ludlow. The pub was a lovely place to have a drink and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Noise right outside our room early in the morning from a delivery van.

While house hunting in Ludlow, I was staying in various hotels in the town until I found the Clive Arms and I've never left. If I could live here I would. The Clive is a very smart Georgian house with suites on the first floor and in the stables behind the main house. It is also next door to Ludlow Farm Shop which is a total treat. I stayed in the stables (Room 10) which was a double with bathroom and an absolute delight. Everything I needed was there including the Clive's delicious 100 Acres bathroom products and hot chocolate. I never want to leave the room when I stay here. It is so relaxing.

There is an issue in Ludlow with meal times. Most restaurants serve between noon and 2pm then at 6pm until 8.30pm which is most inconvenient for people from big cities who like to eat when they want to eat. Also, the restaurant at the Clive is open at the oddest times: sometimes lunch no dinner, sometimes the reverse, sometimes neither. It is confusing. Apart from the famous Sunday lunch, if I were the Clive I would let people lunch in the Farm Shop Kitchen restaurant where breakfast is served and concentrate on a fabulous dinner menu every night.

Very nice room and surrounding area, close to Ludlow. Good communication from the hotel regarding the lack of availability of food in the evening and for breakfast

A shame the bar closed at 7.30pm and they weren't serving evening meals but they had informed us of this when we booked, which was good. Also having to pay extra at the cafe next door for breakfast was a little disappointing (although the meal and staff were very good) but again we had been informed of this before we got there.
